I am genuinely disappointed to be writing this review after being a loyal customer for close to a decade. I remember when the owner personally worked in the restaurant, and I saw how hard she and her family worked to build this business. The food was always genuine, authentic, and worth coming back for. Unfortunately, my last two visits have been completely stressful and disappointing. On an earlier visit, I ordered menudo and chicken pozole while a gentleman was working, and everything was delicious, authentic, and served perfectly. Today, however, the pozole was extremely watery, had almost no hominy (maíz), and looked more like chicken soup than pozole. The server brought me extra maíz when I asked, but when I explained that the pozole had not been served this way before, she brought up my previous visit when I ordered potato tacos. She was correct--I also complained that day because each taco had only about one spoonful of potato inside an entire tortilla. She explained that all the food is now measured. I understand portion control, but measured portions should not mean watered-down pozole or tacos with barely any filling. That is not the same authentic food we enjoyed here for so many years. The service was also extremely poor. After taking our order, the server stayed in the kitchen and never returned to check on us. We still needed assistance, but she was nowhere to be found. My mother and I were also given only one spoon, one fork, and one knife between the two of us instead of two complete sets of utensils. This is now the second time we have received this type of food and service. I sincerely hope the owner reviews the cameras from our visit because she will see exactly what I am describing. Sadly, after two disappointing experiences in a row, I do not plan to return. It genuinely hurts to say that after supporting this restaurant for close to a decade, but the quality and service are no longer what they used to be. read more

Went in today to pick up 3 breakfast burritos because my my family wanted to give them another chance. I didn't want to but we went in and ordered our three breakfast burritos to go nobody was there. I was the only one there and it took them forever.. well I was waiting. I seen a baby cockroach crawling on the floor. The place is so rundown. It was $40 for three breakfast burritos one with bacon. The beans were super dry. The tortilla was old and stale. Absolutely terrible. They hardly put any egg in the burrito and whatever frozen little cubed potatoes they put inside the burritos were super burnt to the point where you cannot even bite down on them!!! We will never go back. I advise everyone to stay away.. DEL TACO is so much better. Honestly don't know how they haven't closed down. Very disappointing. read more

This review is strictly for a tamale order. As a vegetarian it can be difficult to finds places that don't put lard in their masa. Well they are vegetarian here! I was so excited when I found this out last year and was lucky enough to get one, they sell out quickly around the holidays so keep that in mind. This year I ordered 10 green chili and cheese and they were so bomb! I already can't wait to order more next year. This is the worst mexican food I've had in Rancho Cucamonga. The pork pozole was watery, and tasteless. The pork tasted like it came from a can. The taquitos had a rancid taste with about a teaspoon of beef in them. I sent back the pozole and thought I'd be safe to order a cheese enchilada, well sorry to say but they were horrible. The tortillas were raw and cracking, the cheese was not melted and the sauce tasted like Las Palmas Canned enchilada sauce. I should have realized when the place was completely empty on a Saturday morning. They claim to be Authentic Mexican Food?? Couldn't be farther from the truth. This place offers pozole on a daily basis. Thanks for satisfying my craving on a Monday afternoon. Pozole Rojo (7/10) the pozole had a nice color to it and the stock was good. A little more flavor would have been nice but it was still satisfying. Also, it didn't have enough maíz. Chips and salsa (8/10) the chips were nice and warm and tasted freshly made. She raised her voice yelling at my family while we asked a simple question. The way the situation was handled was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. This is the only place I found so far that had pozole verde and pozole rojo. The small size is $9. They also carry menudo rojo and chicken tortilla soup. I like that they also make the soups on all days and not just the weekend. Pozole verde was with shredded chicken and plenty of shredded cabbage, sliced radishes, limes, chopped onions and cilantro. The pozole rojo had a good amount of chunks of pork with hominy in a slightly spicy broth. Both were great, not too salty or spicy for my mom. They do follow covid protocol, I had to wait at the door before ordering inside and people waited in their cars for them to bring the food. They take card. I have mix feelings about this place. I ordered a California Burrito with everything in it and when I picked it up I didn't bother checking the bag and just went straight home. When I got home and checked the bag it said "Everything" written by a sharpie. I didn't think much about it but when I took a bite it wasn't a California Burrito it was an Everything Burrito. When I called the place the lady on the phone was rude and wouldn't give a refund or get me a new one. And when I was just gonna say goodbye the lady hung up on me before I said a word. I have been coming here since they started years ago. Always loved their cheese tamales, would get a craving and drive far to get them. Unfortunately the last 2 times we have been so disappointed. Omg service is so slow!! I ordered 1 tamale and it took 20 mins, worse part there was only 3 of us in the whole restaurant.

Came here for some tamales but they had ran out so ordered red pozole. But I did get lucky and they had a dozen of the queso and raja left!! Onto the pozol, it was packed to go with all the fixings, oregano, lime, cabbage, chili powder, radish,- and 3 crispy tortillas. Plenty of meat and hominy, pozole was rich and flavorful especially with all the fixings. Would def get this again. I will try and nab some tamales tomorrow morning read more

This is a nice, quiet place to stop by and grab lunch. The chips have to be ordered and do not come with the meal like most places. They come in funny little wheeled basket. The food is always good, but portions are deceiving. The thinly layered beans and rice are just enough to keep you wanting more. Not too many restaurants serve Pozole or Menudo on a weekday , thank god for this place. I ordered on the phone for a pick up and it was ready in less than 15 min. Their pozole comes in green or Red, I prefer the red and their menudo is legit. On the to go orders they make sure to pack all the condiments the Menudo and Pozole traditionally come with like the spices, onion cilantro , radish and tostada or tortillas. And not to mention the super spicy chili powder that adds a kick and karate chop to the dish. I also ordered a carne asada Chimichanga and that too is something I always order if I don't get the soup. This place is pretty awesome. I know some people gave some randomly bad reviews, but I suggest you give it a try. Here's what I liked. I can get vegan Mexican food and my husband can get carnivore food because they make some pretty easy swaps...like not putting friggen lard in everything including the rice and beans! I got a vegan burrito. It was great and the green salsa was really flavorful but not too spicy. The red salsa was also flavorful but too spicy for me. My hubby liked it though. Here's the super cool thing...the sweet corn and sweet corn/pineapple tamales are vegan! I haven't had a homemade tamale in years. I got a pineapple and corn one, even though my burrito was big enough to fill me up, and I ate the whole thing. A couple of cons...parking lot is kinda sketchy. Doesn't bother me though. And hubby said the meat tamales were really good but the chicken one could have used a little more meat. But neither of those things would keep us from going back. First time here and I appreciated that the guy at the counter shared with me they are known for their pozole. The restaurant is located behind Red Hill Coffee Shop. So I ordered green pozole and a couple of tamales. When I got home I unpacked my pozole and was so happy because it came with all the condiments! Shredded lettuce, radishes, onion, lime, oregano, Chile, cilantro and little tostadas! What a treat! The pozole was very flavorful and the chicken cooked just right, I ordered medium and could barely finish it but I was up for the challenge. The tostadas were light not a heavy corn taste but they only give you 3 small ones, I might get more next time. The tamales were just like my mom would make, so I'll definitely be back for a dozen. The service was great, after ordering I waited in the car and the guy brought my order. They have churros & champurrado gonna have to make a trip out on the next rainy day for sure. Woke up with a craving for menudo and in spite of the low scores and bad reviews we decided to give this place a try, some times reviews can be deceiving but some time you have to agree because as soon as we walked in, the place had a funky smell, like dirty mop water, the guy at the counter was attentive, the older lady seemed grouchy, we ordered a menudo with the pata on the side and 2 tamales. We literally left the entire bowl of menudo and pata because it has been the WORSE menudo we have ever tasted. Juanita can menudo is way better than theirs. It had a very weird chemically taste, and even though we try to doctor it up, no amount of fixings helped the nasty taste. I have an affinity to tamales, and this place hit all the marks. They had chicken, cheese, and pineapple tamales. My hubs picked the tamales up while I was on the phone with him and there was no wait. We ordered a dozen. He was literally in and out, and at home within minutes. Don't sleep on the other flavors but.....My favorite was the cheese! It's definitely a must try. It was absolutely delectable.
