I've visited the Frisco location before and had a decent experience, so while in Addison/Dallas for lunch we decided to try this spot. We ordered two Kids Dillas with cheese and fries, chips and queso, the Lester (recommended by the cashier), a brisket taco, and a chorizo breakfast taco. The kids enjoyed their dillas, the queso was excellent, and the chips were just okay. All the tacos were really good--next time, I'll stick to two since three was hard to finish. The main downside was the kids' fries: they were soft and oily without any crunch, which was disappointing. Otherwise, a very solid lunch option. read more

Very nice decor with all the LP album covers scattered throughout the restaurant. Very clean design with low maintenance. You order at the counter and food is brought to you. Napkins and utensils, and drinks or self-serve as well as the salsa bar. I would recommend that you get the salsa that is of the spicier kind, though it's not super spicy. I ordered all the vegetarian type tacos and none of them disappointed. I would highly recommend this to anyone. I topped it off with vanilla ice cream and churros. Two cups of ice cream is the perfect ratio for one churro, which comes with a canela/caramel center (be careful of the goo!). Very impressed. read more

I was in the area and tried Taco Joint for the first time last week. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I got the Tex- Mex Cesar with jalapeños ranch dressing. The salad is pretty big and it has juicy chicken pieces, deep fried jalapeños and avocado slices; along with the traditional croutons and Parmesan cheese. I loved this elevated Cesar salad and I will definitely visit Taco Joint to try more menu items. read more

Some sides were good but the main event was a letdown. The chips are nice and thin and are a generous serving with good queso. The rice and beans are decent. My brisket taco was dry and weirdly sweet and comes with lettuce, tomato and avocado. My under-seasoned grilled fish taco was tasteless and was buried in lettuce. And the red and green sauces didn't help. Overall a big disappointment in the flavor department so we are one and done. read more

Place is a joke when it comes to service. One person taking orders and handing out food so if the line is 10 people long at register you have to wait until all the people have ordered while your food just gets cold on the counter. Guess it is too difficult for someone to come out of the back and get the orders out. The place is so dirty all time; tables floors, counters just disgusting. Rusty taco is very close and the experience is 100 times better. Or better yet, nextdoor is a barbecue place that has way better brisket tacos and other similar choices plus more and the atmosphere is way better. Also, orders are wrong 50% of the time but not worth the wait to recook. I guess if you go to the school across the street this is close and probably why it does so much business. read more

Taco joint, Preston and Beltline on the Richardson Addison border... I love this place sooooo much! All locations are consistently awesome but I was so excited when I found out that they opened a Taco Joint on Preston by my house! I've been going to Taco joint for years and I actually used to drive once a week to the one in Lake Highlands just to get breakfast burritos for the week (or to share with friends at Sundays at the park). It's a great deal and much better than frozen breakfast burritos.  I just get a bag of 6 and eat one every day Monday through Saturday. Everything I've tried on their menu is really good but the secret is to get plenty of the spicy jalapeño ranch at the salsa station,  and if you are like me and like heat,  be sure to ask for the behind the counter sauce called XXX. It will cure your allergies! Also... they are super fast, super friendly,  and it is a fun atmosphere. They are right by bank of America, Tom thumb,  and across the street from Trader Joe's, a gas station,  and a pet store so once you get your breakfast burritos, enchiladas, or tacos you can run all your errands fast in one spot. 10 stars! Really good! I had the sausage breakfast tacos, stuffed!!! Nothing to complain about whatsoever. I will say. I wanted brisket tacos however thankfully they advised me their brisket is sweet?? And it is they were super cool and gave me a sample but unfortunately to me sweet meat should not be used on a breakfast taco and probably not on any taco but that's just me. I was also really excited about the sale Roja! But unfortunately it was more sweet than hot ?! Which to me is so wrong lol oh well. I still enjoyed it and everyone was super nice! But I'll avoid the brisket and use my own salsa. read more

Subpar food - served cold on my last three visits - pretty rude and short service - and irritating food delivery from the counter. This location is doing the fabulous Taco Joint name wrong. I have been a repeat customer to TJ for years and they never have disappointed me. The food is alway fresh and the quantity and quality of portions are amazing. The customers service is top notch. Went here for lunch with some co-workers one weekday. The location is nice but there is audible construction you can hear next door. When you enter, you go down the right side line and order then wait for your order to be called available to pickup at the counter. I got 3 different tacos to try a variety of their offerings. I got The Lester $3.49 which was basically a double decker taco, 1 Crispy Taco $2.79 and 1 Shrimp Fajita Taco $3.49 with $0.99 upcharge for shrimp. The beef in the tacos is good enough and the crispy shell regular taco is nice cause it seems hand made. The shrimp was the best part even though there is an upcharge for it. The shrimp was juicy, plump and temperature hot. They all come with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. I did not get queso but was able t try some and it was good. It was creamy with a subtle little spiciness to it. All of the tacos tasted good enough with the shrimp fajita taco being my favorite but for the price the value just isn't there for me. New location next to Rodeo Goat. I have eaten at other Taco Joint locations. This one was sub par. Tacos were small with not inch meet in them. Brisket Taco had very little meat in it. Chicken fajita taco was just bad. Chips were very good and the queso was ok. Small portion though. Will not be back to this location. read more

This place looks fun and has some fun nostalgic photos. It's bright and welcoming. The guy that was at the counter was very nice and helpful. I really wish the food was better. It was just ok. We had queso (which was the best of what we had. Not my favorite but it was good), i ordered a bacon and egg taco. I didn't realize all the tacos come with cheese, so if you don't want cheese you will need to say no cheese. The tortillas looked, smelled and tasted store bought. They have better tasting tortillas at the store. The coffee was ok. A little too strong for me. The brisket taco had a sweetness to it. That was the only flavor we could pick up and it was a little dry. It was ok. My potato, bacon and egg would have been really good but the tortilla took away from it. The bacon also was hard in places like it had been sitting under a heat lamp to long or microwaved. I liked the potatoes a lot. They were small cubes salted or seasoned nicely.
