I initially contacted another moving company for an interstate move from San Diego to Las Vegas. The bid came in very high, and I was told by that company that there were "additional fees" for interstate moves, making the price much higher than expected. What's most disappointing is not just the damage, but how the company handled it afterward. I filed a claim in good faith, expecting a reasonable resolution. Instead, my claim was denied, and I was offered $25 for a $260 table. That is not only inadequate, it's honestly insulting. What makes this even more frustrating is that I went out of my way to take care of the movers. I bought them coffee from Starbucks, prepared care packages with snacks and energy drinks, and still tipped each of them individually, even after discovering the damage. I approached the situation with understanding, knowing accidents can happen. But the way this company handled the aftermath shows a complete lack of accountability and customer care. When you're spending around $1,000 on a move, you expect a basic level of professionalism and protection for your belongings.
