Always fresh and taste better then some of the other Asian food spots around town. If it's busy you'll wait but it's worth it

Not nearly as good as it used to be, food was bland and cold, it was like Chinese food for senior citizens homes.

I really wish Winston Salem had a great Banh Mi available. There are some good Pho restaurants but…read morethey don't serve Banh Mi usually and when they do it's not quite the authentic version I'm looking for. I had the Banh Mi at What Da Pho in the past and remember it was good so that's what I ordered this time. Additionally we ordered crab wontons and summer rolls. The restaurant is a little hidden but if you park in the parking structure adjacent to the restaurant it's super easy to get inside. First impressions are it's quiet- no music in the dining room, and the decor is sort of an afterthought with scotch tape holding LED lights to the walls and some Asian inspired pictures but not very well thought out. It's Ok, I'm not coming for the decor. The service is a little lacking. They are giving the bare minimum here so don't expect your server to be too friendly. The crab wontons and summer rolls arrived quickly. The crab wontons were super hot and crispy right from the deep fryer. They were filled with a delicious imitation crab and cream cheese mixture and when dipped in the sweet chili sauce they were exactly the thing I was craving. The summer rolls were equally as fresh and delicious. The filling of cold rice noodles, crisp lettuce and shrimp then dipped in the accompanying peanut sauce was just as delicious. We ordered one pork and one beef Banh Mi. The first thing I noticed was how plentiful the meat was in each one. Usually it's a light sandwich but these were very hefty in comparison to others I've had. My meat was very savory and had a very tender texture, almost like pot roast. It was also the juiciest pork I've ever had in a Banh mi. The picked vegetables were also really good but both our sandwiches were missing the jalapeno I've come to expect. My husband really enjoyed his beef one as well but we both noticed how the bread lacked that crusty flaky quality that Vietnamese baguettes normally have. This was more of a sub roll with a chewy texture and softer crust. The flavors were great, I just missed the textures I have come to expect in an authentic Banh mi. Our spot in Greensboro will still be my favorite but when I don't want to trek out that far, I can get my fix at What Da Pho.

The combination does not sound like something typical but boy oh boy to the ingredients blend well. Every dish here is always great. They have a good-sized parking lot, and it wasn't busy at the time, so overall there wasn't much traffic or customer activity. I ordered the Spicy Steak Asiago Bagel Stack with a side of kettle-cooked potato chips. The chips were fresh, crunchy, and a good simple side. The sandwich itself was really good. It had steak, spinach, melted cheese, and a flavorful sauce. Everything tasted fresh, and it had a nice little kick to it without being too spicy. I also liked that they didn't skimp on the meat, it was definitely filling, and the spinach gave it a nice balance. For $8.53, I felt like it was a really good deal, especially with how satisfying it was. The young lady at the drive-thru window was very nice and had great customer service, which made the experience even better. Overall, everything was fresh and flavorful. I would definitely come back and order this again.

I only wished that the soup was hotter. Didn't even have time to go hest it but it was good nonetheless. I had the pick two Mediterranean veggie and French onion and the other person had the Italian sub which they said was good as well. Glad it was close by and very easy to order. Placed a note to have them call me since there is no access to enter our building and they did exactly as asked. Thanks!

Loving some of the international flare here in the Greensboro area, and Mamaput is no exception. I…read moredo have to rate it around 3.5. Not a 3, but couldn't give it a 4 today. Stopped in for a weekday lunch and the person behind the counter was really nice. The place was clean and bright with an open air feel to it. I ordered an Egusi with Chicken and Fufu. Let's go through what all this is, but first why the 3.5 rating...the chicken. This is supposed to be fall off the bone that is fresh and stewed in the sauces. Great flavor for sure, but it was very tough. The plastic knife given had trouble cutting it. You want to think fall off the bone meat, this wasn't it. Not sure if I came in on a bad rotation where they reheated chicken from earlier or the night before, but it did not taste fresh as you'd expect. Ok now to the good stuff... Egusi: this is the main flavor, listed as a soup on the menu but more like a stew instead. It's nutty and hearty with 5 star flavor and spices. This thing rocked! Fufu: this as a mild and soft starch that goes with it all. Almost like a softer consistency gnocchi or some other potato/noodle combo. Not much to it by itself honestly, but man, what a great flavor bomb when you take a piece of it and dunk it in that amazing egusi. Maybe on a day with fresh and tender chicken, the trifecta would be complete: soft and chewy fufu + rich and nutty egusi + fall off the bone tender chicken. Unfortunately today the 3rd piece was missing.

If you're planning to eat there, just know the food isn't fast--it's made fresh to order, so expect a little wait, but it's worth it for hot, quality meals. My go-to is the egusi with chicken and a side of pounded yam. I'll also switch it up with their vegetable soup and pounded yam, which is always a good choice. I've tried the jollof rice as well--I'd give it about a 7/10. It's solid, especially with chicken, and I recommend asking for a little extra red sauce or gravy to take it up a notch. Overall, the food is consistently good when I order delivery. One thing to watch for--they've occasionally forgotten my extra pounded yam, so double-check your order before settling in. I can't speak on the dine-in service or ambiance yet, but based on the food alone, I'd definitely recommend them.
