    It's open!

Tips: - Wednesday ribs have decent deals. - The ribs and wings are excellent. - The pavement in the parking lot is uneven, which caused me to land funny and I ended up straining my hip. During a one-on-one meeting with my documentation manager on Tuesday (I am graced with two managers these days), he let me know about this newly opened Chuck's eatery. I was game to try it out. Of note, there are three Chuck's near my workplace. This one is the third-closest one to the office. I came here after work, which is on one of my regular routes getting home, which avoids highway 401. This Chuck's takes over from Mr Greek that was there for eons. I remember going there at least a decade ago. The hotel next door is now Spark by Hilton. It used to be Hotel Carlingview, so both buildings have got facelifts. I had no problem heading northbound on Carlingview and hanging a right into the parking lot. I pulled into a parking spot. When I got out of my car, there was a drop. I realized that the pavement was uneven. I ended up straining my left hip. Luckily, it's a mild strain, but it's such an annoying ailment to have. There should be a sign saying that the pavement is uneven. There wasn't. I can see someone twisting an ankle from it. It's not safe. I walked in. There was a man in front of the Harley. He was about to head out for a smoke, but he was busy talking to the greeter. Once he left, this cheerful woman said hi and led me to a booth in the dining room. It's spacious. I forgot how large this place is. My server was Ananya. She was friendly and competent. I'd say that she's curious about the world, but is a diamond in the rough that will become that shiny gem in due time. I am such a regular that I knew that it was Wednesday ribs day with specials. My manager asked if I was going to dine here. I said yes and I was getting the ribs and wings combo. Ananya let me know about the wing specials. I went with my combo. I was trying to locate the wing sauces on the menu. My server ended up going into the kitchen to fetch a tablet with the sauces. She was quite the tour de force, which I appreciated! I eventually found it on the menu and went with honey garlic. I upgraded my fries to mashed potatoes with gravy for $3. I wanted something comforting. Some folks may have found my server too chatty. I didn't mind it, likely because I find folks interesting. She asked me where I "was from." If you know me fairly well, I don't do well with vagueness. Where I'm from as in where I live? My heritage? My planet's homebase? I asked her to clarify. She thought that I was Filipino. It wasn't a horrible guess, but I let her know that I was Chinese. She then asked about foods that I liked. She was curious about food from various cultures and was interested in trying some out. I suggested hot pot with friends. She had mentioned trying food out with friends and hot pot would be great, especially with all the proteins, veggies, desserts, soup bases, and sauces available. She was super attentive. I ordered a Diet Coke and she made sure that I never ran out of it. My drink was fizzy, cold, and hit the spot. She did ask me whether I wanted ice. I sure did! She let me know that my food was coming out soon. Moments later, I got one plate with my ribs, wings, and mashed potatoes. A separate bowl with my gravy accompanied it. I asked for extra napkins. I got lots! It turns out that I only needed two napkins to get through this meal. The ribs were fall-of-the-bone delicious. I love Chuck's barbeque sauce. It's smokey, flavourful, and yummy. I loved the honey garlic wings. Each wing had the perfect crunch and was coated with honey garlic goodness. Each wing was meaty and enjoyable to eat. The mashed potatoes and gravy were excellent. The gravy was generous that I drenched my mashed potatoes with it. So good! Another female staffer came over to clear my plate and bowl away. Staff are extremely attentive here. Sam, the manager, came over to ask how things were going. I let him know that the food was great and I loved watching the Pirates baseball game on one of the screens. I asked him how long this eatery has been open for. He let me know that it has been a month now. Nice! Aranya brought me the payment machine. I let her know that she was great, which made her smile. I tipped and tapped. Done! I headed to the women's washroom, which was in the corner by the bar. It had a few stalls. The one that I used was clean, but the shell that would have protected the massive roll of toilet paper came undone. The shell looked like a shelf! It's a decent Chuck's. The property owners (not sure if it's the hotel or Chuck's) does need to look into the uneven pavement. It's so difficult to notice until you trip or you come down on it awkwardly. (351)

We were through security early enough that we could sit for a few drinks and something to eat. Our airline was not serving any food and drink so eating before was definitely crucial. We sat at the bar, distanced from others and ordered from the tablet. I kind of wish they had hand sanitizer beside each tablet but of course I had my own anyways. We ordered a caesar salad and the mushroom quesadilla to split. We also ordered two spicy caesars - we were after all traveling to the home of the caesar - Calgary. Honestly for airport food the meal was quite lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed both items and was definitely full. The drinks were decently spicy and not watered down which I appreciate especially with a caesar. Staff was friendly, efficient, and attentive! Prices were extortionate, but that was to be expected at an airport anyways!

It was late, but this Ruth'sChris was still open. We didn't have reservations so the bar was the only option. It was fine since we could order from the regular menu. Acacia was the bartender and our server. She was fantastic, upbeat and great attitude and service. She also made my daughter a really tasty mocktail. The steak and food we had was delicious as it always is at Ruth's Chris. This location was dimly lit and had the old steakhouse feel, nicely decorated for the holidays. The food and service were fantastic, I would definitely return again when I'm in the area.

When spending almost $600 for a meal for two, all factors must check off. This establishment is located in a nondescript building near the airport. The interior is modern and clean but lacks charm and pizzazz. After having a bit of water before food arrived, we were brought an additional $9 bottle of water without being asked if we wanted one. We normally don't drink water with our meals especially when we order a $120 to $140 bottle of wine. This is my only complaint. Waiters should not assume! The tuna was probably the best of all items we ordered. It was divine! The steaks were very tender, moist, and piping hot - must be the 500F plate they serve it on. The potatoes gratin and mushrooms were way above average. Excellently prepared. There is limited parking and if you park at The Holiday Inn it can be a long walk to the front doors. All in all, it was an enjoyable evening with the most delicious food!

The second is from 9 pm till close. - This restaurant is a part of Sandman Signature Toronto Hotel. - It's the prettiest Moxies I have ever been to. After work, I take backroads home. I take Attwell Drive often. At the corner of this street and Reading Court, I always see the Residence Inn. I didn't know that there was this Moxies at Sandman Signature Toronto Hotel further down until I did a search for Moxies near my workplace. I love happy hour deals these days. I came here after work last Wednesday to check out this eatery. It's at the end of a secluded cul de sac. I actually want to stay at Sandman because it was so beautiful and quiet when I was there. There was plenty of parking. I backed into an available spot and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a cheerful female staffer. She led me to a booth near the corridor to the hotel from the restaurant. It was also where the washrooms were. I was near a couple of women with a baby. The baby was sweet and was quiet. It was my lucky day! This Moxies does have happy hour between 2 pm and 5 pm. I got here just after 3 pm. Perfect! The interior is gorgeous. It's the prettiest Moxies that I have ever dined in. I'd come back just to be in such a beautiful setting. I liked the separate room with the Blue Jays game on. There were a couple of guys watching the game there. Another special detail about this Moxies is that there's a test kitchen menu. It was my first time seeing it at any Moxies. My server was Joe. He was polite and nice. I got these items: - Hibiscus refresher - Dry ribs - Miso tuna crispy rice The hibiscus refresher was a part of the test kitchen menu. I got the non-alcoholic version. It was delicious. The hibiscus was so good with lime and cinnamon flavours. You can add tequila, but I liked it the way that it was. When I lived in Winnipeg, my go-to order was dry ribs with whatever salad I was craving. I relived half of it by getting dry ribs. It was great having them again. They were meaty and yummy, with the perfect amount of seasoning and salt. I was happy! I didn't know what miso tuna crispy rice was. So, I had to order it. It's essentially sushi-like pieces. There were six pieces of perfectly crispy rice mini bricks topped with miso tuna and mayo. I loved the contrast between the crunchy rice and fresh tuna mixture. It was delightful having this appetizer. I needed a drink. The only downside was that my server didn't drop by until I was done with my appetizers. I ordered a Diet Coke when he did, which I got immediately. It was much needed and icy! I was way too full to get any dessert. I got the bill instead. I tipped and tapped. Done! I used the women's washroom before I left. It was super fancy. It had a seating area in the middle of all single stalls. Wow! I'd come back here simply to enjoy good food and drinks in the most gorgeous eatery. Such a wonderful gem of a find! (181)
