Maui French Toast
Jeannie K.

Marios early toast is always 5/5 amazing food and service. My go to is always their Maui French toast and I always ask for the caramel sauce on the side. My husband got their California burrito and wow it was massive! It had bacon inside and the melted cheese and pico de gallo on top was delicious. He said he would definitely order it again

We went to have breakfast we usually go to the Rocklin location. I have heard they are all good. But this has been our go to location. This time I tried something different. I had the Country Benedict. It was amazing! Of course like their other dishes.

The food was nicely seasoned and the eggs were perfectly over medium like I had ordered( I ordered the green enchiladas). The staff were very friendly and welcoming . We went at a busy time but we didn't have to wait long for our orders . My little bro loves the Mickey Mouse pancakes they actually looked pretty good and I'm not a fan of pancakes lol ..

12.05.25 Chai latte, very good!! Perfect to sip on out on the patio on a cool, crisp Saturday morning!!

12.05.25 Familiar with Mario's Early Toast fare, this was our first time at this location. We knew we'd be in the area to shop and so last minute planned to grab breakfast here to fuel ourselves for the day ahead. It was a Saturday at around 10:30am, typical weekend morning rush time. We were afraid there'd be a long wait. Walking up, we saw several parties waiting to be seated but still took a chance. When greeted by the hostess, we were told it'd be a 25-30min wait, or we could be seated in the patio. Hubs was more than ok with that immediate seating option, so I just made sure they had heat lamps before agreeing. There were several open tables, as this Saturday was a grey, gloomy, and chilly morning. TG for heat lamps!! Otherwise, I may not have lasted. Our server, Miriam, was so pleasant and friendly, making our entire experience enjoyable and is the main reason for this review being written!!! Food was great, as expected based on our previous visits to the other Roseville locations. But it was Miriam's service that took it to the next level! I do want to add one thing. I ordered a chai latte to keep myself warm on the patio. While it came out piping hot (I ordered extra hot cuz that's how I do), my only qualm is the mugs they use. Initially it looks cool because it looks huge based on how WIDE it is. But the mug is also super shallow. I knew right away that once I started drinking it, my beverage would get cold fast & easily....too much surface space exposed to the cold air and not enough depth to keep it warm! When I order a hot beverage like a latte, I want to be able to drink it over the course of my meal, or most of it at least, without it going cold cuz that's defeats the purpose for me. Because of this, I also ended up ordering a coffee towards the end. But besides that, food was great & came out timely, service was wonderful and I would absolutely return and even bring people! I know Mario's is expanding, and I congratulate him and wish him all the continued success!! He certainly has figured out how to please the crowds and hire the right people to maintain the top-notch quality and standards!!! I'll look forward to more meals in the future. If you're in the area, this location is right off the 80 freeway, so it's convenient to get to with plenty of parking. Check them out when you can and know, anything you order will be great! All while supporting local, you can feel good about spending your money and giving your business here, without a doubt!!!

Met friends for brunch/lunch and enjoyed a beautiful Sunday outside in covered dining area. So many delicious sounding options and I decided on the corned beef hash with egg whites and sourdough toast. Toast usually doesn't even get a mention, but it was delicious. Thicker than Texas toast and the sourness from the sourdough with melted butter was heavenly. The egg whites were cooked well, nice sized potato chunks but sadly, the corned beef was a miss. Cubed, not dry but not tender, and tasted like it had been sitting in water...completely flavorless. The skillet overall was bland but a little salt and pepper saved the day for the egg whites and potatoes. My most favorite thing was the sourdough toast..absolutely delicious.

A huge biscuit and sausage gravy. Meh.

From the looks of the restaurant outside and when you get inside, you feel very welcome, the employees are friendly. The decor is spot on and it feels like a really neat place to hang out for a while and have a great meal. One of the cleanest, nicest eateries I've been in. We weren't so impressed with the food and I absolutely hate giving not so good reviews which I rarely do, but it wasn't the service (which was stellar), it was the food that didn't taste as we both expected it too, especially with the reviews from recent. I'm very disappointed because I really wanted this to be our new place to go visit for brunch or breakfast, but it just fell short for us. Maybe it was just a bad day, I hope. This place seems to do quite well with the locals.

Auburn's been waiting for this restaurant to open for almost 2 years. Well it's here and so far so good. We've only gone for breakfast and it was super good. My only complaint is they don't offer real espresso drinks, auto Machine style only. Looking forward to trying their lunch and dinners. Right outside lake of the pines gate which is a win/win for us.

Wanted to find a new place to add to our brunch list and this was a must try. Both times we have shown up it has been packed and about a 30+ minute wait, but all good they move pretty fast and have seats for waiting. They have seating both inside and outside, with outside being pet friendly which is a major plus. I have tried a few items so far and enjoyed every one of them. The first was a BLT, which comes with a decent amount of tasty bacon and fresh seasonal fruit for my side. The second time I got a Maui French toast. It had such a nice crunch, with so many wonderful flavors but boy oh boy is it sweet, you might want to add on a savory side to help with some of the sweetness. We've enjoyed all the food we've ordered and will for sure be back again with family & friends. The only thing I wish is they brewed their own iced tea, as the taste of the Lipton tea is terrible. But if you like mimosas they definitely have a bunch of flavors for you to try!

The service was great here. Very large inside great for big parties. My only complaint on the food would be that the hashbrowns were undercooked and under seasoned. They have a great selection on their menu and probably the biggest mimosa menu I have ever seen. We had the smoked salmon, avocado toast, which was absolutely delicious. However, do be aware. They are very large portions you might want to share. I would totally recommend this place especially if you're looking for something

Stopped in this morning around 1030 for breakfast. This location is always very busy but they do a great job turning tables. We were quoted a 20-25 min wait and we were seated about 20 mins later. Our waitress Angie was super attentive even as she had multiple tables. I ordered basic bacon and eggs breakfast and my husband got crepes - all was great - I forgot to take food pics as I was so hungry - need more waitresses like Angie as she was attentive and fast ... out foo came out quick too!! She als kept out coffee filled and warm ... it was loud in the booth as the back area was packed with families and kids were screaming ...otherwise a nice decorated atmosphere. Luckily I found a parking spot right out front as others were circling since apparently the hotel and fast food restaurants will tow your vehicle if you park in their areas. Mario's is always a great choice!!

Mimosa
Rosi B.

Great service and an incredibly attentive staff made this brunch spot a standout! We were seated quickly, even with the place already lively at 8AM. The menu has so many tempting options, it's definitely worth coming back to try more. If you're not sure where to start, the chilaquiles are a must and don't skip the pancakes! Overall, a fantastic brunch experience we'll be repeating.

Fabulous! Way to many choices on the menu. Everything looked super tasty. I finally chose from the Hawaiian section - yeah me. Yummy. Egg, rice, steak, onion, avocado w flavorful seasonings. Included was sourdough toast. So much scramble, I had enough for tomorrow's breakfast. As I looked around the guest appeared happy and full. The restaurant was lively. Our waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu choices. Food was served promptly. Only disappointment was of my own fault. I didn't order the mimosa flight. For sure next time.

Super amazing place!

Really nice place if you're having breakfast or lunch with friends or family. I was roadtripping alone. I sat in the outside garden area (covered) on a brisk winter morning the space heaters made it very comfortable. The staff was very attentive and welcoming, the vibe was cool lots of families I had lemon blueberry pancakes and coffee that they kept topped off and hot! The pancakes were very sweet maybe a little too sweet for my taste but they have a decent size menu so lots to choose from on my next visit.. I got real lucky and got front row parking, but BEWARE not to park in any of the nearby businesses there are signs everywhere warning that Jack n box TOWS!! Anyways I had a good breakfast and got right back on the road.

I'm not a fan of onions, so I did not have those, but it was nice to have the lettuce and the tomatoes have that nice taste when it hasn't been smothered in BBQ sauce or others as it's being cooked by the chicken like other places prepare them. The Owner's Yelp business description states they "specialize in breakfast", which sounded awesome. Reviews and photos looked so promising. Our experience was nothing like what others have shared though :( The space is nice and spacious, with an old school vibe which we liked, and we were so hopeful upon entering for the first time. Service was polite enough...but felt insincere and disinterested in taking good care of the customer. The one employee who I felt actually cared was the hostess, but the waitstaff seem to just be going through the motions. We shared it was our first time coming and we were excited to treat ourselves to a rare breakfast out. We needed a few extra minutes to study the menu since it was our first visit, but then we got forgotten about. I attempted to catch the waitresses attention numerous times with no success. After waiting about ten minutes longer than was reasonable, I did seek out the hostess's help in tracking down someone who could take our order. She was super apologetic, but of course it wasn't her job as she was busy seating people and handling her own tasks. The biggest disappointment was the food - in looking back at the photos the French toast we ordered looked nothing like the photos - first, when I asked what the difference between the 1/2 and full order was we were told it was 4 slices vs. 6 slices. That definitely seemed to justify the price so we ordered a half order for my young boy and I to share. What came out was shockingly different - it was two tiny slices of bread that looked like the inexpensive sliced grocery store bread. Because it was already small thinly sliced bread before being cooked, it was truly tiny once plated. We were honestly surprised they felt comfortable serving it. Maybe they ran out of their thick large French toast bread? No matter, they certainly shouldn't have served what we received though. It was confusing and embarrassing, IMO. So, we were misinformed that it was a 4 slice portion when it was 2 small thin slices of bread cut in half...that is not 4 slices of French toast. And then the waitress didn't come around our entire meal so I couldn't inquire about it until we were done. I ended up giving the French toast to my boy who ate it all in under 120 seconds, no joke (because there wasn't much to eat) and then he said he was still hungry. I, too, was quite hungry. Other family members agreed that the taste was good, but nothing special, and the servings did not match the high prices. So, the food was tasty enough but the portions were unreasonably small and do not justify the price, the service lacks greatly, and the misinformation was truly disappointing and misleading. When I did politely ask at the end about why she said it was 4 slices vs. 6 slices the waitress backpedaled stating she meant it was 4 halves vs. 6 halves...and then she apologized that we were leaving hungry and offered me a biscuit. ??? Why would I want a biscuit? I just wanted the meal the waitress told me I was ordering. I wanted what some previous customers have shared in their photos here. The French toast in the photos here on Yelp looks legit and exactly what we wanted and expected...again, so odd the kitchen staff felt comfortable plating up the order we received. Zero quality control there. Honestly, it was just a weird and disappointing experience that had us leaving hungry and unsatisfied, so we went home and prepared a meal there. We are super chill people with realistic expectations, so for us to struggle with this first experience says a lot about how subpar it was. The price of a soft drink is unreasonable as well ($5) - which isn't a huge deal, but with the disappointing food it was just the icing on the cake. A large cup is served but it's completely filled with ice. When asked if we wanted a refill she brought a small cup over with 85% ice and some soda, using that small cup to refill the large cup...splashing soda all over the table and then having to use her dirty damp rag shoved in her apron pocket to clean it up around our food plates, which was definitely unsanitary and made us cringe. There were customers there though - not sure if they were first-timers like us due to the new Farmers Market, but maybe they do have a repeat clientele so none of this matters to them because they can keep their doors open without new customers like us. Sad to try a local business we were excited about and then have this disappointing experience. We envisioned making trips to the new Farmers Market across the street often and then enjoying a wonderful breakfast afterwards, as a nice new Saturday morning tradition. Sadly we will not be returning to this restaurant.

Between the time of the first check & "now", she HAD fallen on the semi-wet floor & couldn't get up by herself. My wife has Parkinson's disease . I helped her up but we had to leave immediately for the Emergency Room - she had broken something in her arm! After casting her wrist (& having x-rays of her head, neck wrist, & arm), we drove home. The next day, Wednesday, January 21st, I talked with another friend at Huckelberries while I was picking up an Arnold Palmer for my wife, I jokingly said that we should sue the establishment. After a couple of laughs, I reiterated that this was just a joke. She shared this information with Dominic, her manager. Dominic immediately texted me saying we could no longer eat there. Also if ANYONE working there talked with myself or my wife, they would be fired immediately! I shared with him that I had been joking & I stated that we would not do anything more. I was just JOKING. I hope this was just an isolated experience because the restaurant has potential.

They use real potatoes instead of french fries. It's a solid breakfast sandwich. Just make sure to get hot sauce!!!!!

Finally took a very popular recommendation and tried Short Stuff. I can say it's my favorite…read morebreakfast burrito in the area. Close second being taco exxpress in Rocklin. If you like crispy tater tots and heavy mayo-based sauces in your breakfast burrito, this one isn't for you. But if you just want a classic burrito with plenty of bacon, good melted cheese, perfect ratio of egg/meat/potato, get the David's wrap. Price was reasonable too. It's not the biggest burrito but not the smallest either. To be honest, I was a little turned off at first. Not because it was in a gas station (that actually gives me higher expectations), but because I asked for the burrito and was given one premade out of the warmer. Also, maybe I didn't look around very much, but I didn't see any salsa. When I got home and tried it though, it was pretty perfect. Tortilla maybe a little burnt, but besides that perfect. Luckily I had a good hot runny salsa at home which works perfect for breakfast burritos. I'll be back next time and ask if they have salsa though - that would push it to 5 stars (if the salsa is good I guess).

Came as a party of 3 on a Sunday and waited about 20 mins outside. Not a lot of places to wait but in the sun. Finally got sat. Ordered 3 items and three drinks. They have a large selection of mimosas and drinks and the menu is vast. There was something for everyone. They even had a whole fit menu with protein pancakes I was impressed. Food was a little slow to come out. And when they came out, they tried to serve me burnt hashbrowns. They were black and it was hard to believe the staff was okay serving that to a customer. Not a problem, I let the server know and he brought me out a fresh batch instantly. It was busy and things were a little slow but I would come back. The food itself was delicious and really good quality.

I usually order the CrossFit Breakfast because it's packed with protein, but there's truly something for everyone. Just be sure to get there early the lines can get pretty long, especially on weekends. Thankfully, they have an easy-to-use waitlist system that lets you track your place in line. Overall, a great spot for a hearty breakfast, and it's definitely worth the wait.
