    Dirty restaurant
    Joshua C.

In all honesty, having worked at free birds in college, I was really excited about trying it again almost 15 years later. To say that it was awful would be an understatement. The food was cold. The pans were empty, where are my children and wife ended up getting something. I ultimately declined my burrito when they didn't have any toppings to put on it. It's no wonder that they changed their hours to 8 PM and not updated Google. I imagine that no one is coming here. I can honestly say we will never be back. The staff are not invested or interested in helping customers. It was just a train wreck from the extremely dirty restaurant to the lack of options.

This was our first time here. Wow, what a cool place for sure! I got a chicken burrito with cilantro and sour cream. My husband got the monster steak bowl with Spanish rice. We also got chips and salsa. Everything was awesome. Great portions as well. Awesome customer service and even checked on us to see if we need anything. I highly recommend this spot well worth it!

First time trying Freebirds World Burrito, and I was not disappointed! If you aren't from the area, this place is similar to a Chipotle or a Moe's. They have all the fixings to go in your burrito or bowl. I like the creamy jalapeno sauce (has a bit of a kick but not too much spice). A large queso came with two pre-packaged tortilla chip bags (no stale chips here!) and we had extra. I'd definitely order from here again!

Great job on offering beyond meat! I prefer Freebirds to Chipotle, and whenever I want vegan nachos, I would get beyond meat nachos from here. It's great!

I got nachos, half steak half ground beef. I paid the extra $1.40 to get one more scoop of queso..... First, its freezing in here. I started to type and had to take my food outside in the Texas Heat! I even sat by window as cashier suggested...still freezing. The overall flavor is okay...nothing fancy about it. I do feel like these chips are so thin they cannot withstand all this food on top of them. I couldn't eat fast enough to actually have a TORTILLA CHIP! Just soggy. I felt like this has slowly become a bowl! I specifically came here for nachos. Bummer. I'm a first time. I'll just stick with Taco Cabana nachos...pretty much taste the same!

Stopped in for a quick burrito fix and while it overall did the trick they left a bit to be desired. My monster burrito was mostly filled with rice. The chips n queso are pretty decent, I would have like to received less crumbs though. I may check back if they ever run special or to try limited time menu items but probably not going to be a regular stop for burritos.

To anyone who wants to try this location, I will recommend to order the Calle de olla for coffee. If you normally drink your coffee black then I do not recommend it because it is a bit on the sweet side. But they do offer regular pot coffee as an option. (The sweetness caught my mom off guard). Taste it before you add anything to it. I also recommend trying the small conchas-they came out warm and ready to eat! This was only my second time going to this restaurant but both times I have had good experiences. Parking is a little odd. There is parking in the front and parking in the back.

The cocktails were the best part of our experience. We planned to order a little of everything to try. We started with the Esquites Negros that feature huitlacoche, something I love but isn't on many menus. Their version was ok, but not great. It tasted like canned huitlacoche mixed with unseasoned frozen corn. After that we got the Pulpo Al Pastor. Octopus is another favorite that can be hard to find. Theirs was served on a warped wooden board that had already started to absorb the pineapple salsa smear. While the octopus was impressive to look at, it did not taste good. It seemed like it had not been prepped or tenderized properly. The bottom 1 inch of the tentacles was tender, but those usually are. Unfortunately higher up the meat was so rubbery that it was almost inedible. I ate a piece cut into tiny chunks with a tortilla and some onion to try to get through it. But I couldn't bring myself to eat more. After we had been sitting a while not touching it, a bartender asked how it was. We explained it was too chewy. He took it back to the kitchen. Another bartender informed us the manager took off 50% of the price of the dish because we had eaten part of it. No manager ever came out to speak to us about it. In fact, we didn't see anyone who looked like management at all during our experience- which is odd for a Friday night dinner service. At that point, we decided not to order more. We were talking about how empty the restaurant was while we were there, and now I can understand why. They have an interesting and intriguing menu, but what we ordered was poorly executed. While we might still go in for cocktails in the future, I don't think I would have dinner there or recommend them to others. Since we were still hungry when we left, we went to 2 other restaurants after this and, thankfully, had much better experiences at both.
