The ambiance is cozy, not too bright, but just the right amount of light. I travel about an hour just to eat here. If that doesn't tell you how much I love this restaurant, I don't know what will. My favorite dish is the Matamoros plate but I can barely finish it because I usually fill up on my other favorite, which is the chips and salsa.

I really liked the migas, though. It was made with fresh jalapeño and had just the right amount of heat without needing any salsa. So I think this is one of those places that does some things very well... enough to build up a solid base of regulars, even though some of their other offerings were disappointing, like improperly reheated enchiladas. But if you know what to order, you can really enjoy this place. Oddly enough, they have chorizo on the menu, but don't list it among the available proteins on the breakfast taco menu, which I personally find very strange. Chorizo and egg is such an iconic breakfast taco offering. I'll bet they'd do it justice.
