We normally always have a great experience at this place. Awesome food, great service, and wait staff is always great. Though, this last visit was out of the ordinary for them! My friend and I came in and ordered the burrito (which is a favorite) and enchiladas. They originally came out with two burritos, which would've been eaten, though that's not what I ordered. Not sure what the issue was but they exclaimed it'd be out shortly. We waited a good chunk of time for my meal, though it was taken off the ticket and they were fresh!! If you're looking for an above average Tex-Mex chain, Chuys is a great choice. I like their chicken fajitas and the guacamole tacos. The creamy jalapeño ranch dip goes perfectly with their chips. Generally I really love the Tres Leches cake, although a couple of times it was too dry. My favorite thing at Chuys are the margaritas. Many options and all are delicious. read more

Tuesdays are my new favorite day. The special tonight was chicken and spinach enchiladas, and they were the bomb. The staff was dealing with a HUGE party of like 23 college students (all requested separate checks- poor waiters!), and we still had the best service. Our waitress tonight was Brie, and she was super cool. She gave helpful recommendations, kept our drinks full, and answered all of our questions. My favorite thing about Chuy's is honestly the consistency of the food and service. I have never had a bad experience, and I will keep coming back! Thanks Chuy's for an awesome Tuesday night! Basically just look at my review from two years ago. Ate same things. All great. Also had queso. Chip and Queso very good! Great service. Place clean, but skimpy on napkins. Prices reasonable for quantity. Even the most mild sauces are a little spicy. That doesn't bother a lot of people, but it may some. Chuy's always has great food. And seems to have great wait staff. I was asked for dinner with my long time friend in Lubbock. This location is surrounded by other restaurants. It was also very busy. Unfortunately that is not excuse for not taking care of your customers. 1) not enough silverware after food arrived 2) not all food arrived and had to be asked for 3) took 45 min for food to arrive we literally ate 2 baskets of chips and drank 2 glasses of water waiting on our food. One of the top restaurants we visit in Lubbock. Similar to most Chuy's it has a great vibe, and the food was good. I'll continue coming here. I get the "chicken stuffed sopapilla." Delicious. First off, be sure to ask for the Creamy Jalapeno Sauce with your chips. Its not too hot and tastes great. It's on the menu, but I think most people never know that it is an option. I saw a Beef Fajita Salad being delivered before I ordered and that thing looked amazing... the shell was as big as my face and there was a lot of meat on it. I had my heart set on the Chuy's Special and I was happy with the decision. The Chuy's Special is 'an authentic New Mexican recipe. Homemade blue corn tortillas stacked with freshly-roasted, hand pulled chicken, cheese & tomatillo sauce.' This thing was good, the green chile sauce on top was a good addition because the chicken did not seem to have much favor (on its own). When you combined the corn tortilla, chicken, and sauce in a bite it went from a decent meal to a tasty treat. The service was attentive but unfortunately he had a very large table adjacent to us and so we had a wait a bit. The server did a good job balancing our little table with the needs of the big-top but asking for refills and napkins gets old. As you would expect from a new restaurant in Lubbock, the parking is pretty hectic. There are plenty of spaces but they fill fast. I would definitely suggest just grabbing a spot just off the loop and walk the parking lot to the restaurant. You'll save eight minutes of trolling for a spot and in margarita time, that's huge! read more

Ate there for the first time a couple days ago and was very pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be going back. The place was pretty crowded and fairly long wait for table, but that's to be expected when you show up on the weekend with a group of 8 and you didn't call ahead of time. Once we were seated, however, service was very prompt, mostly accurate, and very attentive and apologetic when they recognized they'd made the minor mistake of serving an entree with an item someone in our group hadn't wanted. The chips were warm and fresh and refilled frequently, as well as our drinks and our salsa, which had a lot of flavor and was really fresh. Plenty of good quality food and not too overpriced, although a couple of us thought the chicken in the enchiladas was a little bland and overcooked/rubbery, but nothing drastic. Hopefully they'll get all of the kinks worked out by the time we go back! Happy hour and Chuy's specialities are some of my favorites! You know what to expect every time from this eclectic Mexican chain. Chuy's has an awesome happy hour, and I think everyone knows it. M-F, 4-7pm, they'll do a queso bar with chips, salsa, queso, beans, and meat for free, plus a lot of their drinks are discounted. I know happy hour definitely entices me to get a drink and come back regularly, but also means I'll split something. I wouldn't recommend trying to bring in a big party during happy hour, especially on Friday, because you may not get seated in enough time to take advantage of the queso party. Favorite dishes include the Fajita Beef Big-As-Yo-Face burrito with Boom Boom sauce, the Tortilla soup, and anything during the Hatch Green Chile Fest (every fall). Your server will probably have a delicious combo that you could add to anything, too! For example, add a fried egg on your next enchilada for a truly divine TexMex creation. Service at this location is hit or miss, as most waiters and waitresses seem rushed when bringing things, checking on the table, etc. Overall it's pretty average service - nothing too exceptional! read more

Staff never answers phone calls and after transferring me 3 times I finally got someone to answer but they did not tell me an estimated time or get my name. Love this restaurant. As a vegetarian, sometimes I struggle to find options that I truly enjoy, but our waitress recommended the Vegetarian Combo to me and it was fantastic. Even though we were there at happy hour there is no excuse. The tortilla's were so dry they cracked and fell apart while making fajita roll up . The fajita's made it to the table before my first drink made it. Several times drinks and condiments were forgotten and we had to ask twice . We have visited several Chuy's - Austin , Dallas, Houston , Lubbock. During happy hour I don't get why they cannot keep the chip bar stocked. Apparently there's only ONE person taking to go orders at this place and after waiting 10 minutes I gave up.
