Taco Tuesdays can get crowded very quickly, so I definitely recommend making reservations, especially for parties of four or more. Indoor seating fills up fast, and you may be left with outdoor seating. During hot weather, the patio can feel quite humid, and the outdoor chairs can become uncomfortable after sitting for a while. Service is decent and about what you'd expect when the restaurant is busy. Overall, we enjoy coming here with friends for the food, happy hour, and lively atmosphere.

And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.

Chuy's Cocina in Montclair is one of my go-to spots when I'm craving tacos. Their asada tacos are always flavorful, with well-seasoned meat and fresh toppings. We were dining with a special-needs family member who does not eat the restaurant's food, so we brought him food from outside. Instead, an older lady approached us in a way that felt unnecessarily rude. It wasn't what was said--it was the manner in which it was said. We made sure to clean up after ourselves and even took all of the outside food packaging and trash with us instead of leaving it at the restaurant. We completely understand that rules exist, but a little kindness and understanding go a long way, especially when a family is trying to accommodate a loved one with special needs. We hope this feedback helps improve the customer service because the food truly is excellent, and we'd hate for an experience like this to overshadow an otherwise great restaurant.
