I really wanted to like this place because one of our good friends frequents here. I got the flautas (similar to taquitos if you don't know what that is) and some carne asada tacos to share. First the salsa bar was akin to the Sahara, as in dry as f*ck. There was a tiny puddle of salsa in each bowl. At this point, either fill it up or take it out completely. The food came relatively quick, and the actual flauta shell was tasty, but the compliments stop there. The meat was dry and tasted old, the guacamole had a tint of gray, which means that was old. I mean the tomato inside the guac wasn't even red anymore. However, we were starving, so I devoured everything anyways, which I came to regret about 30 mins. later. I do know they remodeled and have new management, so I'll give it another go because I am hopefull...But for $17 bucks for 2 people, I'll try my luck elsewhere. read more

My review is based solely on the owner not the food. He is extremely rude and unprofessional, while I was ordering at the register he was calling the employee names. I then proceeded to let him know that he was being rude, to which he replied " that's how we talk to each other". If he talks to his employees this way in front of customers I can only imagine how terrible he speaks to them privately. He should not be an owner. He needs to learn manners and respect. Anyway, I've been eating this food since I was a kid. It used o be called Los Monitos and was on Holt Blvd in Ontario. The flavor is the same, the quality is the same. It's good. The B rating? Well that's cause there's a lot of corrupt a-holes in the county health department and I wouldn't be surprised if this is a biased grade. Hell my favorite and possibly the best Chinese food in Ontario or upland has a B rating. So what? Not like you're gonna get sick! What the heck? We showed up at 7:45pm on a Thursday and they tell us we can't eat there. Who closes at 8pm? We drove all the way from Chino Hills! We have been going to Los Monitos for years, but now that they have moved and been renamed, everything has gone downhill. We Ended up going to El Perico down the street, and glad we did! NO STARS!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! My family and I came for a quick meal before getting our nails done. We were not greeted when we arrived and were rushed to order. That's just the beginning! The menu is located on rotating tv screens so you have to wait a little longer to figure out what you want if you have never been here. After ordering a shrimp nacho, (which the normal meals come with a rice, bean, & cheese) I was served with shrimp ceviche and chips. Huh? My thoughts exactly! Chips and salsa is not nachos !! Or is it just me? Anyways, I asked where were the other toppings and the server said that's how they come. Clearly not what I wanted so i asked if I could change my order. The cook/manager decides to send out rice and beans. Seriously! I asked again to change my order and was denied, so I asked for a refund. Standard restaurant protocol... Nope! Can't get that either.. I really can't stand people with no common sense. I enjoy the deep fried burrito, and I add Carne aside for 1 dollar extra, it is worth it. But on Monday they have 3 burritos for 5.99 I would pay three dollars extra and get Carne aside in them, but today I was told I can't add carne asada because the special don't come with it. This makes no common sense because I am paying for the carne Asada. I guess his business is doing good, so he can afford to lose customers #never go back. We love this spot! We recently moved to the area and wanted to find a good Taco Tuesday spot and this place wins hands down! We tried all sorts of spots but this place makes great tacos with plenty of meat for a great price too. We are trying other things on the menu and everything is just so tasty and well made. Their mild green salsa is my favorite from the little salsa bar. They don't skimp on cilantro and onions either. We now go every Tuesday or call ahead to pick up food. This is my favorite place to eat when we're in the Upland area. One thing I like about Chuck's tacos, beside the cheese enchiladas,is the music they play. You'll hear the owner singing to some memorable songs. The shredded beef taco are delicious but my favorite are the cheese enchiladas with a pickle on the side! Very yummy. Went last night to try Chucks...I ordered One ground beef burritos, 3 carne asada tacos. The burrito had beans, which I wanted, but didn't expect to bite into a ROCK! Chipped my molar tooth, Damm! Also, worst tacos we ever had. The carne asada was tough to chew, and dry, no flavor!. Overall quality of food WE ordered was very poor, the worst ever. We won't be back EVER. We live in La Verne and my husband woke up excited to take me to breakfast for his favorite breakfast burritos. We drove 20+ minutes to get to Chuck's Tacos and it is literally a hole in the wall, Mexican food restaurant. When we first went inside, we were not greeted and the lady at the front seemed upset. We walked to the register to place our order and she said what can I get for you? So my husband knows what he wants but being my first time I asked what breakfast burritos they had and she pointed to the board menu and said they are right there. We order and the man cooking comes out to ask if we left a tip not aware that I speak Spanish. I was confused at first and then asked the rude lady if he really just asked if we left a tip. Of course she lied and went to the back to say something to him away from where we can hear. This was a terrible experience. Small businesses fail because customers refuse to be treated poorly. Though the food was sub-par, how one feels is the most important part of an eating out experience. We will NEVER come back to this restaurant and will also advise family and friends not to return as well. read more

Ate at Chuck's last night with my wife and two daughters. My immediate impression was not a good one. Place is in sort of a run down strip mall and is pretty dingy. I should have known better....And after we received a laughable amount of chips (about ten chips in a very small bowl for four people) I was just about ready to leave. Anyway, we got our food (I had the two taco plate) and the tacos were as bland as could be and had this strange, liquidy/watery type of tomato sauce drizzled of on top. Not good. The rice and beans were fine but the tacos were just barely edible. Had the distinct impression that whoever runs the place must be cheap. Looked around for a bit and noticed a sign by the soft drink dispenser that said refills are a dollar if you share drinks. Fair enough, but this just added to overall air of cheapness. We ordered a Burrito de Lengua, the burrito was so small and when we took a bite we opened it, there was no meat in it only rice, beans and cilantro, my taquitos oder, not only they were hard as a rock, 100% uneatable, but the guacamole was black with a really bad taste and they put just a little bit of rice and beans. They're food is not very good. Very similar to what you would get at Alfredo's Mexican Food. They don't have the home cooked taste. I ordered a shrimp burrito that I paid over 12 dollars for and it was very bad. It was dry and had about 5 breaded dry shrimp in it. To top it off they have bad customer service. I asked to have my check split into two payments and they said it was too much work for them and they would have to clear the order or something like that.
