Found this place on google, I was craving dessert and decided to check it out. I was very impressed by the extended menu that included tons and tons of different food, including bubble tea. At first I was gonna place an order over the phone but decided to just do it in person. Once I arrived, the place unfortunately was closed, the sign said they would be back but nobody was there and the door was locked with a little sign that said to call that number. At that point I guess I could of just left but I was so hungry, I was really craving pho so I called the number and the nice lady said she was out on a delivery but she was on her way back and allowed me to place my order over the phone w her. In the meantime to kill time, went to a nearby target. Once she arrived and my food was ready, she gave me a call and I went to pick it up. The lady was apologetic about the wait, very nice woman, handed me my food to go and I left.I did get to check the place out, small establishment, but cozy and very hip and cool, would have been nice to eat there and hang out. I got 5 orders of their pho and a mango bubble tea. At that point I had waited a good 40mins if not more so I was starving and tired, the mango bubble tea was EVERYTHING, it was creamy, fruity, just right, and that made me more excited to get home and eat my food! Now, I'm used to adding the leaves and other things to my pho myself , so I thought certain condiments would come separate but turns out it was already all prepared in the plastic container which no big deal. The taste was good, very very tasty... however, very different than your regular Vietnamese pho. Now I don't know if it was because it wasn't necessarily a Vietnamese place (based on their food menu with mostly Korean stuff) that the pho was different, different meat and diff condiments so alright it was a tasty broth with noodles, it's not your typical pho so I have to be honest, i was disappointed. I spent quite some money there so I feel like a combination of wait time, inconvenience and disappointment in the pho, turned me off a bit. I feel like, as a customer, I was very accommodating and still gave them my business so that could of been an opportunity for them to use their customer service as a secret weapon to get me to come back?... Overall, I don't think I'll be driving out of my way to go eat there but if I'm in the nearby area, I'll deff be stopping for a nice bubble tea drink! read more

The service at this establishment is truly top tier! My boyfriend and I are now "regulars" and anytime we come in Ess always makes sure that we are in and out in a timely manner. They also have a large selection of Milk Tea and everything and all of their ingredients are so fresh as well. Their selection of banh mi is phenomenal and definitely my favorite. Honestly 0 stars. I walked in here to order something and had a bag of trash (that had NO FOOD in it). Immediately upon entry was told that i cannot throw outside food here. I tried to explain to the man that's there was no food just random napkins and that i am planning on ordering. He immediately followed it up quite rudely that " by law no food can be thrown out here"???? I felt as if i was getting pranked on? Is this man okay? There is no reason to talk to people as if they are bottom of their shoe. Mind you their place is small and the food is pricey. I've been here three times with friends and family. The place has fun decor and great to have a Korean place with such mix of drinks and elaborate menu of sit-down food as well. The bubble tea was delicious, as was the food. In terms of drinks, they especially specialize in fruit-flavored bubble tea. The service has always been really nice. We both had wonderful boba teas! We were visiting the Japanese market down the street and went in on a whim. The menu is pretty long and covers a lot of different types of food. We want to come back and try a few things. The staff was awesome! The were incredibly helpful guiding us through the menu and then making custom items for us. The teas were both fantastic! The location is convenient and the inside is its own unique, whimsical space with random nerd items around like anime and Star Wars characters. They even have a book rack, which was fun. I stopped by Ninja (for the very first time) for a nice Friday pick-me-up, after a long day at work and drive to Stamford from New York. I used to live here, so I was excited to see an actual bubble tea shop had opened up. I couldn't believe how pricey the drink was, but went ahead and ordered a large Royal Assassin (milk tea) anyway because I was in dire need of boba and wanted to treat myself to something nice. I ordered and was told to wait 2 minutes, so I waited... and waited ... with my daughter, for a good 15-20 minutes... just for a milk tea with boba and a strawberry slush. I am very patient so, fine, I waited, but that wasn't the disappointing part. The milk tea looked horrible when handed to me, but I didnt judge until I took several sips. It was WHITE like snow and tasted like milk diluted with ice water. IT HAD ABSOLUTELY NO TEA FLAVOR. What makes matters worse is, the boba was TOUGH. Just plain weird. Strolling down Summer Street in Stamford, we spotted this ramen/pho/bubble tea/korean/pizza shop and decided to stop in on a lark. Whoever designed this menu needs to stop cooking and find another profession. When I say the menu is all over the place.... well, check it out yourself. The interior is designed like a garage sale. I found this place on a whim when searching for bubble tea shops since I was going to be somewhat in the area (I was in Greenwich) and I now go every Thursday. The owners are a husband and wife team, very very nice people. The drinks are great - you can make your own combination of flavors, which they have so many of. At first I went with my usual, safe flavors (brown sugar milk tea) but have since branched out to the fruit teas and various flavored jellies. I also have learned that the teas with jellies can be kept overnight and drank the next day without any co promise to the flavor. Score for me so I can bring a bunch home to hold me over until the next time I visit. I'm working myself home to the GIANT sized cup they sell, I think 32oz? Food was pretty good. Service was mediocre at best. I was the only one dining in the restaurant and they barley acknowledged me after I received my entree. I'm glad I didn't need anything because they were not around to accommodate me. When I asked for chili oil the chef/waiter said I think I made it so you don't need to add anything. Tried their bibimbap, kimchi pancakes and bubble tea. The bibimbap was a whopping $16 and very very light on the toppings. We specifically mentioned that we were vegan but the kimchi pancakes had a weird smell - perhaps they were cooked in the same pan as meat? I'm not sure. The bubble tea is very very watery. We went around lunch time, 12pm we stayed in, my husband had a mango bubble tea and I had a matcha with oat milk. They were great!! Lunch was ok he ordered chicken teriyaki with rice and egg on top, egg came after we asked. I I ordered the tofu sandwich. Place was nice and clean service was nice but they were in the kitchen most of the time so we had to wait for everything if we needed anything. Overall I am really disappointed. To begin, I was sent the wrong sandwich, which is fine, I understand mistakes happen. Usually I roll with with it and try to enjoy regardless, but I couldn't. This is what a $16 dollar sandwich looks like? There was more spinach than beef on my sandwich. The beef was extremely dry and flavorless. It was supposed to have cheddar cheese but instead was topped with Kraft American. The $7 French chefs special French fries were worth maybe $2, as they were soggy and flavorless. I really just feel completely ripped off. I was really hoping the bubble tea would be good since this is their specialty, but it was lackluster. So happy we found a Banh Mi place closer to home. We ordered the chicken, bulgogi and classic pork & pate sandwiches and all three exceeded our expectations. The meat is perfectly seasoned. Veggies are fresh and bread is crunchy. It's not traditional but close enough and very delicious. My dad agreed and said it was one of the best he ever had. Milk tea is dairy free (a plus!) and fruit tea is yummy too. Prices are a bit higher but comparable to the area. Staff is very friendly. It's an alternative option for when we don't want to drive to Bridgeport, Hartford or NYC for awesome Banh Mi. read more

They have awesome bubble teas. They are also super friendly inside and very outgoing. They remember you if you go in often. They have a reward system too which is really cool. Their milk teas are delish along with their fresh fruit tea. The only thing is the jelly I wish they would keep cold to make it taste better but other than that love this place! The bubble tea here is amazing and I love all of the customizable options available. My go-to for bubble teas. BUT I was super disappointed by their banh mi sandwiches. It's the only place in Stamford that I know makes them so I was so excited to try but they ended up being really underwhelming. They were VERY light on the fillings so it was just mostly bread. Giving 4 because I am happy to have found a place that makes Vietnamese sandwiches which I fell in love with in Texas.. also because they have a large menu with lots of options BUT my bbq bahn mi did fall pretty short to my expectations, the beef was not bold in flavor (probably not marinated long enough) and the veggies lacked crunch because they were sliced paper thin which is not traditional... usually the veg is pickled and julienned giving the sandwich crunch and flavor. Came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon to try their ramen and Korean snacks. The menu is very, very confusing. First, we were given a laminated menu with bubble tea on it one side and "popular@ dishes in the other side. Then, the server handed us an iPad with what appeared to be their GrubHub menu AND a second tab for their "Bao" menu. But that's not it. There were two tv screens with menus on it with conflicting prices. One menu showed bibimbap was $20 and the other screen showed that the price forthe same exact dish was $16. Bottom line is that they need to use ONE menu. Their ramen uses a pho broth, which was delicious. The bulgogi was tasty but sadly did not not have any radish. Veggie spring rolls were nice but light in the veg. The Korean chicken burrito was also tasty but not worth the $16 price tag that came with it. Taro bubble tea was ok but nothing compared to The Whale Tea's fresh taro tea. Seating area is small but comfortable and the food took a while to come out since they have limited staff. I would return but probably only for a quick snack, not a meal. read more

There seems to be debate about their banh mi pricing, but I guess the value call is for customers to decide. Got the Chicken Bahn Mi and it may be my new favorite sandwhich in Stamford - great amount of spice and super nice roasted chicken with the expected savory and sweet pickle flavors.
