My boyfriend and I absolutely love Chuponcito Mexican Restaurant! We eat here at least three or four times a week, and it has become our favorite neighborhood spot. The food is consistently fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The elote chopped salad is amazing--it's one of my favorite dishes anywhere--and the enchiladas are always flavorful and made to perfection. Every meal reminds us of the comforting flavors of home. Chuponcito truly feels like a little piece of Mexico right in the middle of Orange County. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are genuinely friendly, and they always make us feel welcome. My wife and I, visiting from the Bay Area and in search of a quality breakfast spot, were fortunate enough to stumble upon Chupon Mexican Cocina, conveniently located just down the street from my son's house. We shared the "El Chupon" breakfast burrito and enjoyed some coffee, both of which were delightful. This place is not authentic Mexican. I ordered their chilaquiles and instead got "sweetaqulies". This dish tasted like they only used sugar. I asked the cashier is they had any spicy salsa and was offered TAPATÍO. I asked if they had anything else and they gave me their house salsa which was supposedly "spicy". My fiancé ordered an omelet of some kind and it had literally no flavor. When I asked him about it he said it tasted like air. Aside from the fruit slices on top of the pancakes, they also fill each layer with fruit before placing the next pancake on top. I may just use excessive amounts of syrup so I'll need to ask for extra next time but they give a generous portion of the purple white blueberry cream. For ~$27, we got full off our burrito halves and still have more than half the pancake order left for later. Seriously such a great find and can't wait to try out more items from Sunny Up!
