Said yes, asked if we wanted to wait for net order more medium, said yes. Came out quick. OVERCOOKED and chewy meat. Seasoned well and good taste but I can make better fajitas at home. Waitress was a huge bitch after I asked about the doneness of the meat. Dropped off my drink and didn't even talk to me or ask me anything when she returned with it. Sorry I get pissed paying $30 for fajitas for 2 on top of queso, margs, Etc. pretty sure she saw me writing this and was super nice in last encounter. Just picked up Blackberry Margaritas that are the best I have ever had. I want to fill my freezer with these since they are only available during the month of March. The only downside is, you pay for 20 oz but only get 16 oz. I thought the cup looked small so I took it home and poured it in my measuring cup and it barely made it to 16 oz. So bottom line is $15 for a 16 oz heavenly margarita is a little steep but is an indulgence. read more

We did a curbside pick up today we had 4 entrees two large salsas 3 tres leches and a gallon of frozen margaritas . It was all delicious. It took a little longer than our pick up time but not much they were busy we weren't in a rush. But the gentleman who helped us was great at first we didn't have our margarita gallon and tres leches but he was quick to fix it and wasn't rude , so wanted to give a props to him for not getting mad for having to make a couple extra trips for him, I know it can be frustrating in busy times and he still had a great attitude which is why I am writing this review. I was surprised to have such a disappointing experience at Chuey's today at lunch. I ordered a taco salad for the first time. What I got was a salad in a shallow bowl with some ground beef in it. Taco salad's normally have a taco shell (must have), with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, cheese and taco seasoned meat. Mine had plain ground beef with very little seasoning, big clumps of lettuce, spinach, purple cabbage, carrots and sectioned off around that was chopped tomatoes, guacamole, and a small amount of cheese, with tortilla strips on top . You are then expected to mix these things together in this shallow bowl without spilling it all over the table. Not fun..... not tasty.... And definitely not worth $15. read more

Today we celebrated our friend's 83rd birthday. We showed up at 11:00, hoping to beat the rush and it seemed like nothing we did pleased the hostess. Her feelings are shown through glaring eyes and a curt "follow me and hurry up" attitude. We laughed it off because every single one of us was/is a middle school teacher and we figured we could out-glare her if needed! But then she did something so horrifying. One of our friends is a plus-sized woman who was seated on the aisle side of the table. Yes, her chair did stick out a bit more than the others, but it is a tight squeeze under the best of circumstances. This hostess came whizzing around the corner with menus, cutlery, and guests - and came to a cartoonish Roadrunner stop: silent, still, and just stared (glared) at the larger woman who was "in the way." Every one of our party of 9 was aware of it and all of us were uncomfortable. Having made her point that she was inconvenienced by this, the hostess shoved the table on the other side of the aisle against the wall and shoved all of the chairs with it. My friend said to our table, "I'm sorry, I guess I'm in the way." That should never be acceptable and I know Chuy's is better than this. The bright side of the lunch was Alex, our server. He was a delight: cheerful, helpful, fast, and able to juggle a larger table with skill and knowledge. He anticipated our needs before we asked for anything. He represents your company well! Alex deserves a 5 star rating but this rating is based on your hostess. read more

We ordered Door Dash scheduled ahead of time at 3pm for a 6 pm dinner.. We received the wrong order and it sent us over the top. Our son was at the hospital for 3 days with post Covid stuff and.the last thing we needed was a dinner we didnt order. Checked in on June 2, 2017. Went late for dinner. They had a 45 minute wait for the table. We decided to eat dinner somewhere else, but do a dessert take-out from Chuy's. We ordered Tres Les Cake and Flan to be shared. Tres Les Cake is huge - easily 3 people can share the dish. Flan is smaller in size. Both of them were excellent. As always the food was delicious! Same great atmosphere we always look forward to. Unfortunately our server Bree was probably THE WORST server we have ever had. She verbally huffed at us when after ordering drinks we asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. Our bar drinks arrived before our waters and sodas. She walked by our table and mumbled something that no one understood and then after we had cleaned some of our napkins and straw wrappers and put them in the empty chip basket she arrived with a scoop of chips to which she became visibly upset and stated she would just have bring us another basket After she took our order she was not seen again. No refills, table touch, or even a walk by. The manager finally walked by and we asked for the check and left. Hopefully she gets some training in food service and learns to speak clearly and intelligently. read more

Six check-ins here? I should probably do a review.... I've said before that the N. Lamar location is our fave location, as we can usually sit right down. Here, there always seems to be a wait, unless you're there on a weeknight after 8pm (like we just did Tuesday). Any time on a Sunday afternoon, the waits seem Franklinesque. And like at the Barton Springs location, the swarms of people during happy hour looking to pounce on a table in the "bar area" (where you can actually eat your whole meal, if you don't mind folks bumping you the whole time while scouting tables) are frightening. There is plenty on the menu that we aren't in love with. We just found a few things we REALLY like. We prefer the fajitas for one (plenty of food for two, and usually really really good, though sometimes the chicken just seems a bit... Sysco-frozenny), or the chicken enchiladas with the tomatillo sauce (extra tomatillo sauce on the side, plz). And we usually end up consuming an uncomfortable amount of chips (warm, light and crispy, usually... ask for some limes to squeeze onto them) and the creamy jalapeño. This ranch dressing is also good poured on your fajita tacos, your burritos, you can dip a shoe in it, whatever. And we never "save any room" for flan or tres leches, though we are asked. Every. Single. Time. Once seated, service is usually fairly fast (though sometimes drink orders take a bit of time). There is a nice covered patio for the right time of year, though the ambiance-du-interstate on the patio isn't the best. But this is just your local neighborhood eatery. And for to go orders, you can park at marked spots in the back of the building and they will bring it out to you when you call them to say you are there, unlike at Lamar where you have to walk in and awkwardly make eye contact with the right person to try and pick up your order. I'll rate this location slightly lower than Lamar just due to being usually so hectic, and because doing so will make my friend, Madi F., say that I am missing part of my frontal lobe. 3.3333333 stars. I finally tried Chuy's! I have heard about this place from everyone and had it on my list to try out. I'm happy to have tried it, and here's my review to prove it! The rundown of the food: -Overall, the food was ok. I didn't find it to be super exciting or something to dream about later, but it was ok. I found it to be good Tex-Mex, but not the best I have ever had. I would go back, if in the area. -We sampled a variety of food. The highlights were the Boom Boom sauce and the Creamy Jalapeño sauce. These two sauces made the chips grateful vessels of sauce transportation. They also spiced up our entrees and made them better, in my opinion. -The beef and chicken fajitas were ok. They tasted like regular fajitas from any Tex-Mex place. Nothing to write home about. -The chicken taquitos were tasty, but again nothing special. They definitely needed more filling too. Most of the bites were just fried tortilla. If there was was fun stuff inside, these things have the potential to become a Tex-Mex addicts dream come true. -The refried beans were oh so bland. They tasted like they were just out of a can. Blah! -The fried rice was ok. They used different flavors than the regular Mexican rice you find at most Tex-Mex places. They had a red and a green style of rice. Both were tasty. -The kid's menu had a pretty good variety for your picky eaters. We had chicken nuggets and quesadillas at our table. Both were yummy and kid approved. -The French Fries here are really good! They come on the kid menu as side dishes. I stole several of my kid's fries and dipped them in the Boom Boom sauce. Now if the Chuy's Gods are listening, make that a dish on the menu. Fries smothered in Boom Boom sauce would be FANTABULOUS!!!! Just saying.... -Skip the sopapillas! They were a real disappointment. They were mostly just fried dough with no flavor. Blah, blah, blah! The rundown on the restaurant: -Very fun atmosphere, though a bit claustrophobic in some areas. Every inch of available wall space is covered with pictures or random items. Some of the areas I felt like I was on an episode of Hoarders. My kiddo loved looking at everything though, which kept her entertained for a while, so that was nice. -This place is BUSY! I went with a friend of mine and she said it's always crazy busy, so be prepared to wait. We waited 15 minutes for a table, which is a short wait compared to normal. Keep this in mind, if you come here. -Pretty good service! Everyone was nice that we encountered. Our server was good at his job as well. Not extremely outgoing, but good at his job. -Very reasonable prices! This is always a nice thing these days! Overall, Chuy's is good Tex-Mex and you will most likely enjoy the place. read more

A Round Rock version of an Austin institution. This Chuy's has some of the same vibe as the original, but with a bit less funky, and a bit more kitschy. It's clean and cheerful. I like it. The service is awesome, in a relaxed, fun way. They will make you feel right at home. The food is good, especially if you like queso, which you can get on everything. There are places you can get better Tex-Mex food, but for the combination of good times and tasty eats, Chuy's is hard to beat. read more

We've been eating at Chuy's in RR since 2001, and it is our go-to place for consistently great food and service. We always seek to try new places and different types of food, but why try hard when passing up Chuy's is such a hard thing to do. Our favorites include the Southwestern, stacked blue tortilla enchiladas with a glorious fried egg on top and the Mexi-Cobb Salad, the salad unto all salads with a cilantro lime vinaigrette that perfectly complements the bounty of fajita beef, chicken, vegetables, cheese, and mixed greens. I was in town for a school event so I showed up with 20 students. Fortunately although they said it would be a 30 minute wait we actually were seated before that. He gave me option of splitting up the groups so that probably helped no doubt. My yelp showed me current place in line which was cool. Anyways since it was unbearably cold 34! We ate inside and I decided to get a hot stew and after reading reviews made me realize that was a good choice since I like spicy foods. The salsa was on point chunky and spicy. My friends fajitas though didnt look so appetizing and he didnt even touch his salad. One of my students said the rice was clumpy and it was! So ew points off for that. Plus the place was really loud this causing me a huge headache. If I wasnt driving and it wasnt so cold and I wasnt suffering fg lu like symptoms...I would have grabbed a drink and they looked good. read more

I love this place, especially the Round Rock location, because they have my dessert-margarita pie, which I was disappointed to learn on a recent trip to the 183 location that they do not serve it there. Basically it is a key lime pie, but the crust.... coconut, almonds, and buttery goodness... For all the locations, I love their creamy jalapeno sauce, as well as anything with chicken. It is so moist and flavorful. The chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas are the best, and the chicken tostada is a close second. Not to mention the big ass bean burrito with the deluxe tomatillo sauce. There are some enchiladas I like as well, I think they are called Southwestern, they are stacked, with green chile sauce, chicken, and cheese. I am getting hungry just typing this! And if you go for happy hour they have a free nacho cart while you wait... mmmmm... I want a margarita now (try The Dot).... and to think, I live right around the corner... And Chuy's, being an oversized chain restaurant, just can't compete with all the small business owned and operated Texans out there bringing that taco heat.... We started regularly going to Chuy's on the Richmond Strip in Houston back when that was still a cool place to be. (Yes, I may be that old - I can not confirm such a thing.....) Of course that has long since become a questionable area and that particular store has long since closed. However joy of joys... many more Chuy's have opened since and not lost a bit of the original ceiling O'fish, velvety Elvis shrine, giant mariachi frog, wall O' hub caps, patio dining fun! The Round Rock Chuy's has very helpfully and cheerfully served both my vegetarian and allergy afflicted loved ones! These two things are extremely important and worth six stars for sure! Obviously only five are an option... :) Allergens - We called ahead and spoke with the shift manager prior to dining. We let her know exactly what allergens were the concerns and she cheerfully offered information and options. We asked to see her when we were seated - and she made sure that we were treated well and our allergy sufferers were very happy! Vegetarian - Try the 'vegetarian big as your face burrito' with ranchero sauce. WONDERFUL! (Yes you want the veggie mix- if they ask you.) The cheese stuffed chile rellenos with ranchero sauce is also a fantastic vegetarian option. We also love the special nachos. Regular menu favs include- the Chuychanga with delux tomatillo the Elvis Presley memorial combo - thank you very much! the Chuy's Special with tomatillo sauce Tried and true fans are we. Dining in for our oldest granddaughter's birthday celebration. It was great to see her smiling and so happy to be 18! It was a nice family dinner with all but one of her cousins and all of her aunts and uncles in attendance. With busy schedules that is a rarity ! I don't get to eat at Chuy's often at all as I am the only one in my immediate household that enjoys it. I'm really happy to say it was as good as I had remembered! Actually in all honesty it was better! I had a frozen margarita no salt on the rim and it was excellent. The chips and salsa are good but all the kids enjoyed the jalapeño cilantro ranch sauce better, so they used that to dip their chips in. I didn't partake of any chips, dips, or salsa as I had ordered a full meal and knew that would be plenty to eat! I ordered the Chili Relleno Meal with ground beef, Mexican rice, and Charro beans. It all arrived piping hot! There were two chilies that were filled with ground beef, had a Panko crumbs type coating and were deep-fried. Likely not the healthiest choice on the menu but they were delicious,with just the right amount of heat to keep it interesting. The Mexican rice was moist and flavorful and the Charro beans were very good, smoky, and again heat and flavor kissed! My granddaughter was serenaded with the happy birthday song, sung by the staff and any patrons that wanted to participate. A good time was had by all! So why not five stars? Only reason is the very limited number of appetizers. I'm sure they were probably good tasting but I was really wanting something stuffed with cheese and jalapeño and wrapped in bacon. Didn't matter to me what was stuffed-shrimp, chicken, jalapeño....whatever! Chuy's please consider adding something like that to the menu. I may gain 5 pounds every time I come here but it is so worth it. We came in around 5 before the US Women's World Cup expecting a large crowd but to my amazement, it wasn't bad at all. As soon as we sat down, we were given some fresh chips and salsa and this is where it goes down hill. From the time the chips were delivered to the time our food was brought to the table, I am pretty sure I ate one weeks worth of chips and salsa. When our meal came out, I wasn't even hungry. I ordered the weekend special (pork tacos) and they looked and smelled great. Sadly, I didn't get to eat them until the next day because I was so full.
