We were staying in Healdsburg, and one day we chose to walk instead of hiring a driver. We went to mostly tasting rooms around town, but Orsi was the only full vineyard that we visited that day. It was our first stop of the day. When we arrived, just after 11 AM, it was not yet crowded. We were greet by very friendly people working there. They also had some great Halloween decorations still up at the entrance, as this was only two days after Halloween. We enjoyed our first tasted of a nice, mostly dry white called Biancolella d'Ischia. It was a lovely start to our tasting. We then wandered through the tasting room where we met other friendly staff who we spoke with about our recent wine tasting trip to Italy. We then enjoyed a Sangiovese that was paired with a delicious and hearty vegetable tortellini soup. Later, we got to try another couple of Italian wines. Orsi grows grapes from Italy on site in Healdsburg. The vineyard is beautiful. We were just starting to see some fall color the first weekend in November. There is an area in back that is just lovely and looks like it is all set up for a party. There are tables for picnicking and, at that time, there were lots of pumpkins and hay bales. We enjoyed our wine and soup outside. Had we not been there for an event with lots of other wineries to visit, I would have liked to spend much more time there. Inside the tasing room, there were lots of Italian treats and cooking ingredients. I was walking, so decided I couldn't really carry much, but otherwise, I may have gone a little crazy with my shopping. Anyway, for a nice atmosphere and great Italian wine in Healdsburg, I recommend Orsi.

We are so glad we did because all of their wines were phenomenal! The owners/winemakers have two labels that we sipped from during our wine tasting. The Judge Palmer label is known for their incredible Cabernet Sauvingnon. They have other common varietals such as Chardonnay and Cab Franc that were incredible as well. The Domenica Amato label features Grenache and other unique Rhone varietals, which were amazing as well! We were hosted by Palmer, which made us feel welcomed and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and their incredible wines! We enjoyed sipping wine surrrounded by stacked oak barrels and loved the relaxed and rustic feel to this place! We look forward to coming back when Chef Mateo is there to try their food and wine pairings because we have heard such great things about his food! I bought a bottle of Remy Saves The Sea, which was a really interesting mix of white varietals. Also, I appreciated that they have a snacks menu, and we got the seasonal cheese and also the popcorn. Both were really good, and having some food was helpful to balance a day of wine tasting. Their prices are very reasonable. I also felt like it is a fun place to hang out, with a nice outdoor patio as well as indoor space.

It was Sunday and we were the only visitors when we first showed up. The crew was great and engaged with lots of wine talk and plenty of tastings. The owner eventually came in to the tasting room and we spoke a lot about all the different varieties of wines they have. We then took a tour with the owner as it was harvest and they had a large amount of grapes being processed. We ended up joining the wine club and look forward to future visits.

I opted to take home a couple of bottles of that fell more at my price point considering the financial damage I did with 2 weeks in Napa... but I also had to take home that Lolita Pinot. Because I didn't finish writing my review, I'm blanking on the name of the girl that walked me through my tasting (Eliza?)- but she was fantastic. Knowledgeable about the winemakers and origin stories- why certain labels or wines were chosen- a very positive experience! While helping me she was also getting a group of ladies set up that were coming in for some Sunday Mahjong and wine. The view from this room was spectacular overlooking their expanse of vineyards and Mount Saint Helena!! Tonya was amazing! She guided us through all of our tastings, which actually was quite a few at this particular vineyard. And we even got super lucky that the founders son, who now runs, the vineyard was there he even stopped by to chat with us for a bit! Another thing that I really liked about this tasting as they give you snacks to pair with the wines throughout your tasting but you can also buy larger snacks if you wish. My husband and I agreed that the Cabernet Franc and the Primitivo were our favorites! Another fun thing about this vineyard is they make and sell their own olive oil.
