The brisket and marinated beef were juicy, flavorful, and grilled to perfection. Loved the banchan variety, and the Doenjang-jjigae (soybean stew) was super comforting and came out bubbling hot. btw this place is pricy $$ They also serve cold noodles--perfectly chewy and refreshing--and brought us a free Korean yogurt drink at the end, which was such a cute touch! The restaurant has private booth seating, traditional decor, and a cozy vibe. Friendly service and fair pricing for the quality. Highly recommend for a chill Korean BBQ night!

    Galbi dinner at Chung Dam

My wife and I recently visited Korea Town in Duluth, GA. Our first night, we dined at Chung Dam and had a wonderful experience. We were quickly seated and served by a delightful and attentive waitress! The Galbi meal we had was out of this world. The Bonchon (side dishes) were all superb. Particularly good kimchi and soup dishes. Generous portions as well. We liked it so much we went back the next night, and they hit another home run! Highly recommend!

Ambient restaurant with seating that allows privacy Things you should know: I. PARKING Chung Dam is right of the HMart Plaza, so the massive shared parking lot out front has a lot of availability for your car. II. SERVICE We were seated in a room. No bell was available to ring for a waitress, so we physically had to get up multiple times since they don't check on you here. Once you order, the food comes out fairly quick. III. QUALITY We enjoyed the banchan and I highly recommend trying the Braised Butterfish ~ it is so tenderly cooked it'll melt in your mouth. You can buy it alone as an entree or order it as a "family" option. IV. CAPACITY Fair amount of available seating at lunch time.

We all drove far OTP, all the way to Duluth really just wanted to get hold of Tiger Sugar. But we were far too shocked from seeing the lines looping around the store and behind. We were not going to head back to the city and I suggested to everyone we could check out the Hmart here. One of us said we could even find a restaurant in the area. We agreed and parked at the Hmart parking lot. Then another suggested we could check out the Korean bbq restaurant that looked like a huge restaurant from the outside. The staff greeted us upon entering, spoke to us in Korean, and took our temperature. Looking around, I realized almost all the patrons were Koreans. This definitely was a positive sign, meaning the place would not be too bad and legit. The staff led us in and seated us in a room. Woo-hoo!! One of us said they must have thought I am Korean. I said can't be, Korean girls are fair and pretty. Another staff came, greeted us and gave me the menu while speaking in Korean. Realizing I do not speak Korean, she spoke in good English. We all decided to opt for the unlimited kbbq. The same staff went away and prepared the meat. SERVICE 5/5 The same staff actually was going to be the one doing the grilling for us. She was super nice, very attentive and helpful. I like her service way more than those I encountered at Ms Gogi and Kfactory bbq. Maybe those staffs were younger and more aloof. This staff was really nice like my mom, though my mom would not be the one grilling any meat for us. AMBIENCE 5/5 We all love the room. It would be a bit tight if there were 6 of us. The room actually sits 6 persons. FOOD 5/5 The meat was of high quality. I love the Bulgogi the most. The banchan given was more than generous and of a huge variety compared to Ms Gogi and Kfactiry. The steamed egg was delicious. That soybean stew at the end of our bbq session was to die for. They also offered free hot barley tea. I definitely recommend anyone to check out Chung Dam if you are in the area. I would be happy to go kbbq again when I am in the area. 5 stars from me to Chung Dam :) 04.03.2021

My friends invite me here once because he said " their lunch box is awesome, you definitely want to try out。" First impression of restaurant, the waitress are so zealous and friendly said" an ne ha se yo" and make me very warm and feel like at home ha 。( )。First we got some side dishes like Kimichi, bean sprouts, broccoli, mush potato. I personally don't like cabbage, but others are fine to me 。haha sorry ? I am a little bit picky ha. The main course is lunch box, it come with teriyaki salmon, I like this one taste very tender and great. Then it comes with white rice, I have to say the korean white rice tastes better than regular that I cooked at home。I don't know why?Did anyone feel the same way ? Also come with Japchae, friend dumpling, and tempura veggies, miso soup and ginger salad。The nutrition is very balanced you know, make me feel healthy and satisfyied。w(゚゚)w, Last one is Seafood Bimbimbap, I love it , I will come back next time and enjoy the lunch box again 。(・・)ノ

I dined at Chung Dam several times this year. The food is pretty pricy, but it is always consistent. I tried several soup and meat entrees, and the staff always made them slightly more spicy as I had requested.

This place has changed over the years but at the end of the day, still a solid old school Korean BBQ spot that does the classics right. Galbijjim (both sweet pumpkin and regular) very tasty. Seollongtang is good (not the best but not the worst) and the doenjang jjigae has just enough funk. Not the fanciest of settings but they have so many private rooms that my immigrant Korean parents will often go there just for this.

I have been here twice. Tried bibim nang meon and mul nang meont. Overall pretty solid but Inconsistent in taste. bibim nangmeon was very good the first time, and so so the next. Bancham no good by any stretchofimagination. Kimchi was disappointingly bad.

Boiled egg, tofu soup, kimchi salad, sweet bean, flavored yam.

This was the first time me and my family went here. The service was amazing and the food tasted incredible! The staff were extremely nice! 100% Recommended!

My family's been coming to this place for a long time, and for a trustworthy reason. Their Korean beef kalbi (rib) is seriously the best in Georgia. I've been to good Korean bbq places in LA and Manhattan, but this place serves the best Korean beef kalbi. Cleanliness of the place and quality of the foods are top notch, and their staffs are ever so friendly, even during their busy hours. Our server (one in picture) was so wonderful, grilling the meat for us with superb skill, bringing the extra side dishes happily whenever we asked. As much as the food was phenomenal, the server was phenomenal, and she served my family a wonderful Friday dinner we deserved. Thank you so much. There are so many terrible Korean bbq places where they rip you off with cheap quality meats, terrible service, and unsanitary environment with overexpensive price. But not here. If you love and want an authentic Korean bbq experience, trust me and come here :)

I came here on a Tuesday night at 7:30pm and it was pretty empty. My boyfriend and I sat at a grill table. Our waitress was super nice. We ordered the Galbi and Dolsot Bibimbap. For the Galbi, since we only ordered one barbecue item, they cooked it in the kitchen and brought it out to us. So if you would want the full experience then you have to order two meats. They didn't serve it with the steamed egg or soybean paste stew either for the same reason. The Galbi was sooooo flavorful and cooked to perfection!! Very meaty and only the bones had a lot of fat on it. The Dolsot bibimbap was also very good! The rice on the bottom got very crispy which was my favorite part. For the price I think it was very worth it. At the end they brought out a cinnamon tea with our check. It was kinda sweet and the cinnamon flavor was strong (which I'm not a fan of) but I can see how other people would like it. The Galbi was quite expensive for how much it was but it was probably the best marinated Galbi I've had so I'm not too angry. Overall I enjoyed my dining experience and would come back!

Great place, super clean but empty when I went in later at night. Kind of expensive but for good quality food. I love their kbbq but the meat portion was small for the amount we paid. The food was really good though!

This is my family's go-to place for korean bbq. The marinated kalbee is the best! We do get the non-marinated for our diabetic dad. The side dishes are also good.

Banchan-always changing, and most of them fresh and tasty. Fried dumplings are good but pricey ($6.99 for six)

The service was quick and friendly, the restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated with warm wooden accents, and the food was delicious. We ordered eight items off the menu, and while the Scallop with Garlic Sauce ($15.98) was a bit too garlicky for my taste, we enjoyed every dish we tried. The Chicken Skin ($6.99) was perfectly crispy, the Special Lamb and Fatty Beef ($8.99 each) were juicy, the Roasted Eggplant ($5.99) had a rich smokiness, and both the Roasted Enoki Mushrooms and Grilled King Oyster Mushrooms ($5.99 each) were fresh and packed with flavor. The Pork Belly with Enoki Mushrooms ($6.98) were especially delicious! They were flavorful without being overly porky. We'll definitely be back!

My favorite dish is probably the eggplant on rice. I'm also a fan of the fried salted egg corn. The egg drop soup is kind of standard fare and so is the fried pork. Enoki mushrooms were a hit but I felt like it was a small portion. My wife was also disappointed in the stir fried udon noddles. My least favorite dish is the shrimp. The shrimp looks pretty but it's just takes too much effort to eat it. The real reason to come here are for the skewers though. The lamb and fatty beef are good. They are not the best skewers but still great. Would I come here again? Yes but only with friends. It's quite a drive but it's in a nice shopping center. My friend says Friendship BBQ is nearby and better though.

Dreamland faces the back towards Abbots Bridge Road, there's a large parking lot out front but good luck finding parking there, especially on busy weekends. I recommend going around the corner and parking in front of Coleman Middle School across the street (when school is out of session like on weekends). Otherwise I'd time my visits to off-hours and during the week day. Where to begin with this one? I was a frequent visitor to the Dreamland BBQ that occupied a free-standing building on Peachtree Parkway, just south east of the Forum. From what I remember that building had a fire and I believe that this location is where the restaurant ended up. To start, this is a massive space with high ceilings, a large bar and plenty of seating - very different from the cozy confines of the original location. We attended the exceptional Le Bon fest held by Goodword Brewing nearby and being ready for something more substantial than a few oysters, we ended up at Dreamland. It took a while to be seated as there wasn't anyone out front - there was one booth already seated in an otherwise empty restaurant, so it could be our timing wasn't the best. We ended up being seated at the bar and our server was delightful, super nice and personable. When I went to the restroom to wash my hands, as soon as I touched the single sink valve, water geysered into the air about 4 feet. The other sink wasn't working at all. Anyway I managed, and also reported what was happening as there really wasn't a way to turn it off. My friend Ken ordered the roasted chicken with a double side of green beans. I ordered the half-slab and deferred ordering any sides as from experience, 6 bones tend to be a lot of meat. What I received was something of a joke - the bones were tiny and hardly had any meat on them filling about half the basket. Now I understand that sometimes getting the smaller side of a rack, you end up with less food, but this was somewhat ridiculous. It's been a long time since I've left a BBQ place hungry, but there it is. If the service had been bad I probably would have left a 1 star review, but I'll give the place the benefit of the doubt. Very disappointing.

This young lady greeted guests as they arrived in the door with the most pleasant disposition that I have ever seen, and I will tell you why she was so fantastic in a minute. We were promptly seated as she politely asked us to please be patient with her as she was THE only one working that evening. This young woman was the greeter, the server, the bartender, the food runner, and the bus boy. She did it all with a gracious attitude that I have ever seen one person muster. Although it was a Wednesday night, there were a few people inside and it could have been a task that quickly became overwhelming, but it did not for her. Kuddos to this young lady! The fries were not greasy. They were crispy, soft, and plentiful. I would recommend giving Dreamland a try not only for the food but also to look at the decor and take it all in.

This time, I brought my friend who has never had Korean bbq before for her to try. We went right when it opened so it was quiet. I told the server it was her first time and he was eager to explain everything to her. I don't think she was prepared at all what was about to grace our table He brought out a cart full of side dishes and start to explain what each one is along with the flavor profile. When he got to the scallion salad, she was just not loving it, but he told her to at least try and see what she thinks (don't knock it til you try it!) Then he said they're still getting the charcoal ready so it'll be a few more minutes and my friend's eyes just (like what?) So we start with trying a bite of all the sides. She enjoyed everything except the sliced onion salad. Surprisingly, she loved everything else, including the scallion salad! So... the charcoal comes out, and she's just Then the server brings the grill with the cheesy corn, spicy bean sprout, and he poured in the eggs. Followed by the meats! Since she didn't really know what she likes, I made a few suggestions and the server suggests letting him bring us the most popular items first and we can work our way through the menu. What a great idea!! Started with brisket and ribeye and wow ... meats were fresh, paired with the sides, and the dipping sauces, it's just chef's kiss!! We then had bulgogi and pork belly and those were just bursting with flavor! The cheesy corn was good but burned too fast on the grill, the spicy bean sprouts are amazing, and the steam egg is my favorite . The only downside is that if you don't eat those sides that are cooking on the grill right away they'll turn dry and burned and it won't be as good. The cheesy corn also caused some splattering to our hands when we were cooking the meats. The server apologized for the oil splattering since he heard the squeal immediately soak up the oil from the cheesy corn so the splattering would stop. Overall, my friend gave it 10/10!!!
