I'm very disappointed with Casa Garcia's, and after this experience I don't see myself ordering from them again. I ordered a full order of nachos, a half order of nachos, and a drink for my daughter. The half order never showed up. When I called to report it, the woman on the phone basically shrugged it off, saying they "gave it to the driver." That's not my problem. I don't care who they handed it to -- the fact is, I didn't get the food I paid for. She claimed she would refund me, but never asked for my information or gave me confirmation. That's not how you handle a paying customer. Instead of taking ownership and making it right, they pushed the blame onto the delivery driver and left me hanging. This isn't just a mistake -- mistakes happen. This is bad business. Customers shouldn't be the ones who get punished when your process fails. We'll be taking our business elsewhere. Management is either stupid or incompetent. My girlfriend and I had Al pastor tacos and the chicken looked like it had been rinsed off under a sink in retrospect. My primary issue was that it tasted and smelled very strongly of cinnamon, literally like it was a piece of french toast. When I complained and said I wasn't going to eat here anymore, but that I'd pay for the mexican lemonades (which also sucked btw, not to mention the fact that the salsa was gross today too), the manager sent our server back to tell me, and this is a quote, "the manager said [the tacos are] good, but we can take it off your bill for you this time if you didn't like it." First of all, it's MY food, you can't tell ME if it was good or bad, but this was CERTAINLY not good, nor was it prepared well or correctly. I eat at the Casa Garcia location in Pfleugerville all the time, and have never had this problem. The atmosphere is casual. This is not a "date night" place. The service was pleasant and immediate. The waitress had a lot of recommendations. Their beans are all vegetarian. Yea! My wife got the mushroom enchiladas and the rice was a little dry and hard but still tasty. The beans had excellent seasoning. The enchiladas were really good. I got the two tostadas and they were the best I have had in a while. The chips and salsa were remarkable. We got the flan for desert and they drizzled chocolate on it. I highly recommend this place. This was my first visit, although my dining companion had been here several times and said they really do it right. My measuring stick first time at a Tex-Mex restaurant is to order one chicken enchilada and one cheese enchilada both à la carte. The chips were nothing special, in fact, they appeared to be similar to something you would get at the grocery store. The salsa was OK but nothing that really had me craving for more. I came to this restaurant for the second time. I do believe that this is one of the only traditional Mexican restaurants I have stumbled across in Round Rock. Their decor is traditional and beautiful. Their food is very good. Their salsa is a bit spicy, which I like. They have a bar area with four TVs. They have tables all around the bar area. Their chips are OK, I prefer the thin, crisp corn tortilla chips, they have thicker chips with a corn chip texture. I ordered crispy tacos with rice and beans and no cheese. I also got an unsweetened iced tea and a side of guacamole. The crispy tacos were really good. The difference with the crispy tacos at this store in comparison to other local Mexican restaurants I have visited, is they actually shape the tortilla shells and fry them themselves instead of giving you a premade shaped tortilla like you get at Taco Bell. Everything tasted fresh. The service is the reason I'm giving this restaurant four stars instead of five. My server was Izzy. She approached the table promptly enough, and took our order well. She then disappeared. After we were served our food by someone else, we were missing some items, but Izzy was nowhere to be found, nor did she check on the table , I flagged down another server named Diego, who quickly fulfilled our needs and told us if we need anything more that we can contact him again , something Izzy never said nor did. When Izzy saw Diego helping us she came over and said " I just wanted to make sure that he gave you what you needed", as if she had asked him to do it. I appreciate Diego so much, that I found him and gave him a cash tip in appreciation (he saved our experience), then I gave Izzy a smaller tip than I would have given her if she had provided acceptable service. To recap, the ambience and the food deserve five stars. Izzy deserves two stars. Diego deserves 10 stars. Diego was helping us completely for free, out of the goodness of his heart. Servers basically make only tips in Texas, and we were not his table. I'm going to give the restaurant four stars because of Izzy. Called to speak with the manager to ask "what the hell?!" When I return I confirmed the address, etc. and showed her the pictures of the menu and they are NOT the same as what she handed me. ‍ She was very sweet and understanding and redid my meal to what I thought I was ordering the first time. Now to the food... everything was flavorful, well seasoned and fresh except for the menudo usually Mexican restaurants only serve this on the weekends because of how time consuming it is to make; so I knew it was a red flag lol. It taste like a can. But after adding the onion, cilantro, lime and some garlic salt, it was edible. To sum it up, I'd definitely recommend and return. read more

I have eaten at Casa Garcia's several times before and really like the food but this review is for a different kind of exceptional service I got from manager Brian at Round Rock and it has nothing to do with food. I've been needing to repaint my house and really like warm Mexican colors. One day while driving by I noticed the beautiful mango color on the outside of the restaurant and said to myself, "that's it!". So I snapped a few photos to take to a paint store. Of course colors look very different depending on lighting, time of day, etc. I thought it sure would be helpful to know the exact color name and manufacturer so I took a chance and walked in to ask. The host asked if I wanted a table for one and I said I would like to talk with a manager. Brian the manager asked how he could help and I explained my curiosity about the paint color of the restaurant. He said he had no idea but would look for a paint can in the back. A few minutes later he came back with an old paint can but it was so messy I couldn't make out the name. Brian explained it was from Sherwin Williams, which ironically was just next door. So he let me take the paint can over to inquire at the paint store. The attendant there was able to do color analysis on a small sample and tell me the exact color. (I bought a small sample to take home and try out later.) When I returned the paint can to Brian I told him the exact paint name and how he made my day with my unusual request. Back home I tested the color on my house and verified it's exactly what I want. Soon my casa is going to be the same beautiful mango color as Casa Garcia's in Round Rock along I-35 and I'm so excited! The color, by the way is Sherwin William's SW 6670 and goes by the name Gold Crest. So go by the restaurant to admire the color and go inside for an equally pleasing meal.
