We visited Arandas in Healdsburg for happy hour, and while it was a little tricky to find at first, it ended up being worth the effort. The restaurant is located inside a hotel -- you walk through the front doors, past the lobby, and you're there -- but the signage isn't very obvious from the outside. Luckily, someone noticed us looking around and kindly came out to ask if we were looking for Arandas, which was super helpful and welcoming. We ordered a couple of drinks and two appetizers from the happy hour menu. The birria tacos came with consomé and were absolutely delicious -- tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The chips and cheese, on the other hand, weren't my favorite. The flavor was fine, but the cheese hardened quickly after cooling, which made it less of a dip and more of a sheet of melted cheese. My husband enjoyed it more than I did, but I personally prefer a more sauce-like queso for dipping. The service was excellent -- attentive without being overbearing -- and the overall atmosphere felt like an upscale Mexican restaurant with a warm, polished vibe. The happy hour drink prices were also fantastic, especially for Healdsburg. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu next time -- great spot for drinks, small bites, and friendly service in a stylish setting.

I'm officially hooked on Arandas in downtown Healdsburg! The Coconut Mango Margarita tastes like a mini tropical getaway: creamy coconut meets tangy mango, with just enough tequila to put a happy smile on your face without any wobble. The Prickly Pear Margarita follows up with a subtly sweet, cactus-fruit twist that's impossible to resist during happy hour. If you love nachos, order the Chicken Tinga Nachos. The chips arrive perfectly crisp and seasoned, smothered in nacho cheese and shredded cheese, then topped with tender, smoky chicken tinga that practically melts in your mouth. It's the ultimate shareable starter, though you may catch yourself guarding your half of the plate. The vibe at Arandas feels lively without ever being too loud. Happy hour margarita prices are absurdly good, so you'll have plenty of extra change to wander the charming streets of Healdsburg afterward. Trust me--you'll be planning your next visit before you even finish your first round. This spot earns a permanent place on my must-visit list.

Chicken Tacos and Squash Tacos (vegetarian) - build your own!

Arandas recently replaced our beloved Chalkboard, the restaurant attached to Hotel Les Mars. We were sad to see Chalkboard go, but excited to have a new option to try. They updated the space with some dark dramatic wallpaper, new seating, and new chandeliers. Very pretty! The menu offers a few starters, 3 seafood appetizers, 3 salads, 3 taco options, and 3 mains. We shared the guacamole for $16. It was beautifully presented with edible flowers on top. It was a more pureed consistency than I'm used to - I prefer a little more texture to my guac. But it came with fresh, thin, salty chips, which we loved. I had the CALABACITAS (summer squash tacos) and my guy had the POLLO (achiote grilled chicken tacos). The tacos come deconstructed, build-your-own style. The portions didn't look huge but proved to be quite filling. We really enjoyed the flavors of both the squash and chicken, and the homemade tortillas. I would order both of these options again. To drink we tried the classic margarita - really fresh and not overly sweet, one of the better margaritas we've had recently - and a non-alcoholic cocktail. Thumbs up to both! I hear that that Arandas Happy Hour is worth a visit, so I'll try that next.

Ambiance was really nice and great outdoor space. Food was very tasty and we especially liked the appetizers (guacamole, corn, ceviche). It was one of the few nice restaurants that could accommodate a dog, two infants, and a large party, so we thought we got lucky finding this place on our 4th of July weekend vacation. The only downside was we came for my mother's birthday and were told we needed to pay a cake cutting fee if we brought our own cake, which was totally fine. I brought a cake that was nicely decorated with fresh flowers and a happy birthday message for my mom. It was $70 because it was a custom cake. Everything was going well throughout the meal except a hiccup with getting one of the orders wrong in our party (brought a chimichanga instead of what my brother's MIL wanted). No big deal. Then came a bad turn when the staff brought out my mother's birthday cake already cut! She never got to see the beautiful decorations and custom message because the staff made a mistake and cut the cake first (by the way I have been to a lot of restaurants for birthdays and have never seen this happen). It was a smaller mistake, but when I proceeded to ask what happened, they gaslighted me and claimed they didn't see a message on the cake and acted like they didn't do anything wrong. I was not happy with how they handled it and felt we shouldn't pay the cake cutting fee if the service was so bad for it. The waitress who came to give us a bill when I told her this gave me an incredibly snarky tone (you can tell she was already ready to be defensive) and said "oh we already waived the cake cutting fee. Why do you want something else? I'll get my manager" and when I said it was fine as long as the cake cutting fee was waived kept saying she would get her manager like 3 times very aggressively. The only saving grace was when the manager came, he was very professional. He apologized for what happened (which was all we wanted really) and handled everything swiftly. He did offer other compensation, other than waiving the cake cutting fee, but we said it was fine and the food was delicious. Last annoying thing was they still charged us for the mistaken chimichanga on our order and we had to fix it on the final bill. Good thing we read.

Fresh and delicious food. Great service! We came for happy hour and were super impressed with the quality of food and drink. We will be back for dinner. Plus they are putting together live music on their patio. Check it out!

Sunday late afternoon, my husband and I are staying with Les Mars of Healdsburg. 5:00 we decided to have a bite to eat at. Arandas down stairs from Hotel Les Mars. We were offered indoor or patio. Patio was lovely weather, so we chose out doors. My husband had oysters to begin (they happened to be on happy hour, (3 for $7.00) they were displayed beautifully over small pebble coastal stones. We had chips and guacamole...delish, along with a margarita for myself and a whiskey for my husband. We shared skirt steak tacos with a side of rice and beans. Delish. Unfortunately we were hoping to enjoy Tamales, however they were out from previous evening. For desert we were looking forward to empanadas for desert with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit. they were out of empanadas.. With that we enjoyed our shared meal which was plenty for us. We then returned to our lovely room up stairs, which we have stayed many times in the past. Then walked our fur baby across the street to the park. Service was great, we were the only people on a Sunday afternoon. Ambiance was nice and quiet with a lovely temperature outdoors.

Guacamole, fried zucchini and watermelon margs (forgot the drink name, but top of the drink list)

We love to frequent this location. It's become a favorite spot of my husband and myself since opening up. Dare I say,m they have THE best happy hour we've yet to encounter here in Sonoma county. Love the decor/ bar setting and the private back patio is also a great spot to grab dinner and drinks! They rolled out a new menu which we tried this weekend and those watermelon style margaritas? DIVINE. Always have encountered kind bartenders and staff here too. Also, the guacamole is a no brainer for your starting order. Everything always tastes incredibly fresh!

Such a great happy hour! The bartender (I think her name was Reina) was great and very attentive. Her drinks were also great. Loved the food (we got happy hour items - tartare and the quesadilla) and both were very good. Can't wait to come back here!

Arandas is a new restaurant in the heart of downtown Healdsburg. Their restaurant is inside a hotel but has its own entrance. The vibe is a casual nice . And parking is easy as there is a large public parking lot right across the street ( walking distance). I liked their menu - the ceviche was really good as well as the guacamole. I orders the halibut which was cooked perfectly! There is a chicken or veggie taco on the menu but not a meat taco. We wanted dessert but were disappointed to see Italian desserts on the menu instead of Mexican desserts . I recommend churros be added to the menu . Our service was excellent ! All in all I would come back here even if they don't have churros on the menu !

    Guacamole, chicharrones, chips and salsas
    Rachelle C.

This is the best happy hour in Healdsburg for quality high end Mexican tapas and delicious margaritas that are made with a local tequila. Try the papas (roasted potatoes) with cavier, the pollo tacos, and guacamole mas (with chicharrones) and the amazing scallop ceviche. It's all fantastic! There's an outdoor deck in back. It's in Hotel Mars next to Little Saint. Our new fav place.

First off, they were so welcoming when we checked in. And I love that it's so pet friendly. Hostess that checked us in was a doll. The inside decor and the layout was so cute. One side is the hostess counter and right across from there is a waiting lounge area which I believe is also utilized for dining. Walking through, they have indoor seating to one side and the bar area to the opposite. Also dining available along the hi top bar counter. We had a big group which they had us set up on the patio. Another beautiful layout. It's like dining in a community garden slash secret garden. Our waitress who took care of us was amazing. So sweet and very friendly. Not just her but the entire staff there. Menu wise looked amazing. Also it was also a recommendation from one of the staff at a winery we were just at. Drink menu was quite huge too. Of course food was on our mind and it did not disappoint. Big group meant a lot of share plates to start off. A double of things ordered to start off. Daily crudo which was served with wonton chips. Fresh fish with all spices and marinaded. It was fresh and delicious. You gotta have oysters if it's available. Curry deviled eggs was quite tasty as well. Your classic eggs with a little twist. Mushroom egg rolls were a hit. It literally came piping hot so it was a little wait till we enjoy it and it was delicious. Came with two dipping sauce which paired very well. Salsa macha fries, similar concept as the elote corn with the coltija cheese, lime creme and cilantro. Brisket can also be added which we opted out for. Then there was the grilled Vietnamese steak with the not so sticky rice in a cube form. Cooked perfectly and the crunchiness of the rice was perfect. Also the dipping sauce was great. Beef brisket tacos were another hit. Two orders and loaded with meat and all the topping. Very flavorful and delicious. Cant come here and not have their almost famous chicken tenders. Big chunks of chicken battered and fried to a nice golden color. It was so juicy and served with pickle chips and dipping. You can have it hot or now with the sauce. Crispy duck confit was delicious. Nice potion of duck with bitter greens and duck fat potatoes. Brazen burger, which was pretty massive. Classic burger but better and with bacon and fries. Then you have the kimchi noodles, added chicken and shrimp or without. That dish was tasty. You either love kimchi or not and the way it was prepared with pasta, delicious. And lastly, the special was a hot ham sandwich I believe. Served with potatoes salad and gherkins. It was a hefty sandwich with loads of meat and cheese. Simply but so good. Food was excellent as we literally had loads from the menu. Of course loads of recommendations which I know why. The food was exceptional and service was great. Restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent. Also they're so pet friendly. Plus, we ordered a dog patty for the pup and it was quite tasty...lol.... Can't wait to come back, hopefully soon. Not sure if menu if set or it changes seasonally. Regardless, whoever is in charge of menu, chefs kiss.

I feel it's relevant to mention that I am an Indian man, born and raised in Ohio, and the other three members of our party, including my wife, are Caucasian. We were having a political discussion at our table. We had visited a winery beforehand, so I'll acknowledge that our conversation may have been louder than average, but there was no arguing, disruptive behavior, or inappropriate language. My wife, who was part of the main conversation, was not even drinking alcohol. After taking our drink order, our server returned and refused to serve alcohol--but only to me. When we respectfully asked why, he stated that he could not serve me because of my accent. Wanting to be absolutely certain we understood him correctly, my wife asked, "Just to clarify, you're telling us that you're refusing to serve only my brown husband because of his accent?" He confirmed that was the reason. I'm sure the restaurant may later claim the decision was based on intoxication, but that was not the explanation we were given. The first two reasons provided were explicitly that it was because of my accent. For the record, I don't believe I even have an accent--but even if I did, that should never be grounds to refuse service. We left without eating, though we still paid for the drinks that had already been served. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously, because no guest should be singled out and denied service for something like this.
