I was visiting from Seattle and some friends took me to Taco Nation. We ordered the Three Amigos (salsa, queso, guac) served with a side of chips. We asked for a refill and of chips and they gave us more free of charge! We couldn't let any of that queso go to waste! For tacos, I went with the steak chimichurri and carnitas. Hands down one of my favorite taco places here in OKC. I love the location of it since it's right in the middle of the Wheeler District surrounding by other businesses and houses. It's definitely more kid friendly space since there's a park like right outside the eating area but it can be a bit overwhelming at certain times of the evening. I prefer going about an hour before close on weekdays because it's much more quiet and there's less people. Tacos are fire but honestly the chips and guacamole are the best part. read more

Sad to be writing this because I've had taco nation in the past and haven't had any issues but I'm not sure I can eat here ever again. I came in for lunch and had the okie taco and the barbacoa taco when I was eating one of the tacos the meat was so hard to chew I had to spit it out, I didn't think much of it but did find it strange because both meats on the taco were a shredded meat anyways fast forward 45 mins or so my stomach starts hurting & i start to think maybe I ate too much. After a few hours it's slowly getting worse and turned into fever and chills and all that to say I have food poisoning. Taco nation was the only thing I had to eat that day anyways Ive been up all night unwell debating going to the hospital from dehydration. We popped in for an early dinner and loved everything! The atmosphere is super chill and relaxed. The employees were friendly and helpful. And the food...the FOOD! The salsa and guac are super fresh, and the chips are addictive. We also tried each of their taco sauces (with chips for dipping), and each was unique and flavorful. Plenty of street parking! When you look at the menu, you might think "wow, $5-6 a taco is kind of expensive", but they're massive. I barely could finish 3. One taco is like equivalent to 2 street tacos. I can't remember the names of each taco, however, they were all delicious!! Their chips and quest were also yummy; you can tell they're made fresh! They have bottles of various salsas at the counter that are self serve with small saucers/ramekins. Having a self serve salsa bar in the future would be a cool concept. We celebrated Mother's Day there on Saturday. It was the first time visiting this place. There were 14 of us. It was a surprise that our food arrived at our table so quickly. When the waiter saw flys he immediately brought out the little windmills to blow them away from our table. Several times the waiter came to out to check on us. He even helped us take pictures. It has a big patio that is kid friendly! During the week they have a special that consists of two tacos and some chips and salsa for $12? I think. You order up front and they give you a number so they can bring you your food. They have a self serve water and salsa area! I recommend to try them all! Wonderful experience at Taco Nation on a Friday evening around 4:30 pm with 3 friends. Came here after work for happy hour tacos and margaritas and thoroughly enjoyed it. This space is excellent with a bright interior and has coffee-shop vibes. I like that this is located in the Wheeler District so the parking is easy. I actually come here weekly to my favorite coffee shop next door - Clarity Coffee, but this is the first time I've experienced Taco Nation. Service was amazing - all staff members are very friendly. In the back are separate bathroom stalls with a locker area. There is also a coats collection drive by the bathrooms - so if you or anyone you know has old coats in good condition that they would like to donate, Taco Nation is collecting them! Drinks: *Hibiscus Margarita* tasty and not watered down. I will probably order this again next time I come. Food: *Chips & Dips* Our crew shared guacamole, queso, salsa, and chips. The chips are soooo delicious...probably the crunchiest/freshest/tastiest chips I've ever had. Not too salty, and just the right size with rounded edges, so I know my son will love these too! Wow. Hands down my new favorite taco spot in OKC. So many options. Gluten free options galore, vegetarian options and many other great choices. Something for everyone. The chips were so so so good. Popped in on a Friday evening at 6pm. Easy parking. So that was a win. And free. Double points for that. I look and there is literally people lined up down the walk for this place and I almost leave because I haven't been here and who knows what this means for seating and such. The menu was big but after telling the waitress we hadn't been there she had some great and helpful suggestions. What i LOVED was the fact she took her time and didn't make us feel pushed through without any care as to what we needed as a customer. She helped us and had a great attitude. Taco nation was fabulous! I had the grilled chicken taco and a shrimp taco, and they were fabulous. We ordered chips and the chips were the salty kind and went fabulously with the guacamole and salsa we ordered for the table. Everyone in our party, including the five-year-old, said their meal was most excellent, as well. Everything is flavored perfectly And their very menu allows every taco lovers favorite from chicken to beef to shrimp. The portions are just right as I ordered two tacos, and it was more than enough especially with the chips and salsa and guacamole, and I will also add their margaritas have a real kick! Not the water down version of margaritas you usually get at a Mexican restaurant. Servers were helpful and polite. They served our table and checked on us as necessary, but didn't hover.
