The chimichanga dinner chips with salsa and queso and the Mexican corn and a Mexican Coca-Cola awful less than $30

I'm from another state getting a new life started here and treated myself to THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD I've ever had. I don't understand why they're not slammed. They were so very very kind and the food was more than I've ever gotten for the money and TASTED AMAZING PLUS MEXICAN COLA WOW what a difference I think that anyone loves soda as much as I do should try this it's amazing the food is great I recommend it 10 times over you've got to try it

Extremely tasty. Chicken was cut perfectly for the dish. Salsa and margarita were also great.

My food! Tacos de carné! Yum!

It doesn't look all that impressive when you drive into the lot, but don't let that deter you from enjoying a good Mexican dining experience. There is inside and patio seating and the property is clean and well organized. I had the tacos de carné and they were very good as was the rice and beans. The service was very good and he even had patience as I worked through my order and questions in Spanish. The chips and salsa were nearly the standard fare, but I received both mild and hot salsas to enjoy with my chips. I mixed them evenly for a heat level to my tastes. My glass was never completely empty and I always appreciate that level of attention. This is a moderately priced Mexican place with everything you would expect. Give them a try!

    Impressed by their table salsa.

It immediately reminded me of what I call "American-Mexican" food. It's as if there is a playbook that restauranteurs review as they are deciding to open a restaurant and these guys played it safe. So if you're used to Chevy's or another familiar chain, you'll be right at home. Now, the reason for the review. I don't like to sugar coat things, especially when it comes to food. In my opinion, the carnitas burrito is a hidden gem. It's packed with seasoned pork with just the right amount of crispiness. Frankly I'm partial to al pastor when offered, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to have this burrito that came with their white queso. A coworker recommended the queso, but nothing in particular to put it on. I'm pretty sure he just drinks it. Also, they have one of my favorite salsas just hanging out at the table as ketchup would in a hamburger joint. The only real disappointment was the "extra" plate of refried beans and rice. Just didn't need it as not only did the burrito fill me up, it really stands alone and doesn't need any help from his friends beans or rice.

I frequent several of the El nopal establishments in the area. They are all pretty much the same setup inside with bright colors and fiesta like decor. All there menus are the same. They all do free chips and salsa which is always a plus. The chips and salsa at the el nopal chains probably are my favorite ones of any of the other Mexican establishments I have visited. Very good flavor and even the hot isn't too hot to where you can't taste the food. I always get the enchiladas supreme with all 5 being cheese enchiladas and just the cheese and red sauce on top. All locations are hit and miss if they get this correct when I order it. But it is to be expected with me having such a picky order and a language barrier. But they have always corrected it quickly and with courtesy when not correct. You pay up front at all locations and as mentioned above the service is always fast and courteous. If you like chain restaurants and Mexican restaurants. El nopal is the place to go.

Me and some friends came here to celebrate a friends birthday. This was my first time eating here. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas. For only $12 you get plenty of food. I had to get a box to go and I will probably be eating from it for the next couple of days. Our waiter was very nice, but not very attentive at the beginning. We had to ask for a menu after at least 10 minutes of sitting and talking. My cup was empty for a long time, I had to finally ask for a refill. Other than that, everything was good and they are very nice and the food is great for a good price.

Love coming to El Nopal! Service is always fast and friendly. Chips are served hot and always fresh. Salsa is just okay but the white queso is delicious! I have only ordered the steak burrito from here for lunch. It comes with rice and refried beans and smothered in the white queso. They always have a nice selection of fresh lunch specials posted on a board right when you enter. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys fresh Mexican with great service! I would love to try the margaritas as well. They look great.

I had been wanting to go for quite some time to try the Birria because I heard it is so amazing, and it really lived up to the Hype! Oh, did I mention they have the viral soft serve margaritas!?!?! I got the strawberry, it was so pretty, excellent presentation and absolutely delicious! I will say it was more like a dessert to me and I would have preferred to have it after my meal instead if before but that's just me. We got there between 6:30 and 7:00 and it was really busy, luckily our friends got there first and grabbed a table. They had already had a round of drinks while waiting on us but it took a while for anyone to come over to greet us or refill their drinks but again it was busy and everyone was helping everyone. We ended up splitting the birria platter and still had plenty of food to take home which we just ate last night as leftovers and were still absolutely fire!! I think the egg roll and quesadillas were my favorite over the tacos bc I love the melty cheese. I also ordered a small side of queso which was surprisingly a little spicy which I really enjoyed. They even surprised us when my BIL ordered a small margarita and it came out in a fish glass (see photo). It was so unexpected but also so cute at the same time ... it's really the little things like this that bring joy, okay? LOL This place was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to try it again.

We were leaving for the second leg of our trip and were running late, as usual. We decided to run across the street for a sit down lunch, what's another hour? Two smiling faces greeted us at the door. They offered a high top but my hip was absolutely not digging it nor a table up the flight of steep stairs. Once seated, we were greeted promptly and had water in front of us almost immediately. We each ordered soup and then a sandwich to share. I had the Sopa de Pollo . A hot bowl thick with thin noodles and lots of chunks of chicken. The chunks were too big to eat without being cut up which was a challenge in a bowl of broth. It was so hot that I had to wait a while to try it and even then had to blow on it. It was delicious. Unless the soup is your meal, order a cup. I still took nearly a pint of soup back with me. My husband ordered the Frijole Negro - a huge bowl of black beans that was served with a large pile of raw onions on top. Like the chicken soup, it was burn your mouth hot and a very large serving. He said it was good but he'd not order it again. Moving on to the sandwich. We had the Cubano. I'm not even going to describe it - just trust me - order the Cubano. Do not look at the rest of the menu - order the Cubano. Don't even bother looking at the ingredients, just order the Cubano. Have you ordered it yet? Do it already. The Cubano is huge. We split one half and had the other when we arrived at our next stop. Do consider that we had soup first; otherwise, we'd have eaten the whole thing. The accompanying plantain chips were worthy of their own review. They were wonderful. Who knows if and when we'll be back to Louisville but when we are, La Bodeguita will be the first place we stop. BTW, have you ordered the Cubano yet? What are you waiting for? Put your phone done and order it! Enjoy!!
