I'm big on Chuys! I find their food to taste good, well portioned, and reasonably priced. I've never really been disappointed in the food at any Chuys location, including this one. I'm all about that boom boom sauce and the green chili sauce. The Elvis Presley Memorial Combo is a ton of food for an amazing price. They used to have an appetizer sampler plate which was our go to but didn't see that the last time we were here. The kids menu worked well for my kid. Service was very good at our last visit. Make sure to get on the wait-list on their website if you don't want to wait 45 mins during lunch/dinner times. My biggest complaint from my last visit is that food took 40 mins to arrive and it was unusual even for the server who apologized numerous times for it. They must have been backed up in the kitchen. My partner got the quesadillas which again consistently a solid choice. We went to this location Wednesday April 28, 2026 at 6:44pm. It's sad that two kids maybe 18 years old each are being allowed to run the entire establishment. Specifically, the boy and girl working the hostess stand. We requested a table for two and not a booth. Got on the waiting list and waited patiently for our table to be ready. The female hostess then attempted to seat us in a round booth that would have held 7 persons. When we explained we had specifically requested a table, she and the young gentleman chatted quietly and she then informed us that all the tables were closed and it was a booth or we could go back on the waiting list. However, two tables had customers. They informed us that they didn't have the staff to handle the tables. Neither of the kids could comprehend simply have the waiter that was up for the booth next walk 5 feet and serve us at a table. Neither one had any common sense and could not understand the simple concept. Every booth but one was full. We then informed the hostesses boy and girl that we refused to go back on their waiting list as they suggested if we wanted to eat at a table, that we would simply leave and go to another restaurant. They girl started laughing and said "okay". My question is, why are two young kids being allowed to run a large establishment of such and cause the company to loose revenue?????? No manager anywhere in sight nor was one available. Interesting in that we see these numerous posts on tipping and wait staff not being tip or receiving very little tip. Four of us went for an early dinner while visiting this city. Three of us loved Chuy's where we lived and the restaurant no longer exists, sadly. So we are very happy to go! We all think that Chuy's is always good and this visit continues to prove that. The chicken quesadilla was flavorful and plentiful. The green chili Mexicobb salad was excellent as usual. The jalapeño ranch dressing is always terrific. The steak burrito for the Chuy's virgin in the group was well received. That diner couldn't decide between the sauces for her burrito and our super server happily brought two. She loved them both! I got the burrito bowl with steak. Yum! I didn't like the chipotle sauce that came with it didn't thrill me and our server didn't make a fuss when we asked for yet another dish of their delicious salsa. Our server was terrific! Ronnie told us he's only been there for a month. We told the manager to keep him. He was friendly, helpful and kept us in chips and salsa! Great restaurant. Solid food, great service and fun decor. Chuy's is one of those places that I used to frequent, it was a favorite spot, but now have written off - after the pandemic - due to the deteriorating quality and exorbitant price increases. Been going here since the last century - 1999 - and it was always my go-to for out of town guests for great chips and salsa, the Elvis Combo, solid enchiladas, awesome happy hour with chips and queso. But alas - not anymore. And I don't think they care, and I don't think they'll miss me. Got the Hatch Beef Tacos - my God these were horrible. The meat was so dry, and lacked flavor, so bland, I did not finish it and I packaged it up and gave it to the homeless. And I think I paid $15 for those - 2 tacos some rice an beans? LOL! I should have sent these back but I just let it go. The quality of the food has gone downhill. They don't make that red table salsa anymore. The chips are always stale - tells me they are lacking quality control - or - they hold onto their chips longer to reduce waste. They are consistently stale. I know these guys are doing very well business-wise. They raised the prices so much, and are likely more profitable than ever before. That's great, but they are a far cry from what they used to be. Menu has been reduced - that's fine - but I cannot deal with the lower quality food, and the continuous poor execution and lack of quality control. Welp. It's been real. Our party of 6 came in at 5pm on a Wednesday and were sat immediately in an empty dining room. By 5:30, the majority of the tables were full. My boyfriend and I ordered beef and chicken fajitas for 2 which was tasty. We asked our server Josh W. for some napkins, and he asked "more napkins?" but we did not have any to begin with. There were 6 of us, but he only brought us over 5 napkins. So we asked for more and he looked around our table for a long moment, it made us feel as if he thought we were running through napkins unjustifiably. When we were done, my mom asked Josh for a to-go box, and my boyfriend asked for 2 boxes (one box for cooked ingredients of meat, beans, rice and tortillas, and another box for cold ingredients of lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and guacamole). Josh said "YOU need 2?". So my boyfriend asked for 1 box instead since Josh made it seem it seem like 2 boxes was unjustifiable. Unfortunately I'll never return here. Today, Easter Sunday a friend and I came here for lunch. We were barely greeted and when we were, the woman was extremely dismissive and had 0 urgency to get us waters (which we never got anyways) or even our drinks. My friend ordered a margarita on the rocks and due to the fact she didnt care enough to listen when we were speaking, she thought he said Texas martini? So when we told her she only responded by saying "okay well it's basically the same thing but that one is top shelf" There wasn't an im sorry or anything. I joined the waitlist before leaving the house. I still had to wait at the hostess stand for a few minutes to be checked in, but then got seated right away. This was on Memorial Day around 1PM. Our waiter, Colin, did a great job of checking on us and getting us anything we asked for. No complaintes there. I did have a problem with my grouper tacos. When they came out, there was NO FISH in them. I realized when I took my first bite and only tasted veggies and sauce. Before I could wave down anyone, Colin came from the kitchen carrying a plate with the fish on it. The portion of fish was generous, but they did not taste fresh. They had a very definite "fishy" taste rather than the clean taste they should have had. The chips and creamy jalapeño dip were delicious as always. I would NOT recommend the grouper tacos. We ordered from DoorDash. Haven't had any issues with DoorDash. However, today, we got all of our dips (queso, salsa, creamy jalapeño & sour cream) but but no chips. We called Chuy's. Since we ordered from DoorDash, they told us there's nothing they can do and we needed to contact DoorDash. Now, DoorDash has a policy - the bag is sealed & don't look in the bag (expecting the order has everything in it). We spoke to Jackie at Chuy's and she was no help, blaming it on DoorDash. What we question is why is it DoorDash's problem if Chuy's doesn't put everything in the bag? We had issues with this location about 10 years ago...interesting they haven't changed much. We visited Chuys for lunch last week. We told the manager that we were visiting from Cali. He was very warm and seated us on the patio. A few moments later, he showed up with a selection of all their signature sauces and sat down at our table to explain each one. We felt very welcome at this restaurant. Was on business travel and decided to give Chuy's a try. Couldn't get enough of the complimentary chips with pico and a white dipping sauce. My server was very attentive and even gave my some chips to have later. I also had their margarita on the rocks and it was very tasty. I also ordered the shrimp tacos and couldn't believe how big the fried shrimp were. I think they could've used more sauce but the server said it was the same white sauce for the chips so I just used that. It also came with rice and beans. Had the worst service ever from Luciano. He had a large table in addition to us so I completely understand that and am always very patient, but we were easy customers. Ordered drinks, food, and apps in one go. He didn't ask if we needed anything else, and just dropped off the check. We wanted dessert so we waited for at least 15 minutes for him to come back around. We eventually stopped a hostess to ask if he could come back, and then she came back to tell us she couldn't find him either. When he came back we told him "we thought he disappeared" which obviously was a joke, and we laughed about it. Chuy's is a reliable standard for better than average Tex Mex in a funky, eclectic setting. This location is a long way from the OG location on Barton Springs road, but the decor, architecture, and vibes are eerily similar. You will find all the classics here: the thin house-fried chips, the great salsas, the classic creamy jalapeno, and some good Tex Mex basics like fajitas. I'm not a huge fan of Chuy's margaritas, but they do get the job done. Chuy's remains tremendously popular for a fun night out, so the parking lot often fills up and wait times can be daunting. Despite that, I have had good service and experiences at this Round Rock location. Online and to-go ordering is also excellent from this location. There is an efficient curbside service that has worked well for me a few times. Overall, the food here isn't revolutionary or authentic, but it is reliably delicious and fun. read more

So first off we were super hungry and excited to eat when we got to Chuy's because I love this place! We ordered the queso for starters and two margaritas, my fiancé got the house margarita and I got the swirl! The swirl is definitely the best one! It was a little busy when we were there so the food took pretty long to come out. About 40 min later the food finally came out, the chuychanga came out fine. Unfortunately my fiancés burrito was cold which was pretty upsetting because we had been waiting so long and we were super hungry. We told our server it was cold and he said he could put in a new order for us but it would probably take a while because the kitchen was backed up. We told him no we didn't want another one so he took the burrito off our bill and brought us boxes. My fiancé went up front and asked to speak to a manager, the manager came to our table and I explained what happen. The manager was so kind and took care of us. She took all of our food off our bill, we only had to pay for our alcohol. She then said give her 5 minutes and she would be right back... 10 minutes later she came to our table with super hot and fresh orders for us! We were so surprised we did not expect her to bring us new plates. The manager Erin was absolutely awesome! Thank you for going above and beyond for us! I think they had a few regulars in at the time that they were definitely more attentive towards than us being from out of town. Wife and I ordered to go from Chuy's this past week. We were debating about eating in the restaurant until we saw that every Togo order comes with chips, salsa and the creamy Jalapeño sauce. We went ahead and placed a Togo order instead. The parking lot for Chuy's often gets pretty crowded. The Togo parking is in the back of the restaurant and not in the front. Once I found a spot, I got my food in a couple of minutes and I was on my way home. I ordered the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom Enchiladas. Chicken was flavorful. This dish is all about the boom boom sauce which is essentially a moderately spicy queso. I enjoyed the meal, big portions and the dish came with rice and beans. Presentation has fallen lately. Enchiladas should be rolled, as opposed to looking like soft tacos covered in a delicious sauce. My wife and I came for a late lunch and we were fairly promptly seated in the outside porch area where we wanted, to enjoy the breeze and fresh air. Manny was our server and he was outstanding as usual (glad to see he was still there!) I had a beer and my wife had a house margarita. I was initially thinking about their Mexican martini special but then saw the $11.50 price tag. I make a mean one myself so will wait to get home for that . We chowed down on quesadillas and a roasted chicken burrito (with my absolute fav Hatch chili sauce) and we were again impressed by the excellent flavors but not to mention the portion size (waddle worthy.) Definitely enough to take some home and enjoy again. So why 4 stars and not 5, well the menu is still missing the Elvis chicken and our long time Chuy's famous salsa bar. As a former and yet to be again Austin resident we've been going to Chuy's since it opened at Barton Springs and we were in high school. I tried my first salsa there. This location is just as good. The guacamole is AMAZING. I'm allergic to avocados so each bite could mean death but I'm willing to risk it here. The salsa is hot hot hot so be ready. The food is simply the best Tex Mex around in three states (AZ, NM, TX) and addictive. We make a pilgrimage upon each visit. It is ALWAYS crowded. Make plans to wait or call ahead. It's always crowded as it's always good. Tons of seating. The staff have been consIstently friendly and fast. My tea remains filled. Did I mention the guac? Please for all that is good and holy bring back the Bandito. That wheat tortilla filled with green chilies and cheese deep fried to delectable yumminess. We've been replicating it for 30 years at home and it's the main reason I was kicked from the Air Force for being too fat. Yes...I was discharged from Japan and came back to the States with three children, no car, no house, and no job with only military intel as a trade...all because I'm addicted to Chuy's. My friends and I ordered 3 of their soft tacos and a quesadilla. We got 2 fajita chicken tacos and a beef taco. Whoo the portions are huge! I was not expecting them to be so big. Each taco felt as big as a burrito, so I wonder how big their burritos are if I ordered one haha. Overall it was great for the price you paid. Definitely expect for leftovers - we had enough for the next day. Service was great and parking is easy since Chuy's has their own parking lot.
