Came here with an open table reservation and sat on the patio! It was a beautiful day out and the patio is semi covered with fans. This location is right on a golf course, so be aware of flying balls (we watch two land in the dining area). Our server was kind, honest, and informative! I got the bacon wrapped shrimp and it was very good! There is a little sliced jalapeño in it, but it's not spicy. I would definitely come back. read more

1 Star. Used to be a regular, but this place has completely gone downhill. My wife and I were long-time customers who visited frequently. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was so disappointing that we walked out and will never return. The decline in quality was obvious right away. The chips were stale, and our drinks were noticeably weak. But the real issue came with how the restaurant handled our order. Our server and her manager promised us a specific happy hour deal. After we had already started eating and drinking from the order (cocktails and appetizers), the store director, Pedraam, walked up and rescinded the offer, insisting we switch to regular menu prices instead. He was completely unwilling to honor what his own team had already agreed to even though our happy hour order had already been served. We barely finished the order and really didn't' know what to do. We decided to forgo dinner and walk out as the evening was ruined. We asked for the check and were told they were comping the order, but by that point, it was too little, too late. I followed up with an email to the main office detailing everything that happened to give them the opportunity to address this. I never received any response, which honestly doesn't surprise me. It perfectly aligns with the attitude of this restaurant. Very poor management but the server was great. We're done with Mesero. read more

I'm not sure what has happened, but I fear there's some big quality control issues needed. I come to Mesero whenever I visit Dallas. Usually it's the Casera salad. Last night, we waited forever to order and finally flagged our waiter down or wouldn't have been able to. Ordered a chopped casera with chicken. Dressing on side. My friend ordered the same. Tons of chicken which was great. It comes out - no side of dressing. Okay fine - they went and got it. But only for me, and we had to remind for my friend. Two tomatoes total. Maybe 15 kernels of corn. The avocado was missing from both. We asked for that and they brought it but my avocado was gross and old where my friend's was good. It was a giant plate of lettuce basically, with some bacon and chicken. Really odd. But how many times were we going to ask for what should've been there? We opted not to after avocado. Another friend had a different salad that also was almost entirely lettuce. So sad because it is a fave. Chips are still great. Server was nice but either super busy or not super attentive. Hope it's as good as the other Mesero for my next visit! read more

Food is excellent. 6 of us came and everyone enjoyed the food. App of quac/queso duo was above average. I had chile relleno and it was great, especially the side slaw. Several had enchiladas and remarked they were great. Portions good sized. Service was really good. Enough attention without hovering. There were 2 downsides we all agreed- noise and too cold. The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk, especially those at the ends of our rectangle. Way too loud. And the temp was too cold. Three folks commented they wish they had a sweater. If they fix these two items, I'd give them 5 stars. I will return and try again. read more

Update 4/25/25: went back with another couple on a Friday evening. Made a rez on open table. Got there about 20 minutes early hoping to be seated sooner than the rez but it was very busy. They also had that bar area to the left of the entrance set up for a private party, so this puts more pressure on both indoor and outdoor seating. Finally our number came up, and we were seated on the patio, which is great because it was very noisy inside. I'm not sure I could have handled that high level of noise. Us older folks really have a hard time hearing in noisy places! The weather was delightful as a dry(er) front had move in after all the rain so it was cooler and far less humid than it had been a few hours before. It couldn't have been better. Service was a bit slow, but we didn't mind as were were dining with friends and we had lots to talk about. Both my wife and I ordered the exact same beverages and entrees as our visit before, we liked them that much. And they didn't disappoint! One of our friends orders the Mexican ceviche appetizer and it looked awesome! The other ordered an enchilada dish and he like his as well. All in all it was a very pleasant evening. I absolutely love the Miguelito plate. Amazing enchiladas, taco, beans and rice. Slaw was ok. I eat it because it has vegetables but I'm not enamored with it lose the rest of the dish. read more

I see these all over Dallas and I finally decide to try. This place gives me like Gloria's cousin. The food was really good like honestly I was so impressed. The three different types of salsas were a good touch and all of them honestly were super good. They all tasted different. I had the chicken enchiladas and it was really good. I also love the fact that they have unlimited beans because that's a great touch. It's really cute in the inside and they also have outdoor seating with heated spacers and it overlooks what I think is a golf course. So the vibe is very sexy inside and outside. I think this place is great for date night and even catching up with family and friends. The service was really great. I will come back again to try drinks. read more

The family and I went here for dinner on a Saturday. We have now been to four Mesero restaurants in the Dallas area. This one is the largest and has a gorgeous patio that overlooks a golf course. it would be great to sit on the patio when the weather is nice. As at other Mesero restaurants, the restaurant is clean and modern. There are tons of servers and so we were seated and immediately attended to. The wife and I had our favorite Meserita margarita and the kid had a soda. The Meserita has excellent flavor and is really tasty. We ordered our old favorites. For me, that was the chili rellano and for the wife that was the braised pork. Both were really good, but I would note that her pork portion was quite a bit smaller than at the Inwood Village location, and my rellano came with mayo-based cole slaw whereas we always get a slaw that is vinegar based at Mesero. Our server, Alexa, who was really nice and friendly, swapped it out with no problem. We started becoming churros fans so we ended with that and they were excellent. They are served warm and unlike others, the caramel is inside. Wow, they are good. Fattening, yes, but oh so good. My one critique is that there was a $3 discrepancy between the price listed on the menu for my rellano and the price I was charged. I did not say anything but I think what you see is what you should pay. Maybe they need to update their menu if the price has changed. Overall, a really good meal, gorgeous restaurant, and excellent service. All the things that we have come to expect when we visit a Mesero restaurant. read more

Wow! One of our favorites has gone down hill. I thought it was strange it was so empty on a Sunday at brunch... now I know why. NEVER sit in the bar area. It's thr furthest point from the kitchen area and the server will not be very engaged. Ice tea was almost like water, incredibly pale. The Six of us had six different entrees.. sentiment the same: overcooked meat, nothing special. Someone said Taco Cabana would have been better. We didn't even finish the queso! We got a last minute reservation on a Friday night to grab a meal before a movie and we're very impressed! The drinks were strong (zero sugar frozen?? Count me in!!) and the food was delicious. I literally never leave reviews but Mesero has burned me too many times. I love their salad so I'm embarrassed to say I've continued to order despite their mistakes, but never again. They've given me the wrong dressing in my order five times (even though after the first time I also started calling to remind them). The last time I ordered, the salad came in 15 small separate containers instead of as a salad? I had to chop everything myself and assemble it. Still no dressing even though I called. This time I ordered they gave my order to the wrong person and then said they can't remake it because the kitchen closed (at 7:45pm?). Very devastating for a starving breastfeeding mama. Love their food but they're wildly unreliable and I'm not sure how they're even functioning as a restaurant. read more

We had a girl's brunch here. The food was just OK. Unfortunately, the service during our visit was very disappointing. It took a very long time before we were even able to place our order. When the waiter brought coffee, the cream and sweetener didn't arrive until much later, by which time the coffee was cold. Throughout the meal, service was consistently slow and inattentive. Several items we ordered were forgotten. Used dishes were not cleared from the table, and at one point the waiter reached across one guest to serve another, which felt unprofessional. To top it off, when our meal ended, the wrong food was placed in my to-go box. Overall, the experience was frustrating and fell well below the level of service we expected. I'd seen another review mention the same issue, and unfortunately it was true for us as well. The kids' meals were fine, but the overall experience wasn't. Service was slow throughout. We had to go inside to find our server just to get the check, and even simple things like water refills took asking. For a party of four, we were only given two menus, which didn't help the experience. I politely mentioned the issues to our server, and they did comp a few items, which we appreciated -- but honestly, I would have preferred paying full price for a solid meal and good service. So, my wife and I seem to walk out of one restaurant per year and it's a little early in the year but we just did it here. We went in large part because we used to love their braised pork dish. I can't comment on whether it was good or not because we never made it that far. Between the pre-pubescent hostess that couldn't give two F's that we were there to having so many people there and none of them aware or interested in our existence. The chips came quick but we could tell early it was just going to get worse while we even waited for waters. We just got to stepping and nobody even noticed we left. Just had dinner at Mesero. Ordered the blackened salmon. well done. This has to be one of the best pieces of salmon I've ever had.! It was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of greens, peppers, and corn. And at $16.95 it was a real bargain! I'm definitely going back for more salmon! read more

I can't here for my birthday! I love the frisco location, so decided to come here To celebrate! The staff was great. The location was lux, beautiful, and clean. I love that they have vegetarian enchiladas- they are delicious! That green salsa is great! My parents told them it was my birthday, so they brought a big sombrero to put on my head and the staff sang to me! The only reason i am giving it 4 stars is because the portion sizes are smaller than at the frisco location. I will come back here though! read more

What a disappointing experience had here at Mesero. The had been wanting to try them for a while now, as it looked like a really nice restaurant from the outside when I passed it so many times. What a mistake. It was a random Wednesday night, so wasn't too packed, the inside is dimly lit and. Nice atmosphere, however upon being seated we got a young waiter who clearly had no idea what he was doing. He knew nothing about the menu when asked. I ended up ordering the shrimp taco combo with an enchilada as well, my GF ordered the fajitas. The tacos I got were cold, and when I asked him to send it back for a fresh one, he literally took my plate all the way back to the back one to bring it back to me and tell me that they'd make me a new order. Sir nobody wants these cold tacos and especially not after you've waved them all through the restaurant. Ugh! So once I got my fresh tacos, they were pretty decent I'd say. Nothing extraordinary though. This is where things really took a turn though, so our young (19 yr old) waiter decides to bring me and my GF two shots (seemingly on "the house") because we didn't ask for them, and we had already ordered our drinks. Asking if we wanted shots from the bartender. We prob should've said no but we thought meh why not (again the way he presented it was they were on the house) but proceeds to say after we had already had them "we finished the last of the bottle so we just gave you a top shelf one" hope you like it. ) well then closer to the end of the meal he comes back with two more and he said "two more for the lovely ladies". And at this point we realized not only had been charged for the two top shelf shots ($18/each) but also he was trying to keep doing it. And when we turned them down he said "that's okay, someone else will take them" and went down the line of booths. We were shocked and pissed off tbh that he was doing this, and essentially hustling customers by making it seem like it was a free shot and then putting it on your bill. I don't even think as a 19 yr old you're supposed to be serving alcohol are you? After looking at other reviews I see that upcharging and upselling is a common practice at the restaurant, which is sad because that is just a poor practice to have. Not to mention the safety aspect of offering free shots from the bar (not knowing what's in it). I will say as a SN: I did complain about it and was able to get a refund for the shots, but it's the principal behind it. I will honestly never go back for this experience alone. read more

We decided to go a Mexican restaurant for national taco day and we chose Mesero in Addison. We had not been here before but it is close to our home. There are several Meseros around the metroplex. This turned out to be great decision. 1. First the restaurant is " Beautiful ". We sat on the patio which is on of the best patio in Dallas because it overlooks a beautiful golf course. It is perfectly covered but does not obstruct your views. 2. We had a terrific waiter but he did not tell us his name and we did not ask. 3. Their menu is "big" meaning that had over 50 items on their menu and lots of alcohol combinations. We chose ginger tea and sparking water tonite. 4. We had the combo appetizer of guacamole and queso. The portions were so large we took some home. It was also delicious. 5. We both had combo plates to sample as much as we could. Taco, chicken enchiladas, beef enchiladas, black beans, Cole slaw, and really flavorful rice. Love all of it. This is very large restaurant with a large private area that opens onto the patio. We had dinner for early Mother's Day and even though they were ridiculously slammed, the service was absolutely amazing. We had a party of 5 which meant most tables wouldn't work and they still found a way to accommodate us. The manager Alejandro was so nice from the beginning and found a way to get us a table and the hostess Daniela (not me lol) actually had to jump in and become our waitress and she did an amazing job! We were so impressed with her not only covering the front along with Alejandro but also making sure our drinks stayed full and all our food was perfect, she never stopped checking on us. It's always so great when people go above and beyond and this was 100% the case here. The food and drinks were also delicious. Try the 5 leches cake! Consistently great, always a solid meal. My family and I visited on a low-key Thursday evening and were able to make a last minute reservation. We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation, and the hostess kindly welcomed us and seated us quickly. This Mesero location has a large patio that they utilize on warmer days, and today was no exception. They have sliding patio floor-to-ceiling doors where you can still enjoy the outside while still seated inside, and it was perfection. Naelli, who waited on us, was superbly fantastic. She was patient, yet helpful with recommendations on both drinks and foods, and accommodating with any special requests we had. Margaritas are solid (stick with the classic, others can be a little on the sweeter side). Guacamole is also decent, but the salsas really add extra flavors to the mix. Shrimp Ceviche is fantastic, served as a more of a block of food mixed with avocado and various vegetables. The cocido (stew) with chicken and green sauce, called the Pollo "Mateo," was full of flavor and truly mouthwatering, I'd wish I'd gotten two. And a tres leches cake to finish it off ? I read that this place was the best for Saturday brunch - for outdoor seating... it definitely is. I'll be coming back here with my girlfriends no doubt. The view is amazing. You have a brunch menu as well as the regular menu and catered to all the different tastes that we had in our bunch. One ordered from the brunch menu, two from the lunch menu. The thing to get - shrimp avocado appetizer!! I mean it was so fresh! I ordered the chilaquiles as per the waiter's rec and it was amazing. Huge portions so I needed to bring 1/2 my plate home. I made a reservation for 7:15 to celebrate two friends' birthdays. As we were sharing an appetizer and getting ready to order dinner, our waiter wanted to make sure we knew the kitchen closed at 9:30. No less than 6 different times he tried to clear our table of all food. We were eating dinner and he asked if we wanted to take our food to go. I asked to speak with him privately so as not to embarrass him and reminded him we were celebrating two birthdays as noted in the reservations and he took my request for the complimentary birthday dessert and I mentioned that we felt very rushed. He brought dessert, took one friends' drink without asking if she was finished (she was not). I asked another waiter to speak with the manager. That waiter must have told our waiter as he came over to apologize and then asked if we still wanted to speak with the manager. The manager came over and we explained how rude our waiter was unaware of reading the table, rudely clearing dishes as we were eating, asking us if we wanted our food to go, etc. Sadly, the manager wasn't much better. He apologized but that was it. Ih and I was charged for the complimentary birthday dessert. Horrible service!!!!! And I am a regular at the mesero in Inwood Village do I am a fan of Mesero. My friend wanted to take me for a late birthday brunch and we wanted to be on an outdoor patio in Addison, Mesero immediately came to mind. It was a beautiful day with perfect temperatures and the patio was perfection. Looking at the front of the restaurant you would not envision it has such a beautiful patio but it sits right on a golf course and is just a beautiful Serene setting. I love the modern Decor of the restaurant. The glass plates on the accent wall are fabulous, all the touches they have throughout are well thought out and classy and elegant. Simply a beautiful restaurant! Our server was friendly and very attentive and had some excellent recommendations on the menu. I love the chips that they serve, perfect crispiness and served with three salsas, the Orange is my favorite. I ordered the Mesero scramble, my friend ordered the chicken enchiladas and her son ordered salmon tacos. The Mesero scramble I ordered with chorizo, it came with potatoes and black beans and was absolutely delicious! My friend's chicken enchiladas were hands down probably some of the best I've ever had. It was topped with queso and a drizzle of cilantro awesomeness. I couldn't believe how delicious it was. My friends son devoured the salmon tacos and said he would definitely order them again. I have been here a couple times. The service is very friendly and this is a great place for an intimate setting or a larger group meet which I was a part of both times. There are several pros and cons of coming to this restaurant. Our experience We were brought to a rounded table only to be asked to return to the dining room because this table was reserved for some others and our table wasn't ready. At this point I should have realized our table of 10 was going to have an interesting time. A server dropped some salsa on the ground and it splashed all over two people in our party. Just some apologies from staff. A dirty glass was given to one of our guests and they tried to wipe it and return it to us. It took about 45 min for them to be ready to take our order. The pros The view of the golf course and green belt is amazing. The overlook is gorgeous and perfect. Their chips and salsa are great. Appetizers are decent. The cons The food itself did not have much flavor and the portions were surprisingly small. A handful of beans in a small container was a side, along with a scoop of rice. My mole didn't have a deep flavor. I tried some ceviche and it basically tasted like shrimp and avocados. That's tasty except it didn't really seem like ceviche at all. It was a generous portion shaped like a loaf of butter. Another person on my table had enchiladas that was basically a dried hard block of cheese. It took forever to get our check. Don't expect a quick meal. The service was good in that we had our water filled and chips and salsa brought quickly. However, placing an order took forever and the food took a while to come out. So, it's possible that the kitchen take a while. At the same time the splash of salsa and the dirty glass left much to be desired. read more
