Came here for breakfast because of the rave reviews and was NOT disappointed. The restaurant seems pretty new and very clean. The owner was so friendly and offered a sample of their house made hibiscus tea. We watched him train new employees as we waited for our food and it was nice to see. We ordered both the regular and veggie breakfast burritos. Both were excellent. More than filling. The veggies were super fresh, not over cooked but cooked to perfection. Their signature sauce is so damn good. Next time I come in, I will pay extra to have a saucer of it. This was a hearty meal that felt healthy because of how fresh all their ingredients were. I can't leave out the potatoes that were also cooked perfectly. I also ordered their pineapple delight smoothie which was perfect. Bright, happy, not overly sugary. In times like these where businesses are closing or short staffed, quality has changed, I can't help but write this raving review with love for the owners in my heart. I'll give them 3 stars. The jumbaliya was decent but I'm so sad that I got like 10 fries and a tablespoon of roasted veggies that I paid $4.50 for the fries and $3.50 for the veg. WOW! I checked the reviews and had to stop in. Thank goodness I did. First of all, the staff is amazing. Great people who make you feel very welcome and are super-appreciative having customers come in. Now for the star of the show: I had the Lion King burger. Full lb. of meat, and I can put it away, and I did, but barely. The only downside, if you could call it that, was that the bun can't handle a burger that massive, and as you are finishing up, it turns into a greasy mess, the patties are that juicy. Couple that with probably the best garlic fries I've ever had. Crispy and with tons of garlic on them. I used some of the leftover garlic on my burger and it made it really tasty. Are you freaking kidding me, this place is AMAZING!!!!!!! From their food to their staff, I am happy to have found this place. They have a wide variety of food and drink options. They also have a special house sauce called Afro and my goodness, it's so good LOL. Beside the atmosphere, id say the customer service is great! The owner of the restaurant was going around ask asking the customers what was their thoughts on the meals the ordered and just engaged with their customers overall. Tamba from Guinea West Africa has a small diner on Watt, just north of I-80. We had the good fortune of stumbling upon it by doing a Yelp search for breakfast in cal expo area. Upon giving it a try, we were blown away by the simplicity and great taste/flavor of the breakfast food especially the sauces. I had the Signature Omelet and She had some pancakes, eggs and bacon. The omelet included the Spicy Breakfast and Signature Sauces. Just before that when ordering, we got a taste of the Hibiscus Tea which was very refreshing and perfect for a hot Sacramento day. Maybe a little sweet but mo betta than a soda for lunch or dinner. For breakfast, ours was just a couple cups of coffee which was fine and much better than your usual breakfast place, tasted more like a Peets or Starbucks. As I was taking my first bite, Tamba asked if I wanted a little hot sauce. That's when he won me over! That sauce was so damn good, I had to buy some more to take home. It's a recipe he brings from his home in Guinea. It has some heat so I asked him if it had some Scotch Bonnet Pepper. He smiles and tells me that it's made of nine different pepper all red and yellow including a little Scotch Bonnet. When I ask him about the tiny sweetness, he explains that it's a natural sweetness from the yellow peppers. He goes on to explain that they are in the process of bottling it but need to figure out how to preserve it. He sells me some fresh hot sauce out of his refrig. I'm planning to go back with some friends for dinner. If you plan on going for dinner, be sure to check ahead of time to make sure they're open. read more

This place doesn't have 5 stars for no reason, they are gooooood!! Boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick bite before heading to Reno and got the Lioness and the Breakfast Burrito. They were served with breakfast and a signature sauce that is so delicious, also ask for their special hot sauce if you like it spicy it's made with 8 different peppers I believe but it's a flavorful spice not knock you on your butt spice lol. Great find while in town. Had Chulla's signature omelets with the potatoes, and they were delicious! My wife had the French toast sticks and she devoured them, so my guess is they were amazing as well. Coffee is amazing as well, my wife keep commenting on it. It was my first time coming to the café. My expectations were high because I read the reviews on yelp and read the menu which had many unique items no other place has. I ordered the turkey sandwich and jalapeño poppers. I first ate the poppers which were round cheeseballs and the first cheeseball had little to no jalapeños inside, but the other two had a little more jalapeños. I did not taste much spice as these felt more like fried cheeseball. I then ate the turkey sandwich which was delicious. The turkey was moist and flavorful, not dry and the bread was soft. The turkey sandwich came with fries but, the fries were severely under cooked. The fries were thick cut fries so, under cooking them made it worse. The place was not busy so this could not be the excuse. There was only two other customers in the café when I was there. The staff was friendly and nice they did nothing wrong as far as customer service, it was the execution of the food that lacked the pizzazz I was expecting. I will go back and try more items and relay my feedback today about the quality of my food, after I have received my food so, that it may not be tampered with. read more

Wow - what a find. They opened in late 2020. A little hole in the wall place. They are tucked in a small building with a Subway. Look hard for the sign - it isn't obvious. The area is very safe. They are a small family place serving African dishes (Owner is from Guinea). He recommended the stews. We had the Jambalaya and the Black eyed peas. The Jambalaya was very flavorful with lots of vegetables - you mix the rice (wonderful by itself) and the grilled peppers and vegetables with the stew. It had lots of mixed seafood. Unique and wonderful. The black eye peas are the best my wife ever had. Again mix the rice and the veges with the stew. It had freshly grilled pork which was very special. Our food came out quickly, was the perfect temperature, and very tasty. This was my second time eating here and I am definitely not disappointed. Worst porkchop ever... Portion of the meal I received was A LOT smaller than in the pictures they have. The porkchops was so small that they cut it up so they can spread it apart and make it look bigger (owner even said we don't normally cut up the chops). But if you look at all the porkchops pictures, all are uncut and whole! All 3 porkchops orders we received was burnt underneath and dry Next one is the veggies, one strand of carrots?? Really? Rice was not cooked and was crunchy even with that butter garlic sauce they put on it. Pretty sure the owner saw all 3 of us on our table negative reaction, dismay when he brought over the food, so he didn't ask how everything was....
