Spending the weekend in Dallas and my friend brought me to El Rincon, a restaurant she frequents. I had such a great time. Every single employee was friendly, the service was great, and the atmosphere was very lively. My friend and I ordered the Mexican fried rice which was made with chicken and beef fajitas, shrimp, chorizo, an over easy egg and a variety of veggies. It was pretty good! A lot better than what I was initially expecting. Then we shared a plate of the Dos Burritos De Carne. Which was like a steak burrito with ancho sauce and cheese. It came with a side of refried beans and rice~ however, because we were already eating the fried rice we opted out of including the side of rice it originally comes with. This meal was tasty as well. They have a great happy hour. I got the house strawberry margarita and it was great. The bill split evenly between my friend and I came to about $53. Not bad considering we had quite a few margaritas lol. Really great place to come and hang out with friends. I had an exceptional time. Thanks El Rincon! read more

Finally got around to try this cute place in my neighborhood. Actually went on a lil date here. Sat at the bar and ordered a frozen margarita since it was $5 for happy hour. I also ordered the Birria tacos. The margarita was pretty good. Just a frozen house margarita. I could've probably drank like 3 of them but I wasn't trying to do too much lol The birria tacos are pretty good. I like that they are actually crispy. They had plenty of birria meat inside and cheese and I love that they put the onions and cilantro on the side with some lime wedges. Their consume was a bit more greasy than some other places I've had but it had good flavor and a small hint of spice so I liked that. I will definitely order them again. We also got some of the loaded queso and it was delicious! I liked that they didn't skimp on the meat or toppings. I think I will definitely make this more of a regular place for me to just grab a good drink and a quick bite since it's right in my neighborhood. Went here on a Saturday for lunch with my children and grandchildren after spending time in the park, what a nightmare. Service was extremely slow. We had young kids so they provided kids activity menu. We asked for crayons and we're told "I'll try to hunt for them". Waited @ 20 mins for a waitress to take our order. My daughter in law ordered a Margherita. That was delivered more than halfway thru the meal. Food tood another 30 -40 minutes to be served then waited another 20 minutes for the check. I told my family they could leave while I waited for the check. Never again! Food was ok, nothing more. My advice, try one of the other restaurants in the circle. read more

Love this place! My home away from home! And the brisket tacos - melt in your mouth. Check out the Cocktail of the Month, such a treat. Have always found the staff to be so helpful and responsive. I eat the guacamole there almost every day - freshly made on-site. Also, the soups are a treat. Love everything about this place - and I'm there about 4 days a week. I want to preface this review with I'm not a proponent of leaving negative reviews or someone who has 1 bad experience and wants to take it to the internet, but I've been a loyal regular since the 1st month Rincon opened and an Addison Circle resident who wants this place to succeed. However, enough is enough; management needs an overhaul. They have failed to properly hold their employees to a standard. I shouldn't have to go find my own silverware on a daily basis, or constantly flag down staff to bring chips & salsa. Glass of water? Forget it. These instances happen when there's literally just 5 tables in the whole restaurant! (Take a clue from Blue Goose, that place is constantly slammed but you still get great service; employees know how to hustle). Service is painfully slow. The food portions have drastically gotten smaller but what's even worse, quality has diminished. Notice the photos- the guac was brown and the nachos were the saddest plate of nachos I've ever seen. A handful of the staff constantly acts like I, the customer, is a bother and inconvenience to them. The amount of attitude received here is unacceptable. How dare I politely ask for service. Patio TV has been broken 2+ yrs, you can buy new one right now for under $150, why hasn't this been fixed? The list goes on & on. I'm starting to feel that us regulars are condoning bad behavior because we continue to support the business. Regulars keep this place afloat and yet we're treated the worst. Again, I want them to succeed but ownership needs to know how downhill things are becoming! read more

I am so surprised this restaurant doesn't have a higher rating! I went with a social group Saturday night. Even though there were almost 20 of us, the service was amazing! Gary took such great care of us. And to top it off, the food was delicious! We tried the charro soup (beans were nice and soft and the flavor was outstanding) and the grilled chicken with vegetables. It was such a nice surprise to have zucchini, carrots and squash for vegetables (many Mexican restaurants I go to just give me a heaping pile of bell peppers and onions). Everything was so good and o look forward to going again!!! read more

El rincón is one of the best restaurants I've been to. The managers truly care, the servers are always great and the kitchen, and the bartenders. Even though they get really busy they really make the effort. It's hard right now on all restaurants so I appreciate them trying their best even when something is out, very accommodating. The food is good too! The brisket tacos, birria, elote... been there a few times already and see the same people and customers, though the customers are sometimes mean to staff they always have a smile on their face and give one to their other tables. We started going for the Saturday reverse happy Hour and would bring from 12 to 36 folks for Dinner. We used the Addison location primarily, but the Carrollton has the same issues: The food is the lowest grade. I don't really know of a Tex Mex palce with worse food. The service is just a total mess with servers forgetting to put in some of the orders, getting orders wrong. I can forgive ho long some orders took because we are always a large crowd. The restaurants always bungle the reservations. Sometimes the reservation is lost, sometimes placed on the wrong day and most often the managers short the reservation. So we have a reservation for 20, and they only set up for 10 or 12. We end up either extremely cramped or having to separate the group to different parts of the restaurant. The latest attempt, we got a low level person when we tried to set the reservation, and they refused to set a reservation at all. Maybe that makes sense if they don't have the organization or desire to have a lot of people in the restaurants? We have permanently removed this restaurant from our rotation. If you want good Tex Mex, go elsewhere. read more

I loved the environment! The Mexican decor is cute and very colorful. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The menu did provide your go to Mexican cuisine and in my case I had to try out the pollo zucchini salad which they had I believe a cilantro dressing which was so delicious. The chips and salsa was provided as a great starter. If your like me, I love a good tortilla chip which hasn't been fried in house. Which these aren't, as for the salsa I would have like a little more kick to it but it was still good. The house margarita was awesome and defiantly held its own. I know it was a busy day but there's no excuse to what happened yesterday. From the moment we sat down to a sticky table to not having utensils, having to ask for them, then getting plasticware when everyone else around us had real forks, knives and cloth napkins to receiving room temp water and "iced tea" with no ice and finally feeling like we were being rushed so we inhaled our food. Again, I know it was a busy night, but there were empty tables around us so I know is not like they were packed. If the food had been delicious, I would have been cool with it, but not even that. Ordered chicken al carbon tacos lunch special for takeout. It was salty and mushy, the tortilla was just grease. Rice had no flavor and the guac and pico didn't look fresh. Tea was good. I came here a few nights ago with a group of seven. I had suggested El Rincon because I'd been a couple of times in the past and hadn't been disappointed. Safe to say, I won't be back to this location. Four out of the seven people in my group were sick the next day and we all got different things -- chicken and guacamole chalupas, beef fajitas and verde enchiladas. The shredded chicken in the chalupas and verde enchiladas was either canned, flavorless chicken or at least a week old. It was terrible. I made it through about one bite. I think that was the primary cause of sickness. The guacamole in the chalupas was not brown, but it wasn't green, either. It was in between. Just not very appealing to a customer. The beef fajitas were overcooked. My lime, on the rocks margarita was sour and didn't taste like it had any tequila in it. I'm glad I can finally write this review. I'm finally beginning to feel less sick. My only pro is that they have good tortillas. read more

We live close by in Addison. They have a dog friendly patio. Great drink specials. I love their margaritas it sounds cliche right? We had fun on Cinco de mayo. Went here for dinner with the girls, we saw they had a Margarita flight and we really wanted to try it. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with our server Mayra and seated. The restaurant wasn't full nor was it empty there was a handful of people in the casual eatery. We started off with drinks, the whole reason we were there, the Margarita flight. All 3 margaritas were super sour and not enjoyable for that reason. I was ready to return it and ask for something else when my friend suggested we add simple syrup to the three drinks. We were given the syrup and they made the drinks much better, however I should not have to doctor my own drink. Next, we ordered appetizers. I ordered the Bontanas Platter and I specifically asked for no beans on anything . My appetizer took forever and my nachos had beans on it, so I had to send it back to the kitchen to be remade. We worked on our appetizers and talked for 20-30 minutes to the point we questioned "where is our server?" We had to flag her down just to order our entrees, and I do want to add it wasn't the busiest inside the restaurant. I was craving a Chile relleno, but they said they were sold out so I settled with the chimichanga. My friend and I's food took 20-30 minutes to come out and my food wasn't even hot. The sauce that my friends food was supposed to come with didn't have the right ingredients so THEY made the decision to sub the sauce for her. Really low quality food. I've tried El Rincon twice now and won't be back unless it's just for a beer. They have good happy hour prices but didn't care for any cocktails or margaritas -- way too sweet for my preference. The salsa is great but chips are super greasy. This is a pick of the crap they put in front of you. Take a look at the water from the relleno. With every bite water came gushing out of my mouth. It had not flavor but on the flip side the rice and beans were good. My friends tacos tasted as if the tortilla was left out all day and developed a dry crust around it.
