Flautas w beans and cheese
Jessie D.

Sabrosada does not disappoint!! Their drive through is super convenient, and their service accommodating. Inside is quiet and clean. I have a super picky grandmother and they were happy to make substitutions and additions. The food is rich and well seasoned. The portions are very large for the price. I especially like their flautas and super burritos.

Havent reviewed in forever. I have to say this place is has the best carne asada fries of all time. I have lived in different parts of socal tried different places but this place is the place. Love the fact that the workers get to the point, none of the corporate filler. I came in workers were hard at work. Vibes in there were good felt like i was in LA in the 90s. Recommend 100/100.

Carnitas torta con todo

Got a carnitas torta con todo. I thought it was going to come with tomatoes and onions but it was just guacamole, shredded lettuce and the carnitas. The bread was toasted. It was super good but it would've been better with some vegetables.

Carne Asada Nachos (full size)

It's our first time ordering from here and will say this may be our go-to late night Mexican food place now! Open 24/7! Can't beat that. We ordered the Carne Asada Nachos and it did not disappoint. Very impressed that the chips were still crunchy by the time we got home. The food was warm in the right places. The tomatoes were fresh. The Carne Asada was cooked with right an out of tenderness. I asked for the spiciest salsa they got and their red sauce was it. But wasn't spicy at all. However, it did have a good flavor to it.

Always delicious, fresh ingredients and friendly service. Lots of seating, very casual fast food type seats.

Carne asada fries are delicious but enough to feed two people. Sometimes I get the carne asada burrito too. Ask for red and green sauce.

Avoid this place at all cost, the tortilla I could see though it because it was so greasy.

Are the rice and beans in the burritos vegetarian or are they made with lard and or chicken stock? I just phoned and confirmed the beans are made with pork lard, but they claim the rice is vegetarian?

They are made with lard and chicken stock

Hey why on earth did this sabrosada in lake forest close?!? This place's drive thru was always popping, what happened?

I have been a happy customer also, just spoke w/Reuben who worked there and he told me new store will be at the center near home depot, at El Toro & Moulton about Oct. 1. The Rockfield center is being renovated (which is good - it needs it).

Thankfully, I decided to stay for lunch because it ended up being a fantastic decision. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas with green sauce, served with rice and beans. Before the entrée arrived, they brought out complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa had a fresh, homemade flavor with just the right amount of kick--definitely a great start to the meal. As someone of Mexican descent, I'm pretty particular about Mexican food. It's easy to tell when dishes are made with care versus just thrown together, and Chuponcito definitely falls into the first category. The shrimp in the enchiladas were perfectly cooked--tender, juicy, and not rubbery--and the green sauce was rich, flavorful, and balanced without overpowering the dish. The rice was solid, but the refried beans were the real standout for me. They were creamy, well-seasoned, and tasted homemade, which is something I always appreciate. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is small, charming, and very clean, including the restrooms, which says a lot about how they care for the overall dining experience. While I still can't wait to come back for those chilaquiles, I'm honestly happy I missed breakfast this time because I probably wouldn't have discovered how good the lunch menu is. Chuponcito definitely earned another visit from me.

They have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. The service was great, very friendly and attentive. But the food was definitely the highlight! Ceviche with shrimp for appetizer. $24 Carne asada plate-- husband enjoyed it. $25 I had the Avilas soup with two crispy tacos beef/chicken $21 --The tacos were super crunchy and delicious. Priced pretty high for mediocre environment. Although, the portions were generous.

We love El Ranchito, but the one at this La Paz location did not measure up…read more One of our favorite things to order at El Ranchito is the Table Side Guacamole which is the BEST guacamole one can get anywhere. But this location does NOT have this on their menu which actually stunned all four of us sitting at the table. This is one of the main reasons we frequent the Avila's chain and needless to say, this was very disappointing. Because they did not have the table side guac, we had to settle for the premade stuff which was bland and tasted nowhere near as flavorful as the Table Side Guacamole we have had at every other Avila's El Ranchito we have frequented throughout Orange County. This location did have a low carb fajitas option which was interesting. It did NOT come on a sizzling skillet like the regular dish, and the beans were whole (not refried). Instead of rice, they give you salad. I did not love the dressing for the salad btw. I am glad they have this low carb option, but it is significantly different from the normal Sizzling Fajitas version which they do offer here. Service was decent. And we loved their large outdoor seating area covered by shade trees.
