Been going to Rio Grande for yearrrrrrrrrrrrs. It's one of the places all of our family members will eat. Tex Mex Mexican, love their queso but not so much the chips, salsa is good though! Mexican egg rolls are greasy AF but also yes we order them because YUM! Okay don't laugh, their kids cheeseburger, best cheeseburger ever. Like how? At a Mexican restaurant? Yes, I promise it's incredible!!! I love their prickly pear margarita, hubby likes their Mexican martinis. I also like they have an online waitlist. This isn't the best place but it's a really good standard for us. We eat here at least once a month. The decor at the new location is totally my vibe too, love it. 4 stars is great! We've eaten here twice now! Some friends of ours have been coming here for years, and have loved it! Their queso is my favorite. Thin yet so cheesy! Great portion sides for the price. Came here after visiting the farmers market across the street, it was ok. The service was friendly and kind, the ambiance was great, but the food needs some work. I ordered the fish and shrimp soup, the amount of fish and shrimp was great but the broth was not flavorful at all. I wish it was a little stronger flavor wise, maybe some spice would have been nice as well. It had a sweetness that I did not enjoy and it was borderline bland. The shrimp were huge though and I did really enjoy biting into those. My husband had the tortilla soup and he said his was good, it feels like maybe they water down the flavor to make their dishes palatable to an American client which is understandable. The kids meals (chicken tenders and quesadilla) were ok as well. All in all, if the food was tweaked a bit this could be a great place. Service off to a bad start. A question was asked what was in a particular cocktail? The waiter's answer looked like it was a bother. Next three cocktail's out of four arrived. It took a five plus minutes for final cocktail to arrive for our party. Placing our food order came next. I asked about the special? Again it appeared to me the waiter was bothered by the question. Once again our party of four didn't get our food at the same time. We were half way through our meal before the final plate arrived. The star of the show here is the margaritas and they have a ground beef queso that is delish. I enjoyed the charro beans and my husband's Chimichanga was delicious with the green sauce. My plate on the other hand did not go so well. The taco shell was soggy so my taco was collapsing as I tried to eat it lol. The enchiladas we also not so hot of an item. The cheese enchilada had cheese that was not melted or even warm. The beef enchilada was not hot or appetizing. I ate the filling with the rice from the beef enchilada. Although a bit farther then there old PF location, its still worth the drive from Manor. The egg rolls alone are worth the drive. Service was great as usual and the place is always clean. The service was fast and responsive the entire meal. The Skinny Margarita with Tajin is amazing! What the chips lack in flavor the salsa makes up for. While sitting at my table and observing the bar area, I could tell that a lot of people like coming here for drinks. My son who is an official refried beans taste tester said the refried beans were a 4.1 on a 5 star scale. The flour tortillas we ordered didn't get eaten because he was too full. I had the stuffed chicken avocado which comes with a cheese enchilada and a side or rice and refried beans(no rice for me I ordered a double refried). If my son still wants more refried beans, he asks for mine. The crust on the avocado was different, not bad but made from masa I think but well formed and a bit salty maybe too much when paired with the cheese sauce. I really like how the avocado and shredded chicken was prepared though. I enjoyed the cheese quesadilla with the red sauce and thought it had just enough flavor to not over do it and would really like to try their chicken enchiladas sometime. The ambiance is not so great for a dinner meal. It's too bright and felt like I was under a spot light the whole meal. We came in little after the lunch hours(after 3pm). It wasn't crowded at all and so got a very quick service. We had Chille Releno and Grande Enchilada deluxe with Chicken along with Spicy Pepino. Our waitress was so busy so my sweet boyfriend went to the bar and was told to wait for the waitress. After 15 minutes I went to the bar and asked the bar tender if he could just add a bit of syrup. I got an arrogant reply that I had to ask my waitress. In all my years I have never met anyone so arrogant. I asked him again to just put more syrup. He refused so I went back to the table/ the manager came over and said she would talk to him but don't think she did. Do not go here for customer service. This is a review of service from the bar. Every time we have been here for last 3 weeks getting a drink correctly from the bar is a challenge. A regular margarita with a dot as a challenge. A swirl is totally different from a dot. The bar staff obviously is oblivious! Tonight's repeat of ordering a draft Dos Equis Michelada no ice was another repeated nightmare.
