10/10! We love Sam'l Hawaiian BBQ! We have been 3x and its delicious every time! The consistency is on point. The wings are perfectly crispy, flavored and not fatty! We had the lemon pepper and prob the best one I've had! We also REALLY enjoy the Kalbi ribs. It's a must each time!! The spam masubis and lumpia are delicious too!! Thank you for outstanding food and service.

Menu full of appetizing options [Roseville CA] I was so hungry then this caught my eye when leaving the Walmart|Sam's Club parking area. I was told they've been around for some 7 months in July 2025. Made a U-turn to check it out. Immediately greeted upon entering. This is a counter service restaurant. The menu included a mixture of Japanese, Filipino, Portuguese, and Chinese influences. I wanted to try everything but I decided on the lemon pepper wings and spam musubi. The dining area was spacious and tables were really spaced from each other. The wings were tasty and full of that lemon pepper flavor. The spam musubi wasn't stingy on the sauce and they came wrapped individually. I can't wait to return for the Loco Moco or the Kalbi short ribs! Review #4002

Came with the mister for a weekday lunch. When you enter, the order counter is immediately in front of you with large, clear menu screens. We received a friendly, welcoming greeting. We easily placed our order with the very nice lady. The restaurant is clean, spacious, & bright with tables & some bar seating. Island music plays in the background. The chairs are metal & loud against the cement floor, so best to lift them to move. Fountain drinks are self-serve, but refrigerated beverages are also available to purchase. Napkins, utensils, & hot oil were self-accessible. Each table had squeeze bottles of soy, sweet & sour, teriyaki, & katsu sauces. Our orders were brought to the table hot in to-go containers. We got two 2-item plates-- BBQ Beef--Flavorfully marinated, tender, some fatty edges BBQ Chicken--lightly flavored, soft, & juicy Kalua Pork--smoky, moist Katsu Chicken--nice crispy exterior Mac Salad--mayo heavy Rice--perfectly fine The plates come with cabbage, but it was nice to find we got a few pieces of carrot & a broccoli as well. They were just barely cooked & still crunchy bites of veg. We had friendly service, a satisfying meal, & a big portion of food for a reasonable price. We'd definitely come back.

We got the family meal and shared it between the three of us. Two adult and a toddler. Chicken Katsu: 5/5 BBQ Chicken: 4/5 Short Ribs: 4/5 6 scoop of rice and 6 scoops of mac salad We got left overs for the next day! Service was great and food came out at a good time. The restruant was clean. Will come back! Enjoyed everything.

First time at Sam'L Hawaiiam BBQ and they did not disappoint. They have generous portions of meat. The katsu and fish are crispy outside, juicy inside. Bbq beef and kalua pork are savory and delicious. They also have sauces - teriyaki, katsu and sweet & sour - which I really liked because they're not too sweet. Clean and fast service. We'll definitely come back.

We got to Sam L Hawaiian BBQ on Sunday morning around 10:55 and there was already a small line of people waiting, which was a good sign. They opened the doors a little early and started taking orders right away. The process was quick and smooth, and we found a table easily. Plenty of seating and the place was super clean, which you'd expect right after opening, but still nice to see. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, everyone had big smiles which made for a good first impression. I ordered the loco moco and my wife got the pick two with chicken katsu and galbi. The food came out fast, probably under 10 minutes, and the portions were huge. My loco moco had two big patties with lots of gravy. I asked for my eggs over medium but they came out over hard. Need that runny egg! The meat was pretty good, a little on the drier side, but the gravy was fire. The macaroni salad that came with it was solid, not amazing. It also came with 2 big scoops of rice and some veggies. The chicken katsu ended up being my favorite part -- big pieces of chicken, good crispy texture, really well done. The galbi had good flavor and wasn't too chewy, which can be hit or miss at some spots. My wife also had leftovers because of the generous portions. Overall, it was a good experience. Roseville needs a good Hawaiian spot and this might be it. We'll definitely be back to try more.

Bbq plate with katsu, bbq beef, and bbq chicken. Tons of food!

Tried this restaurant for the first time last week and I was very impressed! My new favorite place for Hawaiian bbq. The musubi was so flavorful! Getting that every time for sure. Also tried the lumpia which was average, and then I ordered the bbq plate. It came with chicken katsu, bbq chicken, and bbq beef. The katsu is so crispy and the bbq beef was very yummy! I love the sauce that comes on it. The Mac salad is a little boring and bland in my opinion. I'll probably just do rice next time. I ordered takeout so can't speak on the service or ambiance.

Great Kalbi Short Ribs! We used to pass this place when it was Roll-Em-Up Taquitos, on our way to Khan Mongolian BBQ a few doors down. TBH, couldn't figure out why someone would go to a restaurant to get taquitos. Then a few weeks ago, we noticed a sign for Sam'l. We didn't even realize the taquito place had closed lol. Pleasant, family-run business. Owner Sam runs it with his daughter, Mary. Huge menu. I got the bbq chicken and kalbi short ribs. Husband got the seafood and bbq chicken. We also tried their pork lumpia, spam musubi and potstickers. Lumpia was good, especially with their sweet and sour sauce. Not impressed with the potstickers. Tasted some of their ice creams (banana chocolate chip and mango calamansi) which weren't too bad. Reasonably priced at $5.50 each. I'd say their best dish is the kalbi short ribs. It was pretty amazing. The bbq chicken wasn't too bad either. They charge $1 extra if you opt for 2 mac, 1 rice like I usually do at L&L or Ono. Not worth it since the mac salad was kinda bland in my opinion. Rice wasn't very good either. Took quite a while to receive order. Would advise to call in the order if you don't have time to wait. Would go back for more kalbi short ribs and maybe husband to try one of their moco loco plates. Prices are reasonable, especially for Roseville. Many tables inside for dine-in also. Neat place!

Food tasted really good. Prices are good! Service was fast. Restaurant was nice. Besides the decent prices the food was all surprisingly good. 5 stars Bbq Chicken Mini plate. Chicken was tender and had good flavor. Hard to see but had some veggies like carrots, broccoli, and cabbage underneath the chicken. Mac salad was good. 5 stars Spam Musubi. Tasted pretty good. $6.49 for 2 not bad. Menu didn't specify how many pieces you get, but they both tasted good. 5 stars Pork Lumpia. Tasted good. Plenty of pork filling. 5 stars 6 Buffalo chicken wings. Good taste. Nice size wings. Not a bad price considering how much other restaurants are charging.

Garlic & Korean fried chicken wings

Ordered the mini Kalbi plate, mixed katsu/pork belly/ribs, spam musubi, garlic/korean chicken wings. We always go to Sam's Club nearby but never noticed this place. It was our first try and surprisingly, we loved every dish ordered. My mini rib plate was bigger than expected but full of flavor. The musubi has the perfect rice to spam ratio. Will definitely return whenever we go to Sam's Club.

First time coming here. We ordered online for a pickup. The order was ready when I got there. I got the grilled chicken, chicken katsu, and the bbq beef. Also, got double Mac instead of rice. Reasonable prices and delicious meats. There were pieces of carrots, a giant piece or broccoli, and a nice bed of shredded cabbage under the meat. Definitely will be back when craving Hawaiian bbq.

Teriyaki chicken, rice, Mac salad, and strawberry drink.

I got an early dinner to-go. Food was ready quickly! Staff was very friendly and recommended me a fruit drink (which was very good). Restaurant seating was very clean. Food was excellent and tasted fantastic!

The beef ribs were huge, incredibly tender, and packed with smoky flavor. The pork ribs were the best I've had in a long time--cooked to perfection with just the right amount of bite. The atmosphere has a fun country vibe, right down to the cowboy hat-wearing servers. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. I didn't see regular French fries on their menu. We asked after very friendly server said they had regular fries. I already ordered a baked potato. I love most all potatoes. Stopped by Buckhorn for the first time for Father's Day lunch. Great joint for pretty good BBQ!…read more Buckhorn is an order at the counter and get a number type place. The line was long when we came in, but moved quickly. The bigger problem is that there aren't nearly enough tables for how many folks were dining in. We did end up finding a table on their patio- which is always a win for our family. For about $70, we got two kids' meals (one slider and one chicken tenders), a shareables order of the tri-tip tacos (that my wife ate as her entree), and a two-protein platter with the pulled pork and tri-tip. They asked how we wanted our tri-tip cooked, and we answered medium, but all of the tri-tip came out well done. The flavors of everything were good, though, and the portions are substantial. The kids' meals are a great value. The two-protein platter was enough for two meals if you wanted it to be. The tacos were filled generously and were very tasty. I enjoyed the coleslaw- though I read some others find it bland. I did not think that at all. I really enjoyed the selection of sauces available at Buckhorn. They have a pump-your-own-sauce station with several types of BBQ sauce, horseradish sauce, ketchup, and spicy ranch. Yum! My favorite was the mustard-based BBQ sauce. Overall, I would totally return to Buckhorn. I could probably lean 4 stars here, but I think it's a better spot for BBQ than many others in my area and in the Roseville area that I've tried. We bought another side, macaroni salad. We requested that the pulled pork be placed on the side and additional sauce. I dislike being that customer with persnickety preferences. But we were, and they didn't blink an eye. Super accommodating. The pulled pork had a deep smoky flavor. Tender shredded pieces. Mmm. The sauce was served on the side. That too was delicious.
