Yes, it's a gym.... Yes it has new equipment but it feels run down for 2 big reasons. 1.) for the last year I have been paying extra for the add on of the recovery room, in which Chuze shows commercials all the time advertising HYDRO THERAPY. These machines are great, very popular and everyone who pays extra wants this item and this item only. Nothing else..... nobody wants to wrap their legs in gigantic compression boots.... But yet they have 4 of these machines. They never break because nobody uses them. Everyone pays for the hydro therapy but yet they only have 2 of them and 1 is always broken.... The reason, is because this is all people want out of the recovery room. But yet 1 of the Hydro machines is always broken, never fixed . instead of using membership fees to buy a new one they rely on a repair man who never shows up, and when he does, only has it fixed for a day. What's the point of having a recovery studio if the only thing people want, (HYDRO THERAPY) is never available? 2.) everyone likes to use the stair masters. It's popular now, nobody really uses elliptical's, except older people who can't be hard on their bodies. So what does Chuze do???? They have 17 ellipticals which only ever 3 are being used and 6 stair masters of which one is always broken and all 5 are always in use. A manager with his finger on the pulse of his building should see this, and rotate out unused equipment and replacing it with what's needed more of,..... like the stair masters there's always a wait for.... The workers at gym particular are great everyone of them hard working and friendly. The girl with short black hair always keeps herself busy. They changed all the tvs to few stupid silly non entertaining shows , rest all sorts of, overdose on sports channels. No more news not to many interesting shows. The guy at front told me management wanted more entertainment. FYI girls yes they love sports , but I never see one glued to the set they are predominantly doing yoga or workout out. This is my go-to when I want a gym that's close, clean, and simple. It's not fancy, but it's easy to get in, warm enough that it doesn't feel intimidating, and the equipment is good. I like that I can drop in, get a workout, and leave without a crowd. read more

I absolutely love working out of this facility. The biggest downside is the lack of repair on the equipment. For example, when zero gravity breaks down it takes weeks before the machine is repaired. In the meantime, they are very limited as to replacement in this area. It breaks down frequently and this is a very unfortunate situation. I am updating this review as management reached out to me. I am disappointed as the business apparently expects us to wait weeks at a time for repairs to be done. Andrew, why not look for vendors that will support the equipment that they supply? They could for example give you a replacement in lieu of the broken equipment if the repair is going to take over 72 hours. As of this writing, we wait weeks at a time for repairs to be completed. Look at it from your customer's point of view.... Our dues don't go down while the level of service does. You have some amazing people working at your establishment. Maybe your policies should be revisited. I don't mean to sound unreasonable. Why not put a projected date of completion on top of the machine so your members know how long they need to make adjustments to their workout and routine? read more

I signed up here back in 2022. Alina was the first one to help my boyfriend and I with our guest passes; which quickly turned into memberships. Alina & Lance have been friendly and familiar faces to us ever since and make this gym feel like a second home. I'm an early riser and this location is always clean, someone is available to greet me every day, they never open up late or have coverage issues, and they have a wide variety of pre workout. The morning crew does it best (shout out Alex, Delilah, & Josh)! Jorge is also very polite and helpful if I ever need anything! I WISH I could give more stars, I really do, because the staff is very polite, friendly, and attentive and the gym itself is clean and the equipment (aside from the "out of order" machines) is new and in good shape. But there's just too many annoying issues for me to give a fully positive rating/review. I chose Chuze over other gyms because of their "Recovery Room" - SPECIFICALLY, the hydro massage chairs. They're fantastic. But at this location, one out of the two chairs that they have is ALWAYS BROKEN. I'm not exaggerating when I say "ALWAYS." Even when they DO decide to fix it (several MONTHS after it breaks down), it will work for a few days then break down again and then we go back to waiting months for it to be repaired. So there's only ONE chair ever in working order so I never use it because I come to the gym with my boyfriend and we want to be able to BOTH use the hydro chair after our workout and that's not possible. Ever. The equipment, like I said, is decent, but when a machine DOES break down, it takes FOREVER to get it fixed. They put these cutsey signs on the broken equipment saying it "pulled a hammy" and will be back up super-duper fast! Nope. There's a stationary bike that had been down for MONTHS and still has that dumb sign on it. Last thing I want to mention that I find SUPER obnoxious (and I KNOW for a fact other people do as well) is their "We're closing in x number of minutes" warnings. In the last hour, they do the warning announcements every 15 minutes. Is that seriously necessary??? No. And the announcements are done through their PA system and they're LOUD and before every announcement, they TAP the microphone several times (like a "testing, testing" thing?) and it's just loud and abrasive and irritating as all get-out. Mixing the negatives in with their good points just results in a very overall "meh" gym. read more

Canceled my membership here after 6 years, I come everyday and every now and then hit boxing pads with my brother. Mind you for years no one said anything never a problem. Today the new GM said it was a problem because it's goes against policy about bringing own equipment. So I guess regular pads and boxing gloves is not ok, mind you we are only doing light padwork . This location is not the closest Chuze to me, but I go here sometimes when it has a group exercise class that I want to take over whatever class is going on at the Anaheim location. First, parking can be challenging once in a while, but I've always been able to find parking after a few minutes. The group exercise room is moderately sized with one giant fan in the center, so it's colder in the middle of the room and warmer to the sides. This location has early morning classes most weekdays, as well as more yoga and pilates classes compared to the other nearby locations. The gym was renovated late last year or earlier this year, so some of the amenities are better and newer compared to the Anaheim and Fullerton locations. There are only two infrared sauna rooms, but the sauna is actually hot and gets me sweating. There are only two hydromassage chairs and two zero gravity chairs, but this location has Hyperice compression boots, massage guns, balls, and vibrating foam rollers (!!). No steam room, pool, cinema, or smoothie bar as far as I know. TL;DR: If you live in the area, I highly recommend a Chuze membership. I have had the mid-tier membership for almost two years, and to be able to access group exercise classes, infrared sauna, hydromassage, etc. for $24.99 a month is quite a steal. The quality of what you get for the price is hard to beat. read more

This location is located between Cerritos and Walker in the city of Cypress...inside a plaza where's other establishments to do or see after getting a workout. Plenty of parking but can be crazy in the morning and depending on the day. Inside can be intimidating for first timers but staff is friendly enough to answer all questions and concerns. Staff are wearing mask for the most part and don't expect patrons to wear one due to updated CDC guidelines. Men's and women's bathroom is right across from each other where the weight area is. Although this location is small, compared to other locations, but there are differences. Members are friendly towards others. They have infrared sauna. It's the same thing as the sauna room but they are reserved for premium members and only one member can be it for up to 16 minutes (you don't have to stay for the whole 16 min). There's no pool but they do have the hydromassage (which there's a button which you can push to start the 10 min timer). Overall this is a nice gym. Although it's small but it makes it up on cleanliness and customer service. Highly recommend for those if you wanna get a good workout and make this gym your second home. read more

The infra red sauna.... I am always hopeful for a zen experience. But never receive one. Why is there no respect for this experience? There are either people giggling and talking loudly, or someone watching an action packed something with speakers loudly..I can go on and on.. Currently undergoing renovation and the mens restroom is a portable restroom in the back. I appreciate that there are three squat racks and two deadlifting platforms. No deadlift jack on a deadlift platform so the loading is a little bit awkward, but you're not paying for a specialty gym. The iron / rubberized plates here don't quite match and that's okay. The bumpers for deadlifting are enough to comfortably lift in the high 400's, but anything after that and the plates won't fit or will fall off mid set. The 8 stack / jungle gyms have semi-rusted attachments , worn seating / support, but everything works so no arguments there. More so just QoL. Reasonably priced and the actual gym outside of renovations is clean and presentable from the weight area, cardio section, turf and stretch room. That's all that really matters. The staff have also been really nice and not overly pushy when I did my trial period. read more

As someone who used to have gym anxiety, Chuze alleviated that and allowed me to feel comfortable working out at any location. The amenities are too notch. Clean, welcoming, and functional. I frequent the gym for cardio and weight training, and have not had a bad experience yet! I do come during the middle of the day so there is always ample space and machines to work out! I am someone who likes to come in and get the job done, so I appreciate the availability during the slower period. I love that the staff is constantly cleaning and checking in on guests to make sure the experience is at its best for a midday session. Also, I've previously been with other gyms and even at chuze's top tier membership, you get more for a competitive price. This was my first visit to Chuze. I had to wait 20 minutes to get help because there was only one person working the counter, and four people ahead of me also waiting. I asked if there was anyone else working and they told me no, they were working alone. One person was actually getting a new membership. This is ridiculous. Also people were sitting on the machines reading their iPhones between sets. One person even had a water bottle sitting on the seat of a machine and told me they were saving the machine when I went to move it. I've never seen this in any health club before. There is nobody supervising. I am 71 and fell at one point and became stuck under a machine. Fortunately two of the club members helped get me up off the ground or I'd still be laying there stuck under the machine. I give it a two thumbs down and will put that in my Yelp review as well. read more

Most of us will appreciate this effort but then you will have some that find fault with everything and that is what it is sadly. Happy 16th birthday Chuze. 16 year old equipment and one maintenance worker. I was told that he is a human being and can only do so much by an employee who was standing at the front counter with 5 additional employees, all doing nothing but chatting. (I have pictures) First of all, I wasn't even saying anything about the maintenance guy so why did she need to say he's a human being??? Recently Machine Pulled a Hammy signs have been placed on equipment at an alarming rate. Today, more than 1/2 of the exercise bikes are inoperable( leaving 3 operable and occupied). I was told parts have to be ordered due to the age of the equipment. Not my problem. I have been a member for most of those 16 years and my dues continue to rise. Operate your business. The generational response of the employees is that We are Trying. They certainly are Trying. The gym is equipped with dozens of televisions which more often than not can not be accessed for Audio. Once again, we are Trying. For years!! The current application takes 5 minutes to access one television. Once connected, if you are even successful, there is a 7-10 second time delay. Chuzes response is A 10 second delay is better than nothing. read more

This is an issue with a membership cancellation and their lack of keeping documents in their system. My wife cancelled her membership in April-May 2019 before she moved to Korea for a while. Then we noticed that she has been being charged since then, $22-23/month plus $39.99/year. We call the Chuze Cypress that she cancelled the membership already and they searched for the record, but they can't, then asked us to provide the copy or an email of the cancellation. It was 2019 and it is hard for us to find the docs as well from our end. But my wife visited the office to cancel the form with the young gentleman at the office in a busy day in 2019 as we remember and we believe they did not scanned the form somehow. I requested if they have a CCTV or video records in that month, but they said they can not. It is a huge disappointment and will go to a small court to dispute. My advise, please do NOT trust their document filing system, and go to their office directly and sign the form and wait until you see they sent the form via email before you leave their office if you want to cancel. read more

I really wanted to love this gym but unfortunately it keeps disappointing me. The staff are nice but eager to leave which I understand but they turn off the TV's 15 min before closing and same for the entire facilities like the sauna. This is an everyday routine and I have gone to several gyms like 24 hour fitness and LA fitness. Most gyms don't start to close until the time of closing but Chuze it's different and that's so unfortunate because it's a great gym except for that minor flaw. Lastly, the staff try to be nice but I don't feel like it's a welcoming environment. The best thing about this gym is super clean and that's the main reason I keep coming back! I've been going to Chuze fitness for about a year now and it's my favorite gym. I've been to other commercial gyms in the past and they don't even compare to Chuze's cleanliness, friendly staff, and welcoming environment. Every time I walk in, a staff member is smiling and welcoming everyone, the locker rooms are clean as well as the entirety of the gym. I also appreciate the wipes they keep all around the gym to wipe down equipment. Other gyms have spray bottles but Chuze locations have disinfectant wipes. The Cypress location is my favorite location to go due but all other ones are still great. read more

After my workouts I usually use the sauna to help myself relax and reset for the day, so I highly recommend trying it! My whole family joined a month ago and I'm not gonna lie that I'm wishing now we hadn't. The location is good. The facilities are clean enough. The staff seems friendly enough. But they are either super busy to where no equipment is available or they are closed! Every night there's a line for all the machines. So I came on Sunday night and they close at 8:00! Either another location needs to open around here, they need to expand their current locations, or they need to stay open later. Word of advice if you are choosing a gym- check out the traffic in there around the time you'd be going. I wish I'd done that! We're paying money to stand around waiting for equipment or be told they are closing soon. Editing to respond to the business response: there is nothing thrilling about paying monthly for three people to stand around in line for equipment to open up or not be able to go during shortened business hours. Same group of old people like to hog the corner cable machine by the cardio section of the gym. They're there from 8-11am Monday-Saturday with their low weight half reps completely wasting others peoples time. They often use two machines at once going back and forth completely entitled behavior. If you've been to this gym you'll know who I'm talking about. This is the gym that got me to start working out again. Now, I'm addicted. Its clean, has friendly staff, and reasonably priced. If you do the math, the membership is cheap. Costco has a "deal" for $370 "All Sport", which works out to $15.41 for 2 years. Its just for new members and you are locked in for 2 years. The "Super Sport" membership is $650 for 2 years, which works out to $27.08. Again, you are locked in and have to pony all costs up front. Chuze's cost runs about $24/month when you factor in the annual fee, and you are not locked into the 2 year commitment. To top it off, the Costco deal is not valid in HI, NJ, NY, MD and TN. Anyway. Its a clean gym with a few frills. And probably the best chain around. Check them out. read more
