My daughter wanted to eat at Chuy's one day for lunch. Initially I did not want to go, as I thought it would be no different an experience than any of the other local Mexican restaurants I've been to, which serve bland and uninspiring food. I was delightfully surprised. The food was by no means the typical fair that's passes for Mexican in this area. The food was presented and play dead in a pleasing manner, and the food tasted fantastic. I made it actually had taste to it, the spices and flavorings were present in the dishes that I ordered. Our waiter was great, which was a bonus. He was attentive in a very unobtrusive way. I will definitely be going back to eat again at Chuy's. read more

I've only been once and even that was too much. To start, I don't like the decor. Not my style, but looking passed that, my experience gave me no reason to return. It was dinner for two, but you would have thought we walked in with a bus load of people. The hostess had no clue where to seat us despite several open seats. She lead us around to several tables before deciding to seat us in the center of the floor. Our waiter appeared to be stoned. No joke. Pin point pupils, glassy eyes, slurred speech, and appeared he could barely stand. The salsa looked horrible and taste was there to match. I'm not sure how you can make food so bland when you pile so many things of flavor on it, but they managed. Love the Baja tacos. Great with either the fish or shrimp. Tortillas made on a griddle at the far end of the room-Tortilla chips fresh from the fryer served in a big scoop-the friendliest service! Picked up some take out tonight with my friend shelby. The Togo girl was friendly and the food came with free chips and salsa even Togo! So in my book that's a plus! The outside looked fun and the drink deals during the week sounded amazing. Might need to go in on a Wednesday and try any size draft beer for a dollar after work one day. The food is good if overpriced. The service is always great. It does tend to be kind of loud and crowded, but that's because it's good. The bar is shaped oddly which makes it uncomfortable and difficult to dine at the bar. If that is intentional then just don't make it an option but don't punish me for it! read more

Not a bad place to get a quick meal. Not a huge fan of Mexican style food so I always get the same thing there, burrito with cheese. It's fair prices and close off of the interstate. I think that the tables are crammed in a little to right for my liking. The staff is hit or miss it seems though. Either they are super nice or just your run of the mill waiters. read more

I went there on Friday night for the first time, and I have to say wow it was fantastic!! My wife and I eat out often, and Mexican/ Tex-Mex is one or our favorite styles. We usaually eat at a local family run Mexican restaurant that we think is pretty good, however I believe Chuys has replaced them for good. Our server was great, the food was amazing. I ordered the steak burrito and it was the best one I've ever had. They make the burittos, and fajita shells fresh to order, and you can really tell the difference. My wife and daughter shared a chicken fajita, and still had some leftover. Our server then suggested the Tres Leche cake ( telling us it was the best cake other than his mothers) I nust say it was fantastic. All in all I cant recommend this restaurant any stronger, and I can't wait to go back read more

Chuy's is one of my favorite restaurants. They have a slightly different spin on Mexican food and I am a big fan. I love their salsa and creamy jalapeno sauce. I always get the Elvis Presley special, and it is a lot of food, but never disappoints. They have great food at a fair price (with the exception of the drinks which are overpriced). Good garden salsa and creamy jalapeño dip: could make a meal on those two alone. Burritos are ok and what I usually get though the fajitas are also nice. The reason I don't rate this higher is I just don't get the crave for this place. You know what I mean? Some Mexican restaurants have a certain voodoo that sticks in your head and pulls you back like a homing device. Not a fan. Two stars only because their tortillas are good, but every other food I've had there was terrible. The guacamole was a joke, they filled the bowl full of lettuce to make it look like there was guacamole when in fact there was about a tablespoon. Excellent! Food: The chips and salsa are fantastic. The chips are SUPER thin, which is really nice. The salsa couldn't be any fresher if I chewed the whole ingredients myself. I always order the same thing, Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom!. Super spicy. They have 2 versions of their rice for each dish, you can pick from the standard mexican rice or a nice green chile rice. If you like spice, for the green chile, full of flavor. Staff: Every time my family and I go, we are treated well and with respect. The staff is clean and orderly. Environment: Fun and inviting. There are lots of fun things on the walls. Half a car in one spot and ceiling covered in hub caps in another. Some of the rooms have the walls covered wtih fun children's birthday table covers of super heroes. My son is 5 and loves this place as you might imagine. The restaurant is CLEAN and well kept. It may be a bit confusing to a new comer as there are so many things to look at it. It can look cluttered to a orderly type person, but it's fun if you relax. The outdoor dining area is also very well kept and clean. I believe they have heaters out there when the weather's a bit chilly. I don't believe you can smoke inside, but I believe it's allowed outside. Summary: Fun Tex-Mex! The peppermints they have as you exit are the good kind, not the cheap tasting ones. Has gone so far down hill it's not even funny. We went this weekend and the place was about deserted. We decided to sit in the bar only to find out that there were no available tables. Well, they were available it's just that 6 of them were filled with dirty plates. (Probably should have just sat in the deserted dining room). We asked the 4, yes count them, 4 people standing and talking at the greeters station if they could get one cleaned off. One said they would, and went off on a lengthy journey to the back to find someone else to do it. Sadly, they didn't clean everything off, they left the previous patrons credit card receipt (in the little tray thing), and sat us. It took forever for anyone to come to the table and bring menus and take drink orders, so we just went ahead and ordered what we remembered from last time without looking (since we didn't know when or if they would be back). The waitress dropped off our drinks and disappeared. Someone from the back brought our food out (mine was wrong). So he took it back and fixed the mistake (I have to say he was very pleasant). Maybe I'm weird, but when we came in there were two ladies in the booth behind us, and a guy had a chair pulled up to the booth (he had it turned backwards, and I was wondering why he wasn't just sitting with them, and it just seemed weird). After our food arrived he finally got up from chatting with the ladies and I had my answer. He was a manager. All those dirty tables, he had to have heard my order was wrong, and did nothing. Never even spoke to us. By the way, the other tables remained dirty for our stay. The waitress didn't come back until it was time to pay our bill. We had to go to the bartender to get refills (we weren't drinking, just soft drinks). Food was very greasy, as it was the last time we went. We have been to Chuy's in other cities and I know the deal is 'freshness', but not here. Admittedly, it was better when they first opened. But since then it's been one long slide, which is obvious from the empty parking lot when you drive by. Won't be back. read more

Let me start by saying I go to Chuy's on Saturdays or Sundays to get the Macho burrito with the pulled pork in it. In my opinion it is the best they have to offer. I typically go to the Chuy's in Louisville Kentucky and the service and the food is always exceptional. This review was for the veteran Parkway location in Indiana. Unfortunately this location seems to be much more unorganized than others. For example upon arriving and asking for a table for three we were asked to sit. I Watch as dining rooms had probably 4 to 5 tables empty and clean. The young girl was programming the waiting list buzzers while we set. 10 minutes later she got up , got menus and took it directly to one of those Empty Tables I mentioned before. We were there when it was not very busy. We hardly got any refills, chips seem like they were hard to come by there and overall I was kind of disappointed in the food. Okay so we ordered came out lukewarm at best. I don't mind waiting but I do expect to get decent quality service. read more

Tried this place again today for the first time in a while. The service and food were excellent. The green chili menu made the trip worth while. The creamy jalapeño sauce is great. We have been frequent patrons since Chuys opened in Clarksville, IN. It seems the service in the Clarksville IN store has declined greatly. This evening at 6:00 pm, we ordered the daily special. In about 10 minutes the manager told me they were out of the daily special. I said ok and waited another 5 minutes for our waitress to re-take our order. We asked that she put a rush on it. After being seated we waited until 6:40 still no dinner . At this point we decided to leave. I find the Louisville KY restaurant to consistently get all things right. I hate to give a bad review but something needs to change in this Clarksville IN restaurant. After getting poor service several times we will just go to the Louisville restaurant from now on. read more

One of our favorite spots! Food is amazing! Some of our favorites is the steak burrito, Elvis chicken, any of the chimis and the enchilada/ chile relleno combo. The appetizer ponchos with the fajita steak are yummy too! When they serve your chips and salsa, be sure to ask for some creamy jalapeño dip (free of charge). You will have to come back for more. Homemade tortillas and all of their special toppings are free of charge. On Fridays they have floaters (extra shot for your drinks) for just $1. Definitely 5 stars!
