We sat at the bar and had a great experience. There was someone playing the saxophone live which was really nice. We ordered the lobster bites which were incredible along with the short rib and burger. The were both really good but we thought the burger was better. Sam was our bartender/server for the night. He made great drinks and great recommendations.

Found it, when I was in town and decided to celebrate my anniversary. This spot has a nice date night vibe. Although it's at the mall it was nice. They had a guy in there playing jazz on a saxophone, the lighting was nice. All around good vibe. The service was really good our waitresses was very attentive to our table. Now the food: Lobster bites- they were pretty good. Seasoned well, but a tad bit too much breading. Ribeye- really good! Seasoned well, cooked to my liking. Garlic mashed potatoes- really good and flavor Mac and cheese- a little too watery. Greens- full of flavor

I had been wanting to come here for a couple years after reading the excellent reviews and had noticed reservations were booked weeks in advance. We came here on an early Saturday evening. The place has a modern and elegant design. There was live music with saxophone playing that really added to the experience. My old fashioned cocktail was very generous and strong which gave me a light buzz. The appetizers and entrees were generously portioned, savory and richly flavored. I had the ribeye cap cooked medium rare. My wife had the Jumbalaya that was mildly spicy and gave me a mild sweat. My favorite was my son's fried chicken and mashed potatoes that tasted like Southern Heaven. The peach cobbler was a modern take that was a great note for the end. The hostess and wait staff were super friendly and attentive. Overall we had an excellent experience and look forward to coming back.

Ambiance was amazing, super cute and definitely a date night/special occasion kind of place. We had really high expectations coming in, but unfortunately the experience was pretty mid overall. The bread appetizer was delicious and dessert was absolutely bomb, but our steak was ordered medium and came out basically well done. Also, our waitress seemed to have no idea about the menu. Every question we asked was answered with "I don't know, I'm new." That was honestly frustrating for a place at this price point. The best part of the night was actually the bartender, who came over to check on us after noticing something was off. They were super kind, accommodating, and genuinely tried to make the experience better. They removed the included tip from our bill, though of course we still tipped. Such a bummer because I really wanted to love this place, but sadly we won't be returning. I don't want to include names, but i definitely have it!

Oysters, careful they advertise them as 4 and then ask if you want a 1/2 or full dozen then charge you extra for getting 6

Food 5 stars! Ambiance 3 stars: clean and beautiful live music but a swamp cooler blew in my face throughout our entire dinner. Service 2 stars: our served was just OK and not super attentive as my drink sat at the bar for over 6 minutes and the non alcoholic drink came 5 min after that .....he seemed overwhelmed by the three tables he had. Beef Wellington, fried lobster bites and oysters were all 10/10! $82 for a ribeye is crazy high and although it was very good that's a little crazy, $18 for broccoli, $18 a glass for 'blended' wine..... fun experience but prob won't be back.

When I ask people recommendations for dinner, some people would suggest Q1227. I wish I could give it a second try but our first time here was soooo underwhelming. The service from the hostess to server was TERRIBLE. I made reservations for my husband's bday dinner and not that we were expecting anything above and beyond.... Just baseline service - not that we were a nuisance. We waited an additional hour for our table, we were sat outside during a very cold night, and it took approximately 20 mins to get menus and another 10 mins after for a water. Our dinner was rushed because they wanted to turn our table for the next reservation but this urgency and courtesy was far from what was provided to us. The food was ok. The atmosphere was very chain restaurant vibes. The only memorable thing was the service - and not in a positive light. Speaking of which, when we sat outside there was no light on our table so it was an unwanted sensory experience.

A delicious black owned restaurant at the Galleria I can't wait to go back. The service was great. Came here for a birthday, came back for anniversary. The second time they had live music. The bread bowl is something special. Highly recommend a lot of items but I will always start with the bread bowl. The shrimp n grits were simple but good flavor no gravy. We got broccolini, shrimp, salmon, lobster bites, and a seasonal drink. I would order everything again.

Service was great. Very attentive and accommodating. Ambiance was wonderful, so well decorated, warm lighting, lots of selfie opportunities. Food was pretty delicious. Only one critique, too much pot liquor in the collard greens.

My friends and family celebrated my 48th birthday last night at this beautiful restaurant. There's construction outside, which was inconvenient but we were able to get around it. The staff and service surpassed all of our expectations. Classy, good vibes and live jazz music really complimented the night. The food was delectable and our wine drinkers loved the selection they chose with the help of our amazing server. Again the place is stunning, food is perfection and the service top notch. A easy five star!

    Jambalaya?!

Wow! I was very disappointed in q1227. I had went there back when they were away from the mall area and they were great! However when I went back to the new location it was so bad. The jambalaya had 2 little crab claws in it over yellow rice?! The gumbo is literally a small bowl for 18! And has no flavor The branzino was probably the only decent item. Greens horrible I don't know what happened with the new location but for the hype and chef I was very disappointed Overpriced and no flavor! Won't be coming back

Love this place but it is the first time I've been here since they moved from the last location and I have to say they haven't missed a beat. Was in the area and stopped by during happy hour, I was not disappointed, menu has a lot of variety. Walked in and was greeted warmly, staff was attentive and friendly through my entire visit as always. The dining room is nice, not a bad seat in the place, just a very nice place to have a meal (they have a tv in the bar if there's a game). Ordered the crab cakes, they were seasoned well, more crab than cake and the remolaude that came with it paired great. Also got the wings, full sized, cooked perfectly and sauce would make anything taste amazing. Def coming back for a full meal soon 5/5

The ambiance is beautiful and truly sets the tone for a fine-dining experience. My mother had been wanting to dine here for quite some time, so I decided to take her. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant, an area with a lot of activity as servers moved constantly throughout the space. In the future, I would request a booth or one of the tables along the wall for a more relaxed experience. The lighting is dim, with a small table lamp placed at the center of the table, which was very helpful when reading the menu. We decided to go all out and ordered champagne and Moscato, a spinach artichoke dip to start, a crab Louie salad to share, ginger lamb, beef Wellington, broccolini, greens, and mac and cheese. **Spinach Artichoke Dip:** Unfortunately, this was watery and lacked flavor. The most noticeable taste came from the grill marks on the toast it was served with. **Crab Louie Salad:** This dish featured a generous portion of lump crab meat and was served wedge-style with sliced egg and cherry tomatoes. It was nicely presented and enjoyable. **Ginger Lamb:** My mother enjoyed this dish. **Beef Wellington:** I was pleased that the ground mustard flavor was not overpowering. The meat was cooked to perfection and sliced like butter; however, no particular flavors stood out. **Mac and Cheese:** Very basic and unremarkable. **Broccolini:** It was well prepared and looked delicious, though it was a bit too oily for my taste. For dessert, I initially ordered the bread pudding, but it was doughy and lacked flavor. I exchanged it for the flourless chocolate cheesecake, which was amazing. My mother ordered the same dessert. We also had coffee, which was served in a generously sized mug and was excellent. Overall, I'm glad I had the experience. The total came to over $400, including the automatically added 18% gratuity. The service, however, was impeccable. The staff genuinely cares about the guest experience. The chef personally visits tables to introduce himself, check in, and offer assistance. The management team is attentive, and the servers are phenomenal. I would return for the outstanding service and to enjoy drinks at the bar during happy hour. That said, I'm not sure I would return for dinner, as I felt underwhelmed given the price point.

    Garlic cheese loaf

I had been hearing about this place for a few years, and it came highly recommended so we decided to try it for dinner with friends. The space is somewhat romantically lit, with open walking spaces between tables. We were seated at a booth, which afforded us a good view of the rest of the restaurant and bar area. Our waiter was amazing! Very attentive, competent and personable and made several suggestions since it was our first time here. We placed our food order and also ordered the garlic cheese loaf and artichoke beignet to share. The garlic cheese loaf was really good, with an appropriate mix of cheese and garlic flavors in a medium loaf with a crunchy crust and soft insides. The beignets, on the other hand, were so small, they should be removed from the shareable menu. We got 5 small balls, about the size of large marbles on a bed of sauce. The flavor was ok but they definitely need to be larger if they are meant to be shared. It took about 20-30 mins for our dinner food to arrive. First, the branzini, a whole fish, flash fried in various seasonings, had the best presentation and flavor. The waiter offered to debone it for me and I agreed, just to watch his process. I opted for a side of greens that were just meh. My wife got the salmon, which came on a bed of mashed potatoes. It was cooked properly but was lacking in flavor adn was a much smaller cut than expected, based on the prices. We also tried the mac and cheese, which was also lacking in flavor. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding with bourbon creme sauce. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing selection of the evening. The consistency of the "bread" was very soft, almost like milk toast and the creme sauce had no bourbon flavor, or any other flavor for that matter. It was just a white sauce that smothered the bread pudding. I'm not sure if it was just an off-night for the chef but for an upscale soul food restaurant, this one misses the mark for me.

Q1227 Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Q1227 Restaurant

Does the new place serve wine?

Yes! No liquor yet, but plenty of wine.

Does Q1227 do anything special for birthdays?

When I went there it was my birthday and the restaurant knew that, since it was put on the reservation and the server was also made aware. They did not do anything to recognize the occasion. That is the one thing that was disappointing to me since…

How noisy is it? For example can a party of 7 hear each other without yelling?

I would say it depends on what you find annoying! I personally was able to hear that others were talking but it doesn’t bother me! There was a table of 4 guys next to us very excited about the lamb chops as it was a huge display ! I could hear them…

    Are there any vegan options?

I am not sure. BUT IF I were you I would pick a different restaurant.

How much does the The Big Boy Creekstone bone-in rib-eye steak meal cost? I know it's market price but what's the range that it can cost?

I think it was around $145-150 last year.

Does Q1227 allow customers to bring their own wine for an uncorking fee?

Q1227 allows customers to bring up to 2 bottles of wine without a corkage fee. There is a fee for the 3rd bottle or more.

Does the establishment serve alcoholic drinks in addition to the wine selection?

They do. They serve Beer, wine and great cocktails!

How many days advance do I need for reservations?

It was a month at the time I made mine.

How are the prices average for 2 ppl?

if drink appet. main and dessert...$80-100 per person

How much is the grilled seafood platter?

    183.00$

Do you have to have a reservation ? Or could my husband and I just show up?

Reservations aren't required, but it's a popular place and a bit of a gamble in my opinion to not have them. I've gone twice without reservations and was seated after a short wait.

    Do they have kid options?

    Yes!

R they halal? If yes y do they serve pork does it cause cross contamination?

They do serve pork. The best tomahawk pork chop. It's enough for two meals.

    Do they have vegan options?

    Yes

    Do you need a reservation?

No, but it most definitely helps. Walk ins can always sit at the bar without reservations too. Note: bar space sits 7 customers

Are you open for dining? I tried calling and there's no answer. Are you open today?

I believe they are closed on Sundays & Mondays. They open at 5pm

Do they have any gluten free options?

Yes, they do! Their menu is seasonal though, so check before you make reservations.

Is there a wine list I could see? Also what is the corkage?

There is no corkage on first 2 bottles of wine you bring.

What is the price point? Beers on Menu?

Right now only wine until liquor license is completed. Price for 2 with drinks and an order to go was $120.

We ordered the cheesesteak rolls to start, and I had to try the popular Bubble Bliss drink. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the rolls were, as we weren't quite sure what to expect from a cheesesteak roll. When our entrées arrived, every single one of us enjoyed what we ordered, so we decided to share with one another. We had the fried calamari appetizer and it was delicious, not greasy at all and had fried green beans and onions mixed in. Wife loved her grilled salmon entree. We both enjoyed our cocktails as well. Service was fairly good overall, although it took a long time before our server came to take our order and service was just all around slow. Very friendly though. Cons: My entree was not good. Ordered the pappardelle with short rib ragu. This was NOT a ragu as it is commonly known, it was more of a cream sauce with some meat in it. The pasta was swimming in cream. And I hate cream sauce. I never would have ordered it had the menu description said it was a cream sauce. The server offered to make me another entree but I did not want to wait another 30 minutes so I choked down what I had. Value is not good. The burger is $20, for example. Prices are a bit too high for the experience you are getting. Verdict: We may be back, as 2/3 of the food was quite good, they just failed on my pasta dish. But it's pricey, so who knows. Moderate recommendation.

The food, service, and ambiance were all terrific and made for a comfortable, delicious experience we will be returning to soon. We had tried going there once before about 6 months ago, but the wait was too long for our schedule that day. Yesterday, our party of four showed up at 11, and the wait was only 10 minutes. Our server, Kristin, was amazing. She answered our questions perfectly and without hesitation; she was always there to refill iced tea and bring anything additional we needed - the service was flawless in every way. We were at a booth for four, and the booths are comfortable and clean. The layout of the restaurant is efficient, and perfect for the dining experience FSC is offering. And the food? Off the charts 5/5! I hadn't had pancakes in a long time, so I ordered the blueberry pancakes. The two pancakes were both massive and delicious. Fresh blueberries in the batter and on top, and they were perfectly ripe and flavorful. I can't envision anyone actually finishing all of it, but I was happy to take home leftovers. The pancakes were fluffy and light, among the best I have ever had. I also had a side of the house-cured bacon, which I requested crispy, and which arrived perfectly crispy and delicious. Mrs. K had the blue cheese burger and loved it. I was granted a taste, and I agreed. Juicy, prepared exactly as ordered, and served with exceptional fries that were crispy outside and soft inside. Our friends had various forms of eggs and bacon, including a dish FSC calls Beggin' For Bacon. The egg dishes looked perfect, and our friends confirmed they tasted as perfect as they looked. FSC gets a ton of 5-star reviews, and they deserve every one. We will be returning soon and often, and obviously, I highly recommend FSC for your next breakfast/lunch outing.

My first time there I got the corned beef and hash. The corned beef was great, the potatoes could be so much better though. They need to be crisp and well seasoned, they were neither. Maybe you can ask for them extra crispy? The next time I visited I had a BBQ chicken sandwich. The chicken was kinda dry, the sauce tasted good though. I also didn't like how it was assembled, it seemed kinda tossed on the bun and sent out. They are so busy here, and I wish they would just take a little extra time in the kitchen to make the food as great as the service. I enjoyed my burger and fries. It was a good deal as a lunch menu item, which is offered until 3 p.m. The fish tacos were decent (maybe a little on the bland side) but still a nice option to have. The wings were dry, which our kid said isn't usually the norm since they order them regularly, but the mac 'n cheese balls were a hit, as usual. Service here is friendly, and the hostesses were warm and welcoming when we first walked in. Our server, Jessica B., was friendly and accommodating, offered solid recommendations, and checked in with us frequently without being overbearing. Our biggest bone to pick, though, was with the chairs in the outdoor seating area. All three of us were uncomfortable and hurting after a relatively short amount of time. I'd definitely recommend grabbing a booth inside, and that's what we'll likely do.

Original review: Seems Everytime we come now there's issues. This time we just walked out! I made reservations, requested a booth then was told the wait for inside would be over an hour. Even with my reservation. There were half booths open and the table that was supposed to be for us was given to another person. (What I mean is she took the table) and the staff didn't do anything. We used to come here every weekend. Sadly this place has gone downhill. I think we're done with this place!

Plenty of seating, a comfortable atmosphere, and service that was fast and attentive without feeling rushed. The food had some highs and lows, but those Brussels sprouts were legitimately good enough that we finished the first plate and immediately ordered another Parking? Lot. Plenty of parking We had: Brussels Sprouts (5/5): These were ridiculously good. Perfectly cooked with that elusive balance of crispy edges and tender centers, with enough flavor to make them addictive without burying the sprouts themselves. We finished the first plate and subsequently ordered another Steak Frites (3/5): The flavor was there. The steak was well marinated with plenty of savory depth, but the texture held it back. It was noticeably chewy and never quite delivered that tender bite you want from steak frites. The fries were fine, but thicker and softer than I prefer. A thinner, crispier fry would have added some much needed textural contrast. Good foundation, but the execution needed tightening

The Range is a good place to get a drink or a meal with family and friends. It has such a cool vibe! Service was great as well. We came for happy hour, but I didn't see any HH specials the day we came. They just served their regular menu. That said, prices and portions were pretty standard. Standouts were the Brussels and bacon, and the soju cocktails. The chicken sliders and meatballs were okay but nothing memorable. I plan to try their pizza next time as well as their brunch. A good neighborhood spot with lots of parking. I recommend checking them out.

Servers are friendly but a little less punctual than I'd expect for a surf-and-turf style restaurant. Apps were very good, balanced, delicious and paired well w/ the meal. Portions were decent. Had the cowboy ribeye and was a bit disappointed. The cut itself was very sinew-y and had large chunks of fat hanging off that needed to be trimmed or reduced in the prep portion. Flavor was OK. Drinks were solid - plenty of beer, wine, and cocktails with a good variety and good balance.

I ordered the Thai Noodle Wagyu sirloin salad & my steak was very tough & gristly plus a little too rare than I liked so I shared a few of those pieces with my wife. She also agreed gristly which is a big no-no for her too. My wife had the salmon over rice & broccolini which she paid extra bc she's not a fan of cooked spinach. Her plate was very hot which kept her salmon warm to eat which was a huge plus. She definitely needed the steak knife to cut the broccolini. She was much happier with her dish more so than I was with my dish. But she felt her salmon wasn't too memorable taste wise. Our server was great & the ambiance of the restaurant was nice. We sat in a booth in the back of the restaurant. I doubt if we would return though.

He kept checking on us and answered our questions. The food was delicious. I ate all of my sandwich and per my server's recommendation, I got the potato salad instead of the pasta salad. This potato salad was SO GOOD! I ate all of it and enjoyed every bite. When I go back, I would like to try a dessert. There was just no room today. Overall, this place is worth checking out! I am already looking forward to going back.
