I love this place. I've been seeing Susan for lashes and brow wax for what feels like ages and always feel well taken care of. She really pays attention to how my lashes act over time and makes changes and recommendations for future appointments to make sure each fill is better than the last. She gives me a lot of volume without looking fake. I don't ever feel like they're trying to upsell me -- Susan will recommend against services I don't need which only serves to make her recommendations more effective. Michelle at the front desk is incredibly welcoming and works hard to arrange a very full schedule. Karen, the owner, is passionate about her business and clients and it shows. I've never had the pleasure of booking a service with her but she still welcomes me by name and talks to me like an old friend. They're really the best. read more

I have been getting lashes from Susan @ Ciao Bella for a while now (after trying many different places) and she is the absolute best. Not only do you get to relax on a comfy heated spa bed, but Susan also puts a lot of emphasis on natural lash health. Many do not, and will give you lashes that are too heavy or long. This makes you lose your natural lashes, and you can't have extensions if you don't have any natural lashes! She is also a licensed esthetician / has been doing lashes for close to 10 years which I think makes a big difference. My lashes hold up very well, and Susan is so accommodating and sweet. Ciao Bella skincare is the warmest most inviting skin care salon I have stepped foot in and Karen goes above and beyond. She remembers ever detail from the previous facial, asks many questions, and tailors each facial based on specific skin type and needs. A few months back I purchased a voucher from Living Social for a chemical peel at Ciao Bella Skincare in Newburyport. I have NEVER had a peel before and was extremely anxious about the process. Remember the episode from Sex and the City when Samantha had a peel??? I was praying my face wouldn't look like Samantha's but just in case I waited until I had an entire week off from work before booking my appointment! When the time came for my appointment I was very nervous and even considered canceling. I am extremely happy that I didn't! Karen, the owner of Ciao Bella Skincare, immediately set my mind at ease with her warm personality. We sat down before the process began and she thoroughly explained each step to calm my nerves. I asked a million questions and she patiently answered each one in great detail. She made me feel very comfortable and when the time came to begin the peel all my worries had subsided. We chatted throughout the peel and it felt like talking to an old friend. It was a wonderful experience. I love that she didn't push me into buyIng her products or rebooking immediately. Some salons do that and it drives me crazy! She did suggest a moisturizer but never once did I feel compelled to purchase the moisturizer from her. I ended up purchasing the moistuizure and rebooking a facial for next month! I'm looking forward to going back and have already recommended her services to all of my girlfriends. I wanted Lashes for my wedding but loved them so much I kept them up. Susan is The absolute BEST Esthetician I've ever been to. I used to drive from Portsmouth, New Hampshire to see Susan but moved to Texas last May. I kept going back to her for about a month until I tried some places close to me in Texas. I've been to three Estheticians for Brow fills and it's NOT even close to Susan's job. From the moment you walk in Ciao Bella you have a relaxing feeling.
