It was practically a meal in itself. Back to the churros...larger than I was expecting but not like Sams food court size. The filling was not overly sweet but just right. This snack trailer is serving up the perfect elotes cup with grated white cheese nearly overflowing the top, along with the perfect amount of spice. It could be a little bigger cup for $5, but it's so fresh and tasty. Not cheap, soupy and undrained like others make it. Churros are also pretty good for $3 -- not filling in every bite but still solid. Papas Locas or spiral potatoes look just like they make them at the fair, but with Mexican condiments to squirt all over them. I will be sure to try that next. Food is served fast, as these folks are all business and less about communication or friendly distraction... ..But the cars just line up for their fresh, delicious, quality snacks. read more

Taco trucks are great but a churro truck wins, hands down. Every. Time. Because churros. A few hours after a very late lunch, we were sitting at home, snacky but not really hungry. Then I remembered hearing about Churros Meoqui and we instantly hopped in the car. We were the only customers at first but after we received our order, several groups came out for churro goodness. We talked to the owner who said the caramel is her favorite and strawberry is her husband's favorite so we ordered both, plus white corn eloté, because snacky. You have your choice of fillings and I'm happy to report my caramel filling was all the way through this delicious, crunchy exterior with a fluffy soft interior and gooey filling. So. Good. The eloté has a kick of spice but then the crema comes in to save the day. Bonus: we enjoyed our churros one the curb and my JG left his phone sitting on said curb. He didn't realize until we were home so I called and they had the phone! The food was delish and super friendly owners. read more

This churro stand has the best churros ever. The churro stand is located in a church's parking lot area, which could be hard to encounter if it is your first time going. It's directly across the street from U.S. Grant high school, off of south Penn. Churros cost $2.50 each and if you wanted ice cream with it, it's $5. They also sell these potatoes on a stick and it is to die for!! *Heart eyes everywhere* The churro's flavors consist of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and I do believe they occasional have cheesecake or strawberry flavor churros. While Spanish-style churros are delectable, I LOVE Mexican-style churros, so when I read about this place, I was crazy-excited - And while not disappointed, per se, definitely not wowed. We ordered a cream churro and a strawberry churro. The churros themselves are HUGE - The cream filling was good; the strawberry filling was not. Giving them 3 stars, b/c they are "A-Okay", but not (tasty isn't the right word, b/c they ARE tasty...) impactful(?) enough to get me to drive all the way to south side again. read more
