After paying for my food I noticed a few days later I was overcharged on my account with out authorization.

I saw an add for this restaurant on Facebook and happily went to check it out. For what must obviously be a family run restaurant, the servers do not work as a team. The tea is good. The chips are okay. The salsa is watered down and has no flavor. The food is what Yankees think Tex-Mex should taste like. The service slow and deplorable. Park at your own risk. I won't be returning. I wouldn't waste my money on overpriced tasteless food again. Sadness. read more

Wife and I were in Schertz recently and decided to revisit this little gem - last time we went was in 2017. Food was delicious, staff still as friendly and overall a wonderful lunch. I got the Carne Guisada and my wife ordered an enchilada plate with a crispy taco. Loved it and huge portions hypo. Highly recommended! read more

So I asked for a bowl of Caldo, which they said they had on the menu and the waitress confirmed that they did have it then she came back from the kitchen and said they did not have it but they had tortilla soup and I said does it have a lot of vegetables because I'm in the mood for vegetables. She said oh yes, I said, does it have a lot of carrots and squash and she confirmed that as well, so when I got my bowl of tortilla soup, it had not one single vegetable in it but a half a potato and two skins off of a zucchini and the chicken inside the bowl were little squares meat that I couldn't even chew they were insanely tough. This place used to be good but ever since they got new people working there they can't seem to ever get my order right every weekend. It's always the same thing they forget something they forget this. I don't know what's going on, but they need to hire new people because this is just unacceptable. This restaurant is located in an old tire shop I believe. The bay doors for where a car lift would be located is now the drive through. I think that is pretty neat. The place is narrow and some tables are tight but where we sat was easy to move around. Service: ladies were quick to bring us drinks, take our orders, and bring out our food, but they did not check up on us. Not the most friendly staff. Food: I ordered the asada and egg taco. We were offered chips and salsa as we waited. The salsa had a good flavor, but the chips were a bit stale. My asada egg taco was very generous portion and the asada was tender. We were given 3 kinds of salsa to eat with the tacos. They were all delicious and the creamy one was the spiciest. If I had one compliant the salsa are either too runny or too thick. Melanie's is one of my favorite breakfast taco spots in the Schertz/Cibolo area. Their Salsa's are fresh and flavorful, the wait staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. They have a variety of salsas to choose from: the red (it's clear it's fresh, the cilantro pops off your tongue) green (a Spivey jalapeño sauce) and the chimmy-churry (a wonderful blend of a cream sauce and red pepper to create heat). Their breakfast specials will make any wallet happy. If it's later in the day, lunch and dinner entrees are packed with flavor and very affordable. First off, I was a long time customer and enjoyed the food. Some workers know me by name. A few weeks ago, I ordered five breakfast tacos to go and four of them were wrong. I went in last week to pick up my order to go and mentioned the issue with the previous order and asked how they would make it right. I was asked for my receipt, what day it was, and did I call to let them know. None of that matters. What matters is they didn't value my patronage as a customer. Papa ranchera breakfast taco on corn tortilla. Not sure what happened today but the cooks were slacking. Normally a papa ranchero taco is mixed in a tomato, onion, jalapeño salsa but you can clearly see this was not the case. It is literally down the street from my house. The hubby and I stop by this place whenever we drop off our princess at home and just want to have some breakfast us two. It's not fancy or anything and it's definitely not authentic Mexican food. I would say it is more Tex mex but it is still good. Their chilaquiles are food even though they make them with tortilla chips instead of tortillas. Oh and a plus is that there is a drive thru. There are times when I just want to order something on the way to work and the drive thru is handy. Keep in mind their parking is small. It was just dirt everywhere on the lot but they recently did their parking lot so there are actual parking spaces now. Makes the place look a lot nicer. read more

First time ever eating at Melanie's. I got a nopales and egg and a sausage Ranchero taco for only $1.29. The eggs were yellow and not watered down and the nopales was well griddled with no water. The Ranchero taco was stuffed with sausage with a very flavorful ranchero sauce. Their tortillas are flat, soft and nicely charred. I'm interested in their Caldo de rez, after seeing the pictures. It looks delicious. I think I found a new place for my breakfast tacos, in addition to Jalisco's 2 on hwy 78. read more

I've been here twice and have had the pozole, menudo and chili rellano. The pozole is made with chicken and I'm more of a pork pozole kinda guy. However, it is good pozole, not the best, but good. It is worth ordering. This is now my "go to" place for menudo. It is served, fresh, clean and hot with just the right balance of heat and menudo goodness. I add all the Mexican oregano, cilantro, onions and dried chilies with a twist of lime. It is sure to put a smile on your face. The chile rellano is one of the better ones I've had in San Antonio, and that says something as it is my favorite Mexican dish. Go with the cheese and you can't go wrong. Ambiance is typical Tex-Mex. The dinning area is bright and clean. Value is there as well. $4.50 for the pozole or menudo. Service is prompt and friendly. Solid four stars. read more
