An interesting feature is the interior waiting/overflow area - when you enter, you'll immediately come across a room independent from the main dining room with a full bar and a few seats. We really appreciated this feature as we were able to peruse the drink menu, chat, and feel taken care of before our table was ready. In the event the restaurant is slammed, you can also have dinner in this area. Moving to the main dining room, we were pleased to see a bright, elegant atmosphere with varying table sizes to suit a variety of party sizes. A white tablecloth with high-end dinnerware was complemented by the ornate ceiling to elevate the visual appeal of the space, making it feel very upscale. The general manager introduced himself and informed us of the specials, and also made sure we knew that he could be of help if there was any beverage we didn't see on the menu. The bottles he was recommending were around the $100 mark - certainly out of our budget, but I'm sure there are many folks who will appreciate the variety of offerings. The dinner menu offered a wide gamut of options, from pastas, to steaks and seafood. I ordered the chicken piccata, and I'm happy to say it was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Other members of our group raved about the arancini, the pork chops, and filets. Our whole party of 8 was very pleased with the food, speed, and atmosphere. I hope to be back to this wonderful restaurant soon!

We made a reservation for three on 7/8/26 at 6:30 p.m. We arrived around 6:20 p.m. and waited by the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign, but no one acknowledged us. After standing there for about five minutes, someone finally came over, checked us in, and told us they were just getting our table ready. Unfortunately, that took another 30 minutes. We weren't seated until around 7:00 p.m. We're used to waiting and completely understand that the busy summer season can be overwhelming for small businesses. That said, having a reservation made the wait a bit more frustrating since we expected our table to be ready closer to our reservation time. To make matters worse, a party of about 15 that had been drinking at the bar was seated in the same dining room shortly after we were. They filled nearly the entire space, their kids were running around, and the only air conditioning unit in the restaurant was turned off by them when they sat down. The room quickly became incredibly hot, loud, and uncomfortable. It honestly got to the point where I felt like I might pass out. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, and I have nothing but positive things to say about her service. The food was a mixed experience. The standout items were the complimentary bread with the olive spread, which was delicious, and the mussels appetizer. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion, and the broth was so flavorful it was almost drinkable. It really just needed a few slices of crostini or grilled bread to soak up every last bit. The entrées, however, were just average. I know better than to order carbonara in the Northwoods, but I decided to give it a chance anyway, hoping I'd finally be proven wrong. Unfortunately, I wasn't. This wasn't really a carbonara. It was much closer to an Alfredo sauce, lacked the rich flavor you'd expect, and included ingredients like spinach that aren't part of a traditional carbonara. The fish served on top, however, was cooked well and nicely seasoned. Overall, Anthony's was a one-and-done experience for us. While it may be a solid option for the area, the combination of the delayed seating, uncomfortable dining environment, and underwhelming entrées left us with little desire to return.

A tiny bit disappointed the bun wasn't poppyseed, but it was good enough as is. We shared sides of sweet potato fries (generous portion) and onion rings. Both were tasty & hot. Topped it off with some drinks & it was a perfect lunch. Our server, Nancy, was friendly & attentive. The food is worth waiting for and the wait time is just what we need to have a real conversation with the company we are with. First time lunch stop was on a Friday fish day and walleye bites were ordered. The report is that they were delicious and were tasted by two in the party. I'm gf and don't care for fish so did not taste. The other party member had wings and said they were excellent along with his side of onion rings. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich on a gluten free bun. The bun held up well and the sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries was delicious. Second time here my husband had the special of Chicago style hot dogs, I had the steak sandwich on gf bun and the other in our party had the hot beef sandwich. We all enjoyed our meals and look forward to coming back. The food is just downright good for a fair price. Not sure why only one waitress but guessing they only need one for the kitchen to keep pace. There is seating outside but I think it is just used when they have entertainment. Everyone seems to be enjoying their bar seats and restaurant meals.
