Dr Zarrabi is the best pediatric dentist we have ever been to! She is so patient and kind and makes kids feel so comfortable. I took my son in after he broke both of his two front adult teeth on his scooter accident. It was such a traumatic experience for us, but she repaired both teeth and made them look better than his original teeth. Everyone at this office is so nice. Even though the office is not close to our house., it's worth the drive there. There's always parking in front and very easily acceptable. read more

I first met Dr Savelli when she was still practicing under another dentist, before starting her own business. I followed her to her establishment even though it was 20 min out of my way because she was so good with my 1 yr old son. My children are now 23 and 20! My son parted with her at 18 because he outgrew the chair LOL! and my dtr parted only because she moved away to college. Dr Savelli is considerably kind and patient and not just with my children. I have witnessed her patience in the office in conditions I felt were stressful with children crying or opposing treatment. I also appreciated one time there was a problem with my insurance and she was very kind in working out a payment plan for me. Strongly recommend Dr Savelli! You will not be disappointed read more

My wife and I have been bringing our 10 year old son here for the last 2 years and change. Our son is severely autistic and we were having trouble in past years having his teeth cleaned and cared for thoroughly. For the first year everything seemed to go great, the dentist's were polite, informative, and were able to complete the care my son needed without issue. Initially our primary and my son's secondary disability insurance through the state of CA were setup correctly and getting billed without issue. Somehow the girls at the front desk lost/deleted my son's secondary disability insurance information that always covers anything Aetna does not. For a year we would continuously provide them with the secondary insurance information again and again, for some reason it never seemed to stay on file. My wife called to correct all this once again today and they refused, my wife even called back with a representative from my son's secondary disability insurance to help correct the billing issues. The Chula Vista Smiles "Office Manager" refused to change any insurance information for a list of laughable reasons, by laughable I mean the representative from my son's secondary disability insurance was laughing in shock at the office managers answers. I called the Office Manager in a final attempt to reconcile the situation today. The Office Manager insisted they can not change the insurances on file currently until we paid past bills that they billed to the incorrect insurance agencies. We had a representative from Aetna and my son's secondary disability insurance standing by to process the claims and both representative told us Chula Vista Smiles can absolutely re process the insurance claims with the correct information. The Office Manager continued to state their system does not allow any changes to past billing statements. So because they lost my son's secondary insurance for a year, they now want us to pay all rejected claims cash upfront before seeing my son again. They have also been trying to charge us co-pays per visit when our primary insurance does not have a co-pay and even if it did my son's secondary disability insurance covers co-pays. The manager told me if we want my son's secondary disability insurance to cover co-pays we would have to pay the co-pay now and get reimbursed later from my son's secondary disability insurance. We have never encountered any medical or dental office claiming this since he was diagnosed at 2 years old. All other offices bill my son's secondary insurance for co pays and it's covered. I'm sure they're doing this to keep these details off of claims submitted to insurance, essentially hiding the evidence. It might seem petty to go to all this trouble over small co-pays and a couple hundred dollars in past due bills, but parents with special needs children are constantly in and out of emergency rooms, doctor offices, dentists, specialists, labs, and pharmacies. I have never seen it so obviously done before today but most offices play these cash up front games or send bills via mail that they know are covered trying to get quick cash from families or paid twice. If we paid out of pocket every time we would be drowning in debt. I had Chula Vista Smiles remove my son as a patient today, my family will not be a party to business's that operate like this regardless of the care being provided. I'm not going to directly fund poor customer service, inept or deceitful office workers, and insurance scams that prey on special needs children. These dentists are well aware of the hardships parents with special needs children go through and the fact they allow their office to continue to be ran so irresponsibly is sickening to me. We did everything possible to correct the insurance primary secondary issues, regardless of whose fault it was, countless hours on the phone with no resolve. We received a final bill via email today and now there's no co-pay on it, I guess they really didn't want any evidence of that "Mandatory up front co-pay". read more

The staff is 100% friendly, professional, and patient with whining, screaming, complaining children, as well as regular kids. We have received excellent treatment from them over the past 8 years. Upon making my son his next appt we asked for an afternoon appt. The receptionist told me sorry everyone wants afternoon appts. Even months out she would not offer an afternoon time that worked for us. So obviously frustrated I said maybe I should find another dentist. Hang up. 3 weeks later i call back looking to finally make my son an afternoon appt that we need and the receptionist today says they made my sons file inactive and to find another dentist. Ok they think they're funny. Inactive after 3 weeks. Unprofessional childish and a petty dental office is what they are. The girls in there are rude and inconsiderate. And this is not the first time the staff has been biased to my son and I. Having young and former cholas working in your reception and dental assistants thinking they can be rude & judgmental to anybody is never a good look. I have never been more disrespected than the way this staff has treated my son and I. Now if I take my son to another dentist and he dies like the girl from last month it will be their fault. I will be making a formal complaint thru his insurance and everywhere I can because this type of practice is not right. My daughters have had 2 "emergency" appointments during the pandemic and each time, they were able to get us in, same day. They are personable and courteous and I love that they always remember our family no matter how much time has passed. And dr savelli is as amazing as ever. She always does what's best for my daughters. I trust her with everything in me! She was able to work on my kids needs without issue and in a timely manner. I was here today, 7 months into the pandemic. When I noticed that 2 employees (not customers) were not wearing a mask or using it without covering the nose, I expressed my discomfort with the situation. Instead of 'fixing' the issue, I was invited to leave. If masks use does not matter to you (US is at its peak of COVID cases today), the dentist is very good. I wish I could give zero stars. After leaving the Super Dentist that wanted to fill my daughter's mouth with root canals, I thought we found an awesome dentist. Evidently the front desk needs to get their act together and grow thicker skin. First, they confirmed an appointment on a Friday for Monday. I show up on Monday and I am informed that not only do I not have an appointment, my insurance won't cover my daughter's cleaning for another six days. I left annoyed because I work by appointment, so therefore they wasted my time when I could have been making money. Then I made another appointment for 3 weeks later on a Friday. I did not receive a confirmation call for this appointment. When I came for our appointment, I simply stated, " I hope we actually have an appointment today because last time was nonsensical." The appointment was fine, my daughter was happy with her bag of dental goodie because she even got a hair tie. One week later I received a letter stating that my care has been terminated by my choice. So, I went into the office to inquire about this letter. I was informed by the manager that I was rude to the front desk at my last appointment. She calls in the incompetent receptionist who the proceeds to try and quote me via recorded notes. I was quoted as saying, "Let's see what nonsense they have today." I seriously feel sorry for the dentist because she has such easily butt hurt people at her front desk that can't keep proper appointments or even quote people properly. So, I basically told them off. I also feel sorry for my daughter because she felt comfortable with the dentist. If you can't handle people that are annoyed because you fail to do your job properly and therefore end up wasting people's time, then maybe you shouldn't be a receptionist. I have kids that I no longer take there because the staff is rude and always late. The staff neglects to explain when they are running behind which happens to be almost always they make silly rules in regards to making appointments and yet having the patient wait an additional 40+ minutes to be seen. When you ask why there is a delay they get aggressive and explain that they are behind or that they are moving as fast as they can. They then turn and explain to the doctor a different story and tell their abrupt lies about what happen so that they don't get in trouble. Avoid the trouble guys don't go there. read more

My daughter has a history of being scared of new things. She's a toddler. Today was her second appointment here, a cleaning. Dr. Z interacted with my daughter in a way that made her less nervous. She showed my daughter the tools she would use, would ask her questions to distract her, showed her all the goodies in her bag and then when she was all done (10 minutes or less) she addressed us (the parents) our concerns. 10/10 experience today, so much so that I had to write a review. The level of professionalism at their front counter is by far the worst I have ever seen. I'm disabled and unable to write and read correctly without a keyboard after laughing and making me feel very belittled when I said I couldn't fill out the paperwork. When I asked for there help the girls then made comments about it wasn't there job to help me. The lack of professionalism continued throughout our visit with them taking personal phone calls and telling stories of there weekend drinking adventures. In addition to all of this I wonder who's job it is to turn on the lights, television, or game system in the waiting room since they were all off. I was in desperate need of same day appointment )since my daughter fractured her tooth.)They accommodated me to their schedule. Office is very clean, staff is very professional and super friendly. I was helped by lili and Monica. Those 2 ladies are awesome. Since I'm a cash paying patient they offered a discount . Which was very nice. The other nice thing is that her prices are very reasonable. Plus Doctor is very honest, very knowledgeable. The best part is that she had good bedside manners and she made my 4 year old nervous child feel very comfortable. It seemed like the more questions I asked the more upset they got. Well they were right, I got there with my boys and they seem to be gossiping. Then one of the ladies got on the phone and had this bad attitude towards the person on the other end of that phone call. Went in yesterday for my daughter to see a "specialist". My daughter was crying of pain (kicking screaming , saying STOP.) and they kept saying it was the sounds that were scaring her. This was her 1st time here but not with a dentist. She had work done previously and never reacted the way she did. Super scary as a parent if your child is telling you there is pain and you cannot do anything.....just stop them because then your kid will be traumatized of the dentist like mine is now. To top it off... THEY PUT CROWN CAPS WITHOUT CHECKING IF THEY ARE EVEN... now my daughter has to get surgery and scared to go back to check if the caps are even and not too high..... HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL AND SAVE ANOTHER KIDS EXPERIENCE . Im not in the industry so im limited to proper procedures.... but if a child is screaming in pain.... there is something wrong!!!! Was referred here by a family member and after calling them was a bit hesitant to come (lady on the phone was kinda rude) but decided to give this place a try and see how it goes. My son is 2 years old and this was his first visit to the dentist so I really didn't know what to expect. I def thought it would be impossible to do a cleaning and exam on my crazy boy!! Lol the staff were all very friendly and nice and I was in the waiting room for only about 5 mins. The DA was very good at getting my son comfortable and in the chair (to my surprise lol) the Dr was also very nice. Am very pleased with this place. Will be back for his next cleaning. So this place would've received more stars because they were very good with daughter. They are getting 1 star because they over charged me on my deductible and on each procedure. I told the girl that my deductible wasn't right but she insisted that her system was accurate. I went into the office for two procedures thinking they were right and I was misinformed on my insurance. Wasn't until a visit with my dentist that I knew I was right and called my insurance. Insurance verified I was over charged and asked if I wanted to file a grievance. I did not and it was so I could give them a chance to fix the situation. The situation is now worse. I'm looking at my dental claim and it looks like something they said my daughter was covered for wasn't and according to the claim benefits I owe the office now. I absolutely love this office from the front desk (Monica and karina are very friendly and always have smiles) to the back where they do the cleanings and check ups. The employees are very friendly and great with the kids, and the dr is amazing I have had both dr savelli and Dr zarrabi see my children and they love both of them, and in treatment they are both great dr's who always have the children's best interest in mind, you can tell they truly love what they do. Both of my children are patients here & so far I like it. They are affiliated with Rady Children's so if your child ever needs surgery like mine did they will be in good hands. They do surgery at the hospital instead of the office so it's way safer. The dentists are nice but the front office needs a little help with that. One lady in particular can be rude.
