This location is going downhill with the food quality. This is the third time ordering delivery and twice the food was so salty and tasted bad like it had been reheated in a microwave several times. Yay, we finally made it to the new location in Addison. It was a very busy Saturday mid-afternoon, the place was packed. We managed to grab two seats at the bar, our always preferred seating area. The decor is beautiful with a lot of Spanish tiles, unique chandeliers, and the usual faux palm trees and the rear end of a Chevy where appetizers are served during weekday happy hours. The place feels like an old house, a very welcoming and fun comfortable atmosphere.. The patio area is beautiful and quite large. Will be great to enjoy on a day not so windy as it was on our visit. Promptly greeted by a most friendly Perla. I ordered the Rocking 'Rita, my friend had his usual Miller Lite. My oh my, I've discovered another place to add spots for my favorite top shelf margarita. It was over the top delicious with that wonderful golden color which "screams" lots of Grand Marnier. This 'rita rates a glowing "10" on the scale. Another pleasant surprise - wafer thin, oily, salty chips, just like I like. Chuy's, you've earned my eternal devotion with these perfect chips. The salsa was also quite good, just chunky enough, with a nice smokey flavor. Oh, and that jalapeno ranch dressing - what a home run! We're off to a great start with these munchies (and of course, that luscious margarita). We both ordered salads - for me the taco salad with fajita chicken and my dining companion had the Cobb. The salad portions were huge with mixed greens, avocado, tomatoes, cheese, etc. The chicken was moist and tender with a very nice grilled flavor. I had the Cilantro Vinaigrette dressing which was light but oh so flavorful with a light spicy kick. I couldn't resist, however, spooning some of the jalapeno ranch on top. Service by Perla and Rachael, another server in the bar, was exemplary. These ladies were so busy, but smiling, laughing and engaging with all the customers. I don't know what all these low ballin reviewers are smoking because Chuy's is the best TexMex on planet earth. I've eaten TexMex all across Texas and I keep coming back to Chuy's. Their creamy jalapeño sauce is worth 5 stars in and of itself, and the boom boom queso, homemade salsa and tres leches cake take it up to 20 stars.... Minimum. Do yourself a favor! Order the chicka chicka boom boom with Mexican rice (instead of cilantro lime), a big marg on the rocks, and a slice of cake for dessert. I always went to one on the 75. But, it usually has a waiting time of 45 mins on a weekend. So, me and a few friends on mine decided to try this one. We got in at 10:00 PM on a Friday night. Although the food was good, I must say I was fairly disappointed with their service. It must be because, I was trying to compare it with the one I usually visit. Rude Alert: One of my friend asked for a double/large margarita, the waiter got the usual one and kept it on the table. He didn't even bother to ask or check with my friend whether he has okay with the smaller one. When we asked him for a bigger one, his reply was "That's the biggest we got man". Couldn't he have told that while he took the order! One of the reasons to visit Chuy's is their delicious creamy jalapeño dip. But, guess what, the one this place served tasted like sea water, with so much salt in it. The only thing I liked was the entrée. Chuy's has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I got the Friday special, the hatch valley chicken enchiladas. Aha! The chicken was rightly cooked with all the flavors hitting your taste buds at the right spot. The 3 stars is only for the entree! I came here with my family, and the service was great! My parents ordered their veggie enchiladas, but asked for flour tortillas instead of corn. When they received their order, my dad received a piece of hair in their order, and the waiter and even the General Manager made them a replacement very quickly, and apologized profusely. I especially love their salsa, which is very fresh and has a nice citrus flavor. I ordered their cheese enchiladas with queso sauce, which was good, but not amazing. I love Chuy's. I have a problem with how much I love Chuy's because I can eat about 9 baskets of chips and salsa with queso and then dinner and then dessert. Mmm. Anyway. I've been to several Chuy's locations. My usual is the one in west Plano (Tollway and Parker). I've ordered To Go from this Addison Chuy's before, but never eaten here. My friend M and I went out walking around Arbor Hills in Plano on MLK day since we were both off work. After trekking around that place for a couple of hours, we had the hunger. Oh the hunger. M was on the verge of hangry. We wind up at this Chuy's at around 3:35. I know their Nacho Car opens at 4, so we were a little early, but I convinced M to not order queso and we'd just get some in 20ish minutes. We sat in the bar area, to be nearer to the wonder that is the Nacho Car. We sat and then we waited... and waited... and waited... The bartender got our drink orders (water and a coke) and brought us some chips and salsa. We weren't brought menus and M's coke was way off on the syrup/soda ratio (it looked more like tea than coke and tasted super gross). We waited around a little longer before M got up and went and got menus from the host stand. Around that time, another patron went and got his own menu as well. M and I peruse the menu, deciding what deliciousness we want while we devour the chips and salsa. And then we wait... and wait... The other patron who got his own menu got up and walked over to the bartender to place his order. After this, the bartender came and took our order, too. It's now after 4 and the Nacho Car isn't open. A server sees me eyeing it and says she's setting it up and it'll be open soon. Sure enough, she does fill it with chips and salsa, but nothing else. A few minutes later, our food arrives, delivered by a different server. She asks if she can get us anything and M says, "Silverware" as it would be difficult to eat her salad without a fork. The servers agrees to get us some and then completely vanishes, along with all of the other servers, apparently. After a few minutes, I walk up to the host stand and get silverware myself-- I have to walk around 2 servers and a host to get 2 silverware packages from the basket. Not once did any of them ask if I needed anything or offer to get the silverware for me. At 4:15, I mention to one of the servers who was checking on us that the Nacho Car is still missing most of its goodies. At 4:20, someone from the kitchen finally brings out the queso, beans, etc. for the Nacho Car. I have been wanting queso like no one's damn business, so despite the fact that our meals are pretty much finished, I go get some and it's delicious- as always. The food was good, as usual. Every time we actually interacted with a server, they were pleasant... but just not terribly attentive. As we left, I asked to speak to a manager, just to let them know about the huge service discrepancy between this location and the west Plano location. Had the restaurant (or even just the bar) been full, I'd have understood the delays- but it was closer to empty! I had to wait for a manager to come up and she seemed pseudo-concerned. For what it's worth, I'll just keep going to the Plano location, despite the Addison one being closer to my house. Their service is consistently better. read more

Fun atmosphere, great happy hour specials, good for lunch. I have now been to Chuy's about 5 times, and I really like it. I love the baja tacos with shrimp. They put a lot of shrimp and the flavor is really good. For happy hour, the margaritas are really reasonable. I love the mango margarita the best. They also have the Nacho Car at happy hour which has chips, queso, ground beef, etc. There is plenty of seating, but the earlier the better for happy hour. We wanted Mexican food this night & didn't want anything else that was in the area, so we decided to give Chuy's another try. I'm glad we did. She got there before me & was seated right away. The place was packed & I'm not surprised, as most restaurants are when they first open. My wife ordered the Famous Burrito with fajita beef!! I'm not a big beef eater...but it was so tender & seasoned very well. I ordered the quesadillas...which looked like grilled tacos lol. I went on a Sunday night, and my friends and I were sat at the bar which was fine other than the fact that it's a really crowded space. It felt like we were literally in the conversations of the people around us. This made us feel uncomfortable to talk at a normal voice because we didn't want to be bothering everyone around us. Our server was nice and funny, and had good knowledge of the menu. All of our food was subpar at best. My quesadillas were very obviously cooked on a dirty grill which just so happens to be one of my biggest pet peeves. This place has a nice atmosphere, and original car/dog themed decor. They also have yummy creamy jalapeño dip they bring out before your meal with chips and salsa. I might come back just to try their tres leches cake and have some chips & dip. read more

I LOVE CHUYS! Came here with my mother-in -law, sister-in-law and newborn baby nephew. First we sat on the patio but then ended up moving inside because it started to sprinkle. The server Trevor did an excellent job at helping us move inside. We were than greeted by John who took care of us the rest of the time.He was very nice, and got everything we needed in a timely manner. Chuys Addison is a newer addition to the Chuy's family(it's only been about a year since they have opened) but it's a cool hangout spot.They have a patio bar outside which is great because in the summer Belt Line is poppin in Addison! I came for a weekday lunch and was seated right away. I was immediately greeted by a server trainee and brought chips and salsa. I love their fresh, chunky salsa, it has so much flavor and not too much spice. I also asked for sides of the creamy jalapeno dip (like ranch with a little kick) and deluxe tomatillo (like a creamy green salsa), they're awesome to dip chips into as well. Heads up on the deluxe tomatillo, it's a heated sauce so it will take a minute longer coming from the kitchen. I ordered the deluxe chicken enchiladas with blue corn tortillas instead of the regular white it comes with. Do blue corn tortillas taste that much different than white? I don't really know but I like to think so! Plus, they look cool. They were brought out not long after piping hot. They don't skimp on the chicken inside and it was moist and tender. The enchiladas come drenched in the deluxe tomatillo sauce, with a side of rice and beans. I like to pour some deluxe tomatillo sauce on the plate and mix it in with my rice and beans, all together. Are you seeing a trend here? I kind of like the deluxe tomatillo sauce! Service, from both the trainee and regular server, was excellent. I wanted for nothing. Place was great. Haven't been since they 1st opened and the crowd was mad hectic. This time it was a little more laid back. Addison has more locations to fulfill your happy hour fix so that may have been a plus... Oh and the rain may have been a factor. The hostess was very pleasant and sat us right away. I order here for a large group during lunch. It is easy to pick up, always ready in decent time, and always delicious! The girls at the front always seem clueless during lunch hours, but I can't imagine that they're the best there are but they're always nice. I usually find it's best to walk on In and get my food order rather than wait outside for a server to come to me (because they will do this if you call in your order.) Overall- the food always meets standards and the orders are never messed up. That's a lot to ask when you're ordering for 5-7 picky (very specific) ladies. Oh- and TIP: Ask for the Jalapeño Ranch sauce to dip your chips in! There is nothing better! read more

When visiting Dallas this past weekend, our friends suggested we meet at Chuy's for lunch before we flew back home. The ambiance is very quirky and unique. They have a very interesting tee shirt wall with shirts to buy and the designs were pretty cool. The service was good, our waitress was attentive and also made some suggestions for us first timers on what to order. The portions here are very large, so keep that in mind when ordering. Most plates come with the yellow rice and refried beans. The dessert here is also quite tasty! Overall, very fun place to eat and grab some good Tex-Mex while in Texas! read more

I thought a Chuy's would be immune from the issues that plague new restaurants but i was wrong. We go to the one in east Plano where the service is great and we rarely have any kind of issue. Not the case here. We walked in and was told there would be a wait for a table. No problem, we told the hostess we would go eat in the bar area. Except that you can't...at least at the tables. After sitting down and ordering drinks, we were told that you can only eat at the bar itself, but only apps/snacks at the tables because they don't want to overwhelm the kitchen. Okay. Back out to the hostess stand and we were soon seated at a two-top. We were graced with one of the worst waiters I've had in a long time. He wasn't rude, in fact he was friendly, but it was like the lights were on but no one's home. At the one in Plano, there is a special dish every night of the week but that section was missing from the menu here. So my husband asked the waiter if there were any specials and the waiter proceeded to tell us there is nothing on the menu that is discounted. Thanks for letting us know, that's not what we asked. I then ordered my usual, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas and asked for a side of the creamy jalapeño sauce (which is like crack, it's so good) for the chips. Waiter then asked if I still want the boom-boom sauce on my enchiladas since I asked for the jalapeño sauce and I point out it's for my chips. He said he would get the sauce right out to me then. Ten minutes later, he's made numerous appearances in the dining room but no sauce. I have to flag down another waiter to get it for me. How hard is it? Luckily, in the kitchen they have it together because the food was good. My enchiladas were delicious with a bit of a kick from the sauce. I will go back in a few months once the service gets up to par. They have a great patio that would be a lot of fun to sit out on. read more

Funny, we have avoided this place since we moved from California. We thought it was the same chain of restaurants we had there and we did not like them. My wife was in Nashville and went to a Chuy's up there with some friends. She told me it was completely different than what we had in CA. So, we decided to check out the one in Plano after a Costco run. Good choice! It is VERY different than the company in CA, in a GOOD way. Our service was excellent and our lunch was very good. I'm not sure why I did not give it 5 stars but we will return soon and perhaps move it up a notch. The place was very busy at lunch time, so the locals know it is good food. Chuys is one of my favorite places to go to for Tex-Mex. Although it's usually crowded and parking can be hard to find, the food and staff make it worth it. If you're lost on what to order, I recommend trying either their Chicka Chicka boom boom enchiladas or their famous "Big As Yo Face" burrito with chicken or your choice of meat. The burrito is pretty big so share with someone or get half unless you're feeling hungry. It also comes with your choice of sauce which typically goes on top of the burrito or you can request to have it on the side. Chuy's is known for their spicy Boom Boom sauce so I recommend you trying that however, I chose to go the milder route and got a side of queso. If you don't like refried don't get the the burrito because they put a lot of it inside. As for their drinks, I tried their pina colada, strawberry swirl, and the house Rita with strawberry lime swirl but personally liked the strawberry swirl the best. Overall, service was good and staff was friendly. Our waitress made sure we always had a full basket of nachos and a side of salsa. Would definitely come here again. read more

Finally made it to Chuy's as my first visit. As I heard about this place, I always wanted to try it. It's a well above averaged regional tex-mex chain with splashy atmosphere reminiscent of a diner. We started off with chips and guacamole and salsa. Then, I had the #1 Comida dinner. Everything is really good, but unfortunately the salsa had too much lime juice for my taste (although, it had some kick to it), and the food portions are huge. We couldn't finish half of our plates; so we took the rest home. I love how the enchiladas are dipped in red sauce, then is topped with Chile con carne. Friendly service with a side of a smile for us..and jolly too because of the blasted music over the speakers. I'd say i'll try this place again. Next time for a late happy hour. Not sure if it has a bar with a TV in it as I didn't look around much. read more

Previous Dine-in experience was 4/5; Food & Service was good, but really noisy. We've since ordered To-go three times, usually ordering a variety of salads and appetizers. The results have been tasty, but we found the portions to be small for what we paid. For example, their standard queso and guacamole are over $14 together, and they come in 1-cup containers. They're good, but not that good. The salads come in clear, thin, 3-sectioned to-go containers. Looking from the top, it's "Yeah! Salad!" Then when you put your fork in and find all the loss of salad space from the sections, it's "Oh. Salad." Again, the food is good, but portions seem a lot smaller for the price and quality. If we do take-out again, it won't be salads, queso, or guacamole. read more

It's all the same recipe, but this one does it better somehow. The chicken here was great...hearty and tasty. It was also the best chicken I have had at a Chuy's before. The house Margarita was on point. The chips were better as well. Very warm and perfectly seasoned. Great service and an excellent patio that I'll come back for. I've never been to this Chuy's before. I was really, really impressed with their outdoor patio that sits in front of the restaurant. It's really pretty at night and is decked out in detail and color. The service at this particular location was mediocre. Granted, we were a party of 7-8, but on a Tuesday night. Snaggy (real name? protective services granted name?) was really, really slow. I went on a Sunday after church... Busy time. The service was still some how excellent. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. This is usually hard to mess up but also pretty simple tasting. Except at this restaurant. The salad was fresh, crisp lettuce. The server recommend this jalapeño ranch dressing that was AMAZING! The only reason for not giving a 5th star is the food off the kids meal was not good at all. This is a very loud/lively restaurant so don't go looking to hold deep conversations.
