As always the food and service was impeccable. I was a walking of two and we were seated right away. Server was kind knowledgeable and prompt. We shared the Shrimp cocktail and scallops, both are simple and classic. For entrees I had the Peppercorn Striploin and my girlfriend had the Spring feature shrimp and steak. Both cooked to medium rare. Soreness was cooked to order. We celebrated a birthday and were offered an ice cream cake which was lovely. The keg has reopened, i missed the old Keg and after going back to the Keg this weekend I still miss the old Keg. With the old keg, you see the chefs cook your meal. you definitely smell the steak , you can hear the steak searing process. Everything else was quiet so you were constantly think and dreaming of your meal. That takes us to late 2025. They remodelled and have dance music and rap music on a little too loud no steak smell you dont see the chef cook your steak and forget about hearing the steak sear . That being said the meal and service are still top notch. I had the caesar salad as an appetizer with the filet mignon 10 oz baked potato seasonal vegetables with mushrooms. I had the steak medium well, ( I should have went with medium but that is on me) it was a really good tasting steak with lots of flavour . the seasonal vegetables were a mix of green beans and mushrooms which were fabulous, the carrots could have been cooked a little bit more , but that is nitpicking. As for the service, the young lady was very good and pleasant but because of the music she startled me . At times, we had repeat each other , not her fault it was just the ambience . Went for lunch and decided to splurge since I was in a foreign country and the Canadian dollar is down a bit to the U.S. dollar. I got the LOBSTER BISQUE lobster, sherry, cream, sour cream, chives $12 CAD to start, it was very good, I got excited when I thought I found some lump lobster meat but alas it was just the sour cream :( still very tasty, especially with the loaf of warm bread and herbed butter that came to the table as well! For lunch, I got the FILET MIGNON $42 CAD bacon wrapped, béarnaise sauce, 7 oz medium-rare. It was cooked to perfection. And my God the béarnaise sauce was SO GOOD. I LOVED the roasted red pepper and zucchini that came with it. My side was a traditional Caesar salad, loved that it came with fresh parm and a lemon wedge! I ended up tipping 20% (Need to check into Canada's tipping culture) Not sure if they are more aligned to Europe when it comes to tipping or the U.S. since we are so close. But anyway, the service was excellent. Total bill $73 CAD about $54 USD. A treat for lunch with a bit of a discount! That's my "champagne taste on a beer budget!" I suppose! read more

This was a convenient location to the airport so we grabbed a quick dinner in their bar/lounge area before flying back out. Our server was fantastic and took great care of us. He did get very busy near the end of our meal so our drinks sat empty but I understood. I went with the Top Sirloin Keg Classic which included a salad, green beans, beets, mushrooms, and one side which I chose a loaded backed potato. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly and I loved the mushrooms. I'm not a huge fan of beets and I felt the green beans were a tad too crispy, but I know that's more of a personal preference. The salad to start was a great portion as well. Overall, cool spot with an intimate atmosphere on one side and a relaxed lounge and bar with TVs on the other side. Great service!! Manager took care to come out and discuss menu with me and chef created a wonderful vegan and gluten free dish for me. My friends chicken was dry and server and manager were so apologetic and insistent on correcting the situation. They did separate bills for our party of 7. The Keg is a staple and a decent option for a steak. It was a bit busy when we got there, but they were able to find us a spot without a reservation. For some reason it probably took us 15+ minutes before anyone came and talked to us. Once they recognized us, the service was pretty good for the most part but it did take a while to pay. We had a four hour flight back to Toronto from Vegas, and while I was REALLY looking forward to sleep, we somehow chatted the entire duration. Throughout this timely encounter, he brought up The Keg and just how much he loved their wedge salad. We hooted and hollered about how texture is everything and a nice crunch goes a long way, regardless of nutrition. He recommended ranch and cheddar on the wedge and I COULDN'T LEAVE TORONTO without going to The Keg! Something nifty I loved about The Keg is that they offer you a regular portion drink OR Keg Size. Is this Canada's version of Super Size for alcoholics? I don't care. I want Keg All The Way. We showed up and were quoted a 45 minute wait so I hit the bar for a round of cocktails. I was splendidly surprised with their different options and ordered a Pequeño Diablo which is the one and only George Clooney's Casamigos Reposado tequila paired with Chambord, blackberry, lime & thyme! Oh look, they can rhyme! ;) As a margarita girl and really any tequila inspired drink lover, I was a super fan of this tasty concoction. Within only 15 minutes our table was called and we were on our merry way. You've gotta love when the wait is less than you think! Nice mind trick, Kegaroo! I'm not really a fan of steak but as you know I was salivating at the sounds of that hyped up wedge. It was just as plump and crunchy as described with a smooth ranch that popped with flavor and soothed with a creamy finish. THANK YOU MAN ON THE PLANE! I ordered some roasted chicken with brussel sprouts, carrots, gnocchi and a half rack of ribs as well. The chicken was absolutely tender, vegetables nice and crunchy, and the ribs fell off the bone. A teensy bit dry with the barbecue but our waitress was quick as can be with a side of sauce for me! We were checked on regularly but not obnoxiously and while admittedly, The Keg is more of a chain, it felt super authentic and one of a kind throughout our whole meal. I loved the warm calm ambiance with classic modern feels. We were very welcomed by the entire staff and cocktail waitress went out of her way to bring us extra DRUNKEN cherries. Those things were so good! The others at my table ordered beefy meaty steaks and enjoyed them wholeheartedly. I must say, not a single taste bud was left unhappy. We finished with a creme brulee that was done PERFECTLY where the top of the dessert cracked like glass under the pressure of our spoons. I was planning on going to The Richmond Station for dinner in Downtown Toronto. However, I decided to just eat near my hotel so I dropped off at The Keg. I came in and was kindly greeted by the hostess who directed me towards our seat. Soon after that, Klidi, our server came over. Klidi was a nice guy and a pretty good waiter. He was very polite and courteous. I had a nice conversation with him about the American Political System as well! For my meal, I decided to start off with the lightly fried calamari and than get a hamburger for my entree. The hamburger was recommended by Klidi as it was one of his favorite items. My calamari came out very fast, but at the same time the bread came out. I found that a bit odd. Anyway, the calamari was really good! I especially liked how it was only lightly fried so I could actually taste the calamari! I ate a bit of the bread and it was really good. The inside was nice and soft while the outside was crispy, but not too hard. However, before I had fully finished my meal, the staff dropped off my burger. I felt very, very rushed. The burger itself was pretty good and had a big, fluffy bun on top! The burger was very nicely done and had an almost steak style taste. Once again, I felt pretty rushed when being given the dessert menu. The dessert menu itself was not too extensive, but did have a brownie sundae that I decided to get. The brownies were really good and topped off with creamy chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Of course, it also had ice cream, but I did not love it. The Keg also has a sport's bar and outdoor seating options. If watching the Blue Jay's game you can actually see an add for The Keg behind home plate. I was all set to rate this restaurant five stars but my dinner companions both wanted to rate it four, so I was outvoted. This restaurant was recommended to us by a former work colleague of mine. It was very near my friend's hotel, which was a definite plus after a long day of excursions. When we drove in the parking lot was full and we did have to be put on a very short wait list (less than five minutes). We were shown to the requested both and a server was over to take our order almost immediately. We all ordered the top sirloin with varying sides. Our steaks were all cooked perfectly but some entrees were sold out. The service was very prompt throughout the entire meal.
