On my hunt for a better fajita experience we went to Chuy's. It's odd that we have lived in the area for almost 4 years and this was our first time there. When we arrived we were seated quickly and the staff was very nice. It wasn't very crowded and therefore it was a bit quiet. The chips and salsa were amazing! The salsa had the perfect amount of spice. The fajitas came out and I was like "now these are fajitas". It was super excited and couldn't wait to dig in. They tasted really good and the corn tortillas were so much better than that other location. I have to admit that I am still on the hunt for amazing fajitas, however these are definitely better than my last ones and I look forward to returning and trying out other menu items. The only downfall was the blinds. Yeah, I get it and they are just blinds, however they were just so dirty and it distracted from the whole experience. Cleanliness is important. read more

My first experience with Chuy's was actually at Revolution Church Warrior night, so I can't yet comment on ambiance. I'm assuming the leaders at church have more experience and are pleased with their service (at least for carry out) since they chose Chuy's for such an important event. The food was beautifully packaged when it arrived and smelled DELICIOUS! My husband and I had tacos on corn tortillas. We normally prefer flour tortillas, but these were perfect. We tried the ground beef, steak, and pork (?). The steak was the best! The salsa roja (red sauce) was great and had a nice kick. The salsa blanca (white sauce) was really good too. We didn't get a chance to try the salsa verde (green), but it looked good. The chips were perfectly salted and had a nice light texture. We left the event craving more, and even though date night is usually sushi, Chuy's will be a contender for our next night out. My daughter is getting married in January and had narrowed down her choice of caterers. Since she doesn't live in this area, we told her we would do the tasting for her. This place was first on her list for us to try, so my wife made an appointment with them for the tasting. We showed up a little prior to our appointment time. Getting there is such a hassle due to all the road construction. Additionally, this location is far from us, but that was where the caterer wanted to meet us. Unfortunately, the caterer and my wife were not on the same page about the appointment, and she was not here at this location. Not a good start to the process when they are trying to get your business. That is when Emily (restaurant manager) stepped in. She said she could walk us through everything and would let the head caterer know we were at this location. This is when things started to go in the right direction. Emily went over multiple packages, asked lots of questions, and answered all of our questions. Then she started having the food delivered to sample. We were expecting small bites, but she brought us the whole enchilada:) The food came in waves, and she gave us plenty of time to try each item. She answered all of our questions and then brought out more. She then made some suggestions that really were exactly what we were looking for. This place has a big bar area. They have high tops and waiter service. I Started off with the chips and queso and had a Texastini. This is my go to drink. Comes in a little shaker with a cute little martini glass. They garnish it with jalapeño stuffed olives. This place is a little funky in the decor. Its Mexican resturant meets a 50's diner with Elvis Presley. But don't let that fool you. The food was spot on! I had the chicken enchilada and cheese chile relenos and it was delish! The salsa and a special avocado ranch type of salsa came out with fresh chips. Our server was so good and attentive. My friend and I were really looking forward to a little girls' night out at Chuy's, but unfortunately, we left disappointed. It took quite a while for our server to greet us and take our orders, and by the time the food finally arrived, mine was cold, tasted old, and had a hard texture--like it had been sitting out for too long. Chuys is always a solid option, in my opinion. I come mainly for the "white sauce" to dip my chips in, lol. Got a chimichanga this time with boom-boom sauce, it was very, very good! The outside was crispy and the fillings were rich and seasoned well. My husband's enchiladas were good as well, but nothing to write home about. Service was just ok, our waitress seemed a bit scattered and we had to ask for refills a couple of times when we snagged her as she was walking by to another table. Restaurant could use a bit of a deep clean, the bathroom was looking a little grungy when I had to use the facilities. Would probably give them 3.5 stars, but I always round up. Was told a 20 min wait for a party of 5...... not a big deal..... after 40 mins of waiting a party of 4 walk in and ask the hostess "what's the wait time" right next to me she looks and says oh I can seat you right now.... so I interrupt and say "been waiting 40 mins and they get to jump us, why" .... hostess walks away so I complain to other hostess who says "oh they were on the wait list already but your table is next" I explained that I heard them ask about the wait time and if you're on the wait list you get a notification so there's no reason to ask that...... and even still if there was a table open for a party that size why weren't we sat when they came in 40 mins AFTER us We left and will NEVER be back! The restaurant is nice and clean with tables spaced out comfortably. The food was what we expected based on our many experiences at other locations. The one major flaw at this location was the service. It appeared that each server only had 3-4 tables each as we were there about an hour before the dinner rush. After being seated our table wasn't approached for over 20 minutes so we asked the host to notify our server when they passed by our table. It took about 5 minutes after that for our server to come to our table at which time we informed them we were ready to order food as well as we were now in a hurry since we were going to the horse races. About 5 minutes passed and our drinks never arrived. We were then approached by another server informing us they would now be our server and they offered us a free appetizer before asking for our drink and food order. A few minutes after providing our order to the new server, our old server approached with our drinks. Our original server ended up providing us service for the rest of the meal. Our food came out on two separate trays about 4-5 minutes apart. We ended up being late to our event. While we will likely be back to other Chuy's locations in the future, we will be hesitant to return to this location. Such a shame that one of the more aesthetically pleasing and comfortable locations has such poor service. read more

Second time here and it did not disappoint. Very friendly environment/restaurant. The food was delicious and flavorful. I shared a "Fajitas" for 2 and it was plenty of food ! The meats tasted really good and seasoned, the bowl with the guac, cheese etc was more than enough and the beans and rice were really good too. The waitress was really attentive and really nice and made the experience overall a great one. This restaurant has a lot of Mexican and Hispanic details in their decor which I loved. This hurts my heart. My family loves Chuy's. Unfortunately, this location is struggling.we went at 4 on a Sunday afternoon. Five minute wait. We had a wonderful waitress. However she was spread all over the restaurant. Her food runners did not help her out at all. She had to come back and forth multiple times to correct table locations for food and find forgotten items. Our queso took about 30 minutes to arrive. It can after our food. The food was another story. The Tex-Mex enchiladas tasted like plastic. The rice and beans were nasty. They were either burnt or old or both. To top it off the kids quesodilla was burnt. It's literally cheese and a tortilla really! The kitchen here is killing the restaurant. The ambiance is also being affected by the kitchen. We're could hear yelling in the kitchen. The yelling consisted of someone yelling " whoever made a mess in the walk in you need to go clean that shit up now!" Overall good wait staff. Not a fan of this location. Odd conversion of the building makes the layout awkward, and it seems more shabby and rundown than other Chuy's locations including Corpus Cristi which is sea beaten. The staff, though, is wonderful. Great bunch of people and always friendly and hospitable. Chuy's has gone downhill since the last time I ate here months ago. The "Big as Yo' Face" Chuychanga is substantially smaller, so either my face is smaller or they have just shrunk portions. Conversely, the children's Bean and Cheese Taco is quite a bit larger, although now only served with rice and no side of refried beans. An order of Queso now costs more than any dish on the child's menu as well but retains its portion. The biggest change, and both my daughter and I noticed it, was everything was now sickeningly sweet. The Red Chili sauce in particular was no longer spicy at all but all too sweet. Ick. Hopefully they see the err of their ways and sort their recipes back out! read more

It was not that busy. We sat at a tall 4 top in the bar area. The drinks took over 30 min to come to the table. The hostess didn't bring silverware so we had to ask two different people to bring it when we had the food. Two out of four dishes were cold and the other two Luke warm. The server never came to ask how anything was so I had to walk to the host stand to get another sever to tell him the dishes were cold. He did take take them and had 2 of them remade. That took another 15 min while my friends were eating. Again our server never came during this time to check on us or apologize. He finally brought the two dishes out that were good and hot. By that time my friends were done eating so I ate one enchilada and boxed up the rest. I was charged for everything on top of it with no apology or manager visit. I won't be back. read more

We stopped by for lunch the other day. Only been to this CHUY's once before years ago. They used to have Chile Relleno as a staple but took it off during pandemic when menu was dramatically reduced. They had it on their monthly special so we tried it again! Excellent and nice generous portions. The atmosphere was fun with a large bar. Also ordered a special deal of the Textini. Served in a crushed ice container with a small martini glass. It was enough for three fill ups. As mentioned the portions were huge and prices were reasonable for 2024. It is a challenge in today's world to price the meals competitively and still maintain quality. If you have never been here, they start you off with a bowl of fresh chips and salsa. Other places charge $3 or $4 for that. They are thin and crisp. Service was pleasant and attentive. The front end manager checked in on us also to make sure we were taken care of. The chain has recently been taken over by the Darden group in Orlando Florida (Olive Garden, Longhorn cafe and Eddie V's to name a few) should only improve the operation and expand to a nationwide presence. Should be a good fit. This particular location has a unique setting. Some people call it iconic. Many outdoor patio tables and lots of tables on inside in different rooms. Not crowded in like many places today. If you Hanover tried CHUY's, try it you won't be disappointed. Next time we will take some pics! read more

I have never had an issue at this location. It's usually pretty busy but the refills on jalapeño ranch and waters are always plentiful. After visiting this location numerous times, I discovered they have an outdoor shaded patio. Not sure I've I've missed it in the past. This visit was extremely warm on the right side of the restaurant (felt like no AC was on) but the rest of the building was very cold. The only consistent complaint I have with this location is the women's restroom REEKS of sewage. Every time. I gag. They need to fix this because anytime I have to use it, I contemplate even going because the smell is so putrid. read more

Ambience was fine. Service was fine. If you're looking for Tex Mex and you really like a restaurant like Apple Bees, this is for you. I ordered the beef enchiladas plate with rice and beans. It was average. The salsa was not what I would call salsa, more like pico de gallo. Their Boom Boom sauce has zero boom to it. Not spicy AT ALL. No issues with the drinks. On this Sunday, they had the Blood Orange and another berry flavored margarita in the ice machine. The kids meals are pretty big... They ordered the Mac n cheese and bean and cheese burritos. Mom ordered the flautas, Liz got the chicken enchiladas with hatch sauce, it was a lot of food. I ordered the fajitas to keep it simple. They came in on sizzling got skillet. Guac' and fixings. Flour tortillas, rice , no charro beans...they only do refried beans here. It tasted okay, and then less so towards the end. The meat tasted a little overdone. That aside it was fine, but not great. One of the highlights of the visit is the chips and salsa. Liz loves it, she likes it to a fishless ceviche...it's heavy in the lime, but it's pretty good. I wasn't impressed with my fajitas, but I've had better dishes in other visits.
