I pass by this restaurant often and happy that I got a chance to dine in. Went there on a weekday, the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The place had three sections of seating. We went during the day ,no wait , and the atmosphere was very cozy. The food was delicious. I would come back just for the lasagna. Hearty portions and great flavor. Restaurant parking next floor.

I would have loved to give Ciao Ragazzi a higher star rating because the food is wonderful. We've tried 5-6 times that ordered for pick up different dishes (pizzas, ravioli, etc) and everything has seemed incredibly superior and amazing compared to other restaurants in the area. We were actually considering going at least once a week because we enjoyed the food that much. But honestly, at this point, that's not something we're going to think about anymore. Why? Because the first time we went, the service was okay, nothing extraordinary, but we were treated well, we got our food, and the service was good. The second time, though, they sat us on the terrace, right in the middle of other tables. There were three different times when the waiters walked by and elbowed us while we were eating. They never apologized, and it felt like they were practically on top of us. That day, my husband ordered meatballs and asked them to leave out the cream or put as little as possible, the staff member just laughed and walked away, and when the dish came back, it had no changes at all. We knew because we'd had it before and could tell it was exactly the same. We also noticed them inside the restaurant pointing at us and laughing. It was really uncomfortable. The third time we went, we felt uneasy again, according to Google, they were supposed to close at 11pm on Saturday, and we arrived at 9:35 pm, we were still in the parking lot walking up when someone came out with trash bags and told us, "No Service, you can't come in." We didn't even get to the door before being turned away. Honestly, it's a great restaurant in terms of food, but the service is awful. We'd rather pay more somewhere else and be treated well than feel like we're being done a favor just by being there. It's not right to feel like you're a burden to the staff, and that's exactly the vibe we got not once but twice.

My husband and I have passed CIAO RAGAZZI many times intending to try it. It's tucked away in the neighborhood and looks so inviting. Being Italian, I'm rather particular about Italian food. Tonight we finally walked in. We were greeted with smiles and chose to sit in the bar area at a high top. First PLUS...they were playing Italian music!! We were greeted by a cute gal named Kim. I told her this was our first visit and she took our drink order and gave us time to view the vast menu. We chose bruschetta for an appetizer. Wow!! It was absolutely delicious!! My husband ordered homemade pizza with the most delicious crust....I told you, I'm fussy. I ordered the chicken Vesuvio....again absolutely perfect. We enjoyed Tiramisu and cuppacino afterwards. CIAO RAGAZZI is a jewel in my neighborhood. It's a family owned and family run business....that's why the employees care. We will definitely make it a point to visit frequently.

Beautiful hidden location, the fastest service I've seen in a while. The servers are FAST I had the rack of lamb, and bruschetta Can't wait to come back and try more items off the menu!!

Stopped in early afternoon. Started with beers from the special's list: SA Octoberfest and Revolution Anti-Hero IPA. Both fresh and crisp. For app we had the Beef Carpaccio which was absolutely delicious. Super tender beef with a bright lemon/olive oil dressing. Perfect start! The Lobster Bisque had a good taste but we did not find any pieces of lobster in it. Dinners were Agnoloti Cipriani which was mouth watering and I could have gulped a cup of the sauce it was that phenomenal. Spouse had the Veal Parmigiana and found it amazing as well. Nice sized portions. Dessert was the churro cheesecake which we split and they graciously brought to the table sliced into equal portions. Service was spot on, the restrooms are immaculate

Delicious. Great vibe and such a cool place to have dinner. Drinks and food on point with stellar service. Sat at the bar to eat. Had a mango peach martini to start and it was very good. Bread is so delicious and oh so good. Started with the Brussel sprouts for an appetizer and order the shrimp stuffers ravioli in a lobster cream sauce. Oh so delicious. The Brussel sprouts were large enough to share and topped with a sliced almonds. The shrimp ravioli was amazing. Lots of additional shrimp on top and the sauce of my was so good. Far too full to try a dessert. This place is top notch. It is but big but very friendly and welcoming.

Unbelievably great Italian in a laid back bar and restaurant in the neighborhood what more can you ask for??? Service is impeccable and the food unbelievable...... One of my favorite neighborhood gems!!

We came here craving Italian food and not wanting to deal with parking in little Italy. I was highly impressed. The place was lightly lit, so it gave for a nice romantic date. The food was delicious! I asked the waiter for a drink recommendation that was sweet and with tequila. I ordered el dragon and it was pretty good. I ended the night with an espresso martini. Perfect ending for the night.

Brussels sprouts... crunchy and very original sauce. I couldn't figure it out but you HAVE to order these!

Great service! Fast and very friendly staff. Very attentive to our needs- and trust me we can be picky and demanding at times. Overall perfect!

My spouse and I love coming here. It never disappoints, the food is fresh, service is excellent. The place is always clean and the ambience is classic Italian. The cherry on top tonight was the amazing churro cheesecake.... Omg, it was delish! This Italian restaurant delivers in every aspect. Highly recommend to friends and family.

Normally I hate those kinds of large group dinners, but this was the perfect spot for it. The service was absolutely wonderful. I don't know how our server stayed so cool and calm with a group that size. We got a variety of things. EVERYTHING was amazing. If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. We had visited Florence last year, and one of the numerous wonderful moments of our trip to Italy was seeing "Il Porcellino" - the lucky bronze boar fountain that draws tourists from around the world. A copy of the boar stands proudly near the entrance of the restaurant, and though it is not as old as the original 1634 sculpture, it was a charming reminder of our amazing Italian holiday. Did I mention that the weekday Happy Hour (4-6PM) specials are quite good? The specials are served only at the bar area, so you might have to wait a few minutes for available seating. We started with some drinks, including two kinds of Negroni. The wild mushroom arancini (5 little balls for $6) were the smallest I've tried, but they were creamy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The whipped ricotta and jam beautifully served on a strip of toasty focaccia was a unique taste sensation. Prime beef meatballs and short rib sliders on toasted ciabatta bread also hit the spot. Even though we were merely dining at the bar, we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. There are lots of photos on the walls, interesting lighting from the ceiling, nice serving dishes, and servers who seem to know who their regular diners are. We look forward to returning to Il Porcellino, to bask in that indescribable feeling of being in Italy again.

It's one of those places that you find yourself talking about long after the meal is over. The garlic bread alone is worth the visit. They pour what feels like a gallon of garlic butter over it, and somehow it's still never enough. It's rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. We order it every single time and would probably be disappointed if we didn't. The real star of the show, though, is the lasagna. Between the two of us, we've had lasagna at countless restaurants, and nothing has come close to this one. It's hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. Perfect layers, incredible flavor, and the kind of comfort food that makes you want to savor every bite. Their Grey Goose espresso martini is also unmatched. We've tried espresso martinis all over Chicago, and this one is still our favorite. It's smooth, perfectly balanced, and the ideal way to start or end the meal. The atmosphere is another reason we love coming here. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, with a dark, moody vibe that makes it feel special without being stuffy. It's the perfect date night spot whether you're celebrating something or just looking for a great night out together. If you're visiting Chicago and love Italian food, Il Porcellino is a must. Great food, amazing drinks, beautiful ambiance, and a meal you'll be thinking about long after you've left. We make a point to visit every time we're in town, and it never disappoints.

I would say it's a romantic setting, a bit dark in the restaurant. Us old folks needed the table lamp to read the menu better. I had read good things about the meatballs and bread as an appetizer so we shared that. Five meatballs, I got two. I thought they should have been hotter but I still enjoyed them. The wife wasn't impressed. Not sure about the younger folks. We shared a bottle of Classico Chianti, Montescondo which was very good. Boyfriend had the braised beef short rib. He seemed to enjoy it. Daughter had gnocchi. Wifey had Bucatini Amatriciana while I ate penne bolognese. Wifey and I shared an order of chicken Parmesan. So much of it the kids took home almost half. The wife had wanted to get the tagliatelle carbonara but with certain ingredients. They weren't sure if they could do it since the sauce was already made. She switched to the Bucatini but the server came back later with the carbonara for her to enjoy on the house. They are very nice here.
