I have loved churches chicken and haven't had it for years. So during my short lunch I quickly ran to get some. Only to have them give me the smallest three chicken strips that were not completely cooked. How to go back in because they forget my sauce, and gave me no plasticware for my macaroni. To then find out that I had a bug in my drink the whole time. The people were nice and very sweet at the order window. But the quality and price for product was abominable. So the food at this churches is not bad I mean you get what you pay for. However I did notice that you seem to get better quality food when you get down instead of going to the drive thru. Now the service on the dinning area is always good the staff are friendly and attentive but threw the drive thru they always seemed stressed and a little rude but then again it's a drive thru. The inside of the store is always clean and surprisingly the bathrooms are very well kept up and clean I have never seen a problem. If I could give zero stars I would for the Los Lunas locations food. I have not been to this one in about a year and at that time it was good. The green beans and mac and cheese were super. They don't have the green beans anymore and the mac and cheese was awful. My husband had the chicken fried steak. It was freezer burnt and over-fried. He just threw it in the trash. The okra was over-fried and the chicken strips were very small and tasted terrible. The iced tea tasted old or the container had not been cleaned. We will not be going back to this one. The only good thing about this experiance was that the service was good and the people were very nice. read more

OK I'm just going to say the store is having the SAME problems as other yelpers have indicated. This is my 4th visit when they are saying they DON'T have dark meat or white meat available for at least 12 more minutes. Last time they told us that, my husband waited for 50 minutes! Once again the inside and drive-through lines are ridiculously long. Tonight everyone is getting white meat because there is no dark. They seem to have enough workers AND the management has changed...MERLINDA kindly took care of us tonight because of our previous complaints. I would REALLY like to give more stars because the food is so good WHEN they get it right. But, until they can cover one suppper visit with white AND dark meat AND get the order completely right, 3 is all I can do. read more

I was hesitant to go because of all of the bad reviews here, but the one in Albuquerque was so good we just had to try this one. And WOW was it good! I grew up on Kentucky Fried Chicken and Church's kicks butt over them! As far as the time goes, I was third in line inside, took maybe 7 or 8 minutes to have my order taken and the kid was very nice and helpful. I received a $10 coupon on my iPhone but it didn't have a promo code, so he selected one on the register which actually gave me more biscuits! It only took 10 minutes to get my food. Always get my order wrong, and there is one employee that has been there forever. Shocked!! that she still has a job with her bad attitude!! She will argue with you about what you ordered, just because she didn't hear your order correctly. If someone else is at the window, she will stand over getting food ready, With her bad attitude speaking out loud bad mouthing you from afar. You can't hear her, but staff inside can and if you can read lips she is still arguing with the customer about there order. Treats customers like trash all because she doesn't know how to listen to the customers order. Probably why my order is wrong every single time I go. Especially when my order is the exact same combo meal x's 3 all same side, different drinks, 1 with spicy chicken and the other 2 original chicken. Okay, chicken is well....chicken. Fried, braised BBQ'd or whatever, chicken unless it's cremated or underdone, is pretty friggin good. Sides can be the best things ever! That is unless they are cheese poppers with nothing inside because they're cremated...or corn that is squished and mushy, well then they're not so good. That unfortunately has been my experience both times with Church's. There certainly room for improvement at this store. read more

I went here to get lunch for my child and two others at my place of employment. I arrived at 11:35, waited in line while each customer was served one by one (other employees not working the counter but at the drive-thru or hanging out in the back). I got to place my order at 11:49. The employee at the counter called for more strips to be dropped at this same time, the cook acknowledged. I finally received the order at 12:09 when the strips finally came up and asked for the manager. I inquired why is the slow service acceptable and she did not have an answer but offered an apple pie which I declined. Thinking that my child's lunch was at 12:01, I would have more than enough time to get it and bring it to him, I was in great error. If you enjoy standing at a counter at a 'fast food restaurant' for 34 minutes to get your food, you would be better off going to Chili's or Applebees and sit down. At least your food would arrive about 15 minutes sooner, and likely be better, than this Church's location. We will not be returning. read more

I was so excited when Church's opened up in Los Lunas. I have been here a total of 5 times and each time is super disappointing. My food is constantly cold or soggy, like it's just been sitting waiting for someone to order it. I have literally drove all the way back here just to ask for something more fresh. yesterday was my third time here. i feel compelled to review for many reasons. This particular visit started with a trip to the restroom to wash my hands - the sewage smell was very overpowering, but we decided to eat anyway, i did ask my male if they noticed the smell in the restroom as well. they indicated yes they had. 1st visit - we stopped by at 11am, the doors were locked, we decided maybe we were a little early, so we waited about 15 minutes, we tried the door again, still locked, there were people inside, we knocked and no one would come to the door, we decided to try the drive thru, no response, so now at 11:40, we gave up and went elsewhere. 2nd visit - drive thru service, they were "open", received my food - biscuits were awesome, chicken was bland, fried okra tasted like it had been sitting under a warmer. 3rd visit - ordered a 3 piece meal with 2 sides and 2 drinks to share, one side was okra, again tasted like it had been under a warmer, the worse part about the meal was the chicken which was bland tasteless and dry, but also had the congealed skin/fat layer underneath the crispy breading, the chicken was inedible, the mac & cheese was okay, the biscuits were okay. i personally will never eat here again. i may try church's chicken at a different location, but not here. before you decide to eat here check the restrooms, if the smell is still there you know they have not taken any steps to improve the place, so eat at your own risk. read more

I work very close to the location in Los Lunas NM. I went through the drive-thru. I was told I had to wait 15 minutes for all white meat. I paid and was asked to pull into the parking lot. I waited another 15 minutes. I called and they said it would be another few minutes. I've now waited 30 minutes. When I got the food, it was not all white meat. I looked at my receipt and I certainly paid the extra for all white. I called again and they would not answer. I then used my husbands phone (different #) and what do you know? They answered. I asked for a manager. As I'm explaining that I waited 30 minutes and still the order was wrong, she gave a big sigh. I asked her if I was bothering her and she said "no. What is wrong with your order? She then proceeded to tell me I could go back and get in line at the drive thru or I could save the order and take it back later for an exchange!! First time about a month after it opened my husband waited 30 minutes after he placed the order to find out that it would be another 20 minutes before there would be white meat. He asked for his money back and left. 2 or 3 weeks later we went there placed the order and found out that they were out of biscuits. He tried again today placed his order paid then 10 minutes later found out that it would be 20 minutes before white meat chicken would be ready. He got his money back. So i have a 30 minute lunch. I went to the churches chicken near my work to get one of the shrimp platters with my mom. The lady is taking the order of the person in front of me so I think Ok it won't be too long. She tells me just a minute. I then proceed to stand there ignired for 20 minutes while she does fills one or two orders and tons of drive thru people go by. She finally gets back to me just to say oh sorry we are out of that. When I mention I've waited 20 minutes just to be told they are out. She snaps at me saying 'Well excuse me I had other offers i had to fill' . that is not my fault. If she'd have taken my order right behind the other we would have figured it out sooner or if she had nt been so busy Also going and taking to others. Im sorry she could have at least acknowledged me and taken my order. As it was I didn'thave time to even go anywhere else at that point.
