Haven't been there yet, so this review is based on delivery only. But what a great job they did! I just moved to North Stamford, and live in a bit of a unique situation, a cottage that's a bit hidden. They followed my directions to the letter, and my delivery guy was AWESOME!! Food was well priced and absolutely DELICIOUS... now, here's the deal: I love spicy. I live for spicy. I grow ghost peppers, for God's sake!! But level 5 Hakka Shrimp noodles killed even ME. Level 3 fried cauliflower was PERFECT., as was the onion kulcha. I will absolutely order from them again... but I'll tone it down!! The prices are just right, too. Chutni Biryani & Noodle is an Indian restaurant which also serves Indochinese food as well as ramen, which is a bit of a strange combination. I have not tried their ramen, but they have a pretty good lunch special. Lunch specials come with rice, your choice of entree and naan. They don't just serve you plain naan, you get to choice the type of naan you want and there are many varieties too! I had the saag paneer with garlic naan. The rice is just basmati rice but it came out as bland and a little on the dry side. Could be more fragrant and use a little bit of salt and oil. The saag paneer was decent. They are generous with the paneer but the saag is on the salty side. The garlic naan was beautiful! So much garlic! Excellent naan! read more

We are Indian and love good Indian food but are always looking for the diversity in food that India truly has. So from that perspective, I am grateful it's not the same so called Punjabi fare made by bangla cooks. I wish bangla cooks would make Bangla/ Bengali food - it is so delicious and diverse and tasty! Anyhoo I digress... We always think this place has ambition and they do bring in some different Indian and indo- Chinese food options. The owners/servers and staff are super nice and literally serve with the sweetest smile. We have gone three times and each time they are super attentive and sweet, and go above and beyond. I like the food and it's intense flavors but there is a little bit of another regional mix up here. They have great Andhra and Hyderabadi food sense BUT I wish I could tell them to tone down the cinnamon and cloves and that most times cloves and cinnamon should be ground into dishes in very very very very small quantities. It overwhelms every other taste. If you tone down the cloves and cinnamon in the Garam masala in all your dry and wet curries, they would have the best Indian dishes around town!! The three stars is for promise that they will get it right! Less oil and less ground cinnamon and cloves and they would be 10X better!! read more

I need to go here again. Best biryani I've had in all of CT. Quality, freshly-made, with really high-quality ingredients. Doesn't taste like it's been sitting or reheated like are most places. Very nice staff. One time I left to come back and my order happen ti be ready. The male employee literally ran out after me to give me my food so I didn't have ti come back! So nice! And the girl working the cashier last time was so kind both on the phone and in person, giving me advice on spice-level. Also, I eat a lot of biryani and most places rarely thank me if I tip on a pick-up order (which in the US, you don't actually have to). This girl was so polite about thanking me when I told her to keep the change, which was actually less than I usually tip. Love that. read more

Came here around noon on Saturday for lunch, but it seemed like they just opened up and was still getting ready. It also took a very long time for our food to come out. We ordered: - tonkotsu ramen - chicken tiki kabob - garlic naan - gulab juman (for dessert) The ramen had good flavour but the toppings are kind of lacking from the typical bowl of ramen. It came with 2 VERY thick pieces of pork (that had bones) and a soft boil egg. The chicken tiki was very soft and tender and full of flavour - definitely needed to be eaten with something - which is where the naan comes in (nothing comes with the kabobs so you need to order something to go with it). The garlic naan was good. I have to say that my favourite thing was the gulab juman - which is a milk and cheese ball deep fried and soaked in cardamom simple syrup. I was worried that the simple syrup was going to be super sweet but it was perfect! So perfect that hubby actually had half of it with me (typically he doesn't eat it). Chutni has always been my go-to for Indian Food (especially Dum Biryani) in Stamford. The only complaint I had was that it didn't have a Thali option for lunch. When I went to Chutni, last weekend, to have my usual Mutton Dum Biryani and Chicken 65, I got to know that they started Veg and Non-Veg Thalis for lunch. Without a second thought, I ordered the Non Veg Thali. The spread was amazing; the Thali had two medium pieces of Chicken Kabab, Mutton Biryani, Zeera Rice, Chicken Curry, Roti Pachhadi (South Indian Fresh Chutney), One Vegetarian Fry curry (Raw banana), two Vegetarian curries; one South Indian style Vegetarian one North Indian. There was Butter Naan, Curd and Dessert (Rasmalai), too. Special shout out to the Roti Pachhadi; it was my all time favourite - Gongura Pachhadi. Overall, it was very tasty, the portions were generous and the spread of dishes was very balanced. The spice level was American Medium to accommodate all palates. To conclude, it was a bang for the buck; great food at a very reasonable price. read more

The biryani is perfectly serviceable, satisfies any craving you night have, but won't exactly send you rushing back for more the next day (the flavors are still slightly discrete and raw, with the whole being ever so slightly less than the sum of the parts. I really like this place. The inside is clean, bright and quiet. I went for lunch on a Thursday and it started to fill up towards the end of my meal. I was able to order the chicken korma lunch special, which came with garlic naan and white rice for $10.99. The korma was more yellow and less creamy than I was used to, but the garlic naan was heavenly. For the price and how nice the service was, I will definitely be back! read more

Knowing how much I love food from here.. customer service sucks. Called to place an order and this guy just put the phone on side for 10 minutes.. So I decided to go to the place to place an order. This guy just running around to take order from either tables (total 10 tables, 2 with food already there , 2 he went to take order and 6 empty tables) or continuously taking phone orders. I told him I need to place an order and he repeated saying are you picking up and not caring what I'm saying. Knowing who handles the place in the afternoon. A favorite location of my group of friends. The food is to die for, amazing ramen! My favorite dish is the tonkotsu ramen. The lunch specials give you any choice of naan and a dish to go with it, and unlimited rice. The service sometimes is a little slow because there's generally only one waiter, but that is the only complaint that can be had. Not enough to bump this down from a 5* rating. The food is unrivaled in stamford, by far the best indian restaurant we've been able to find in town. Haven't ordered a single thing off the menu that has disappointed to date, highly recommend this place if you enjoy good indian food! read more

First things first. Food is great. Really great. It reminds me of the food at home that my mom and dad made when we lived together. Heres why it's getting a 4 and not a 5 4 Stars for a fantastic LUNCH special. $10 gets you everything you need for a great meal with the choice of meat you prefer (Goat. Just try it). It includes all the Naan and Rice you need for the meat: The first time I ordered, I turned that one lunch special into three meals throughout the day. It doesn't get a 5 star because of the dinner.. It's the same food, however the price goes up to $17 for this dish. And it does not include the Naan. That is separate. It also appears to be the same portion of food (Except the naan). This is extremely unfortunate because to get the same meal as the lunch special I would be spending over double the money (Around $22). I hope they can update this pricing to get us frequent customers less hesitant to go in there more often. If not, I completely understand. Business is business. Food, service and ambiance was underwhelming. We walked in for lunch on a weekday and there was only 1 person in the front end who didn't even look interested in his job. The fried rice was acceptable and my friends liked the tonkotsu ramen but the chicken ramen was not worth it as it was bland and the noodles were soggy. Samosa Chaat was way too spicy even though I asked it to be medium spicy and not even Chaat on it to make it a samosa Chaat. All in all, I do not recommend. read more

If I lived in the area, I would be here all the time. The food is fantastic. Came here for the lunch special - $9.99/$12.99 for a curry (you pick your protein + curry type), choice of bread and rice. The portions are great, they tailor the spice to your desired level, and there's just more food than you can eat. I got paneer korma, husband got the goat saag and we couldn't decide which was better - they were both just that amazing. We started the meal with Dahi Batata Sev Poori (we had no idea how big the lunch portion would be!) and I would come back for the poori all the time. Pockets full of Indian flavor . Really solid Indian joint in Stamford! This has been bookmarked for awhile and I'm glad I finally had time to stop by. It's in a central location with plenty of parking spots around in the downtown the area. I came on a Sat at 9pm. The restaurant is pretty small and there were a few patrons eating. The waitress was really sweet but the service/attentiveness seemed pretty slow and almost too relaxed. It took a little while for us to get seated, have our waters poured/orders taken, and eventually our check paid at the end despite not being busy. Despite all of that, I would come back again for the food. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and garlic naan. The portions were surprisingly massive (way larger than all of the other Indian places I've been to by at least twice the size). It was enough to feed two people with plenty of leftovers for a nice reheated lunch the next morning. Thankfully the tikka masala wasn't too spicy, and the creaminess of the saag paneer truly balanced out the chunks of tender chicken. The rice and naan tied it all together and hit the spot. I was a very happy camper that day. The price is a little steep (around $18-$19 per dish), but I heard the lunch special is the same portion but for only $10 instead! Also heard the goat vindaloo is a fan favorite. Definitely going to try that next time and see if it holds true :) Compared to other Indian places in Stamford (Coromandel, etc) this may be my favorite place so far. Came in with a toddler, the server did not care to ask if we needed a high chair. Got kids water for the toddler but did not get a straw to go along with it. Asked for extra tissues for the kid ..they never came. The server dips their fingers in the glasses that are given for water! And they do not offer straws :) Anyway, it's a restaurant ..so let's get to the food. We had ordered Dahi Sev batata puri. It was ok ..the yogurt in it made it better. Also got mango lassi which was better than the starter. Next for the entrees we ordered Veg Fried Rice and Egg Fried Rice. Exceeded expectations! Must have their fried rice. I thought it was an odd offering with a combo of indian and ramen. I stuck with indian this time. I had the tandoori wings and biriyani murgh. The wings were flavorful and juicy. The biryani measured up as well. I wish there was a little more chicken but i am not really complaining. Food was delicious but the service was a little slow. Love this place! One of our go-tos for takeout (and occasional dine in) when we feel the need for something spicy and different than the norm! The garlic naan seems simple, but is a must get... every time. We also like the samosa chaat and wings for apps. As far as entrees go, it's hard to go wrong. We've tried the noodle soups, goat and lamb curry, shrimp Hakka, and biryani. All delicious!! We haven't ventured past those things much because they are so good... but someday we will get to the whole menu! read more
