It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. The second time we tried to come, we tried coming on a Sunday again. We called a day before so we could double check if they would be open. They told us on the phone that they would be open. Their hours on Sundays are from 10am-2pm. We show up around 12:30pm, but they were closed again even though their sign said they close at 2pm on Sundays. It is run by a couple from Belarus that came here right after Covid to open up a restaurant, with a sister in Minsk. Defying expectations, the menu is not Balkan at all. If anything, there is a strong Asian influence with poke bowls and a lot of seafood. But the menu also offers beef tartare on their raw bar menu, as well as a steak offering and grilled chicken. It's a diverse and adventurous menu, all the way from small plates to hefty mains and vegetable sides. For the dessert, try the pavlova, a meringue confection stuffed with coconut mousse and topped with lime sorbet and a grapefruit slice sidecar. Everything is superbly presented, and unquestionably fresh and healthy without veering into twigs and berries territory. The cocktail menu is also playful, with a lot of nontraditional glassware and slight spins on popular drinks; their version of a Paloma uses prosecco instead of a splash of soda. The servers are all dressed in rosé jumpsuits and very attentive. The space is amiable and elegant without being pretentious. My friends had glasses of white wine and I tried their holiday gin cocktail which was perfect for me as it was not too sweet. The server helped guide me to that drink choice. My friends had bruschetta, tuna salad, and grilled cheese with soup. We were able to walk in and easily get a table for 4 as it wasn't too busy. However, it started to fill up and it seemed like our server had many other tables because we wouldn't see her for a while and had to wait a bit for some follow up items.
