Soban in Duluth, GA If you're looking for real Korean home-style food m, this spot is it. We ordered: Braised Whole Cutlassfish Seafood (recommend ) Whole cutlassfish + entire octopus + mixed seafood & veggies in a rich, spicy broth. The fish was SO soft, flavorful, and perfect with rice. Seafood Pancake (recommend ) Crispy, thick, and LOADED with shrimp, squid, and big scallions. Slightly pricey but worth it for the portion. Ssambap Set Comes with soybean paste stew, savory dipping sauce, fresh veggies, and your choice of meat. Wrap everything together , super fresh, balanced, and flavorful. Hot Stone Bibimbap Rice, mushrooms, carrots, bean sprouts, and a sunny-side-up egg. let it sit longer for that crispy guoba bottom I even added a little cutlassfish broth... so good. Clean environment, spacious, and very modern.

Still one of my new favorite Korean restaurants, and a great choice if you're trying to impress ... love getting 10 different banchan incl. the marinated crab. Soban is getting very popular now - you can tell the servers are working very hard but feels like they need to hire more help. BRAISED SILVER COD - $49.99 Ohhhh so good - pricey yes but very good and you get a ton of food. This is definitely for sharing. The fish, squash, tofu, radish - all caramelized and soaking in flavor. If you have just 2 people in your party which we did - you will have leftovers to enjoy later. KIMCHI PANCAKE - $15.99 Good but not crispy which I think it key for a good Korean pancake. I definitely want to try that cuttlefish platter and galbijjim next time - I saw many tables order the galbijjim.

TL;DR -- Soban Korean Restaurant is a promising newcomer with food that genuinely stands out -- the cold noodle alone might be the best you've ever had. Service has some growing pains, but the friendliness and food quality make it easy to forgive. Everything here feels fresh -- the space, the decor, the menu. Speaking of the menu, clear your schedule before you sit down because it's going to take a few minutes to get through. The decoration has a warm, homey feel that makes the space comfortable despite being brand new. Now, the service. It took three different servers to get water, and our second dish didn't arrive until we were almost done with the first. Timing and coordination still need work. That said, everyone was genuinely friendly throughout, and it's hard to be too hard on a place that's still finding its rhythm fresh out of the gate. Give them time. The food, though -- that's where Soban earns its keep. The cold noodle is exceptional. Most cold noodles at other spots are bland and forgettable, but this one actually has flavor -- a subtle radish note running through a broth that's light but surprisingly complex. If you're looking for a cold dish to beat the summer heat, this is a must-order, full stop. The beef back rib with bean sprout delivered too. The meat falls clean off the bone, and the bean sprouts held their texture without going soggy, which is harder to get right than it sounds. The food here is the real deal. Come for that cold noodle. A pleasant surprise while we were shopping close to Mega Mart for a Sunday lunch before heading back to Midtown. Still a soft opening, but service was great. Only three servers then, but they were fast and efficient and always prompt when we needed service. Their side dishes are probably one of the best in the Duluth area and quite authentic which we liked. Great quality, service, and ambiance.

They give you so much side dishes! The cuttlefish tastes as good as it looks. We got the cuttlefish and also the galbijjim that had the bones sticking out. They cut up the meat off for you or you can eat it with disposable gloves.

Soban ssambap w/ bulgogi. With banchan and soy bean soup.

Wonderful spread. So many choices of bancha and phenomenal service. I will return soon!

Very clean, spacious, and good food. Banchan was good too. Recommend if you are visiting Duluth

Best Korean food in Atlanta! I don't say this lightly either. They provide a wide assortment of banchan and have menu items you can't find anywhere else in Atlanta. They area bit pricey but the quality and portion sizes more than makes up for it

I love ordering the oyster soondubu, and there always plenty of oysters in the soup! They also offered us the cutest little aprons (re-useable, I do hope they launder them...) to avoid unfortunate tofu soup splatters, which I have been victim to many many times in the past. I love the private booths that each table is divided by, giving it a more intimate vibe. Definitely recommend So Gong Dong when choosing a tofu soup in Duluth! Perfect if you're looking to celebrate more intimately with your group. We got their Go chu jap chae, Cream shrimp, Jjambbong, Tangsuyuk, and Seafood jaengban. It was my first time having Go chu jap chae but I really enjoyed all the bell peppers and onions with thin cuts of beef. The fluffy rolls were just a plus. Cream shrimp were also fluffy but my favorite dishes were definitely the Jjambbong and Seafood jaengban. It was difficult to say which one I liked better because they were both delicious in their own ways! The Tangsuyuk was also crispy with the sweet and sour dipping sauce on the side. Overall, my friends and I had a great time. The food was fantastic, the portions were hefty, and the prices were justified. Staff were attentive and efficient so I can't wait to come again. The jajangmyun sauce comes in varying degrees of spiciness, but even the medium isn't too bad; has a slight kick but doesn't take away from the overall taste. The waitresses there have always been very attentive and professional, never regret leaving a big tip because they definitely worked for it. Overall, ambiance is pretty noisy as there are a lot of seats and since it's a very family orientated restaurant, it's usually been packed with families enjoying a meal. The restaurant also shares a parking lot with a Tesla super charger, so it was perfect for me to plug my car in while I eat.

My partner and I came in around roughly 9:50-10pm. When we arrived we're were initially informed that we had to order soon because they were closing in 30 minutes and were understandings of that. Shortly after we were seated, (literally 1-2 minutes) about 3 employees came to our table letting us know we needed to order within the next few minutes. It was like 10:05. I tried asking one of the employee what the meat options were and was just interrupted by him being persistent in us ordering and did not really answer our questions, mainly because I noticed some of the meat options were pork and I do not consume pork for personal reasons. My partner and I felt overwhelmed and just ordered something we thought would not include pork. After submitting our order another employee came by with the check already without us asking insisting for us to pay before our food even came out. Mind you the restaurant closed within 20 minutes at this point. When our food did come out, it did contain PORK!!! We just left shortly afterwards and left the food on the table.
