I was thankful to be invited to this beautiful event catered to by Ciao family restaurant. My family was celebrating a baby shower and the venue and the service was beautiful and unique. The food was fantastic, and the attentive staff and refillable food and drink options were extremely pleasing and satisfying to be involved with. Definitely recommend a visit or family event.

Ciao has a prime location in with ample parking in the heart of Eastchester, taking full advantage of the location, flexing their pricing power and capitalizing on the universal appeal of Italian-American cuisine. The dining room is welcoming and pretty and the staff is trying hard to make the experience feel upscale, probably in an effort to justify $20 for pizza, $22 for pasta, and $18 for a salad with protein for lunch. Our server was friendly, but young and not "invested" in our experience; impression was he was new/"green" and couldn't be bothered asking if we needed anything or wanted more of anything. Nothing about the meal was special, worth mentioning or delicious, it was good and average. A plate of pasta, salad with chicken, we drank water and had tea to finish, $87 all-in lunch for 2. Nicest part was we had a quiet corner table and they gave us all the time and space we wanted. What you see is what you get here, straight-up Westchester Italo-Americano. Full disclosure: Hard to write an unbiased review because my husband is Italian (not Italian-American, raised in Italy and we return often) and we know how special pizza or a simple plate of pasta can be. Sorry!!

So happy to see they renovated! I haven't gone in some years but we went for take out the other day. Their food is still exactly spot on. The new renovation is beautiful and up to date! We love the Endive Salad. It's very unique yet simple. My wife got hers with grilled chicken which the chicken was fresh and cooked very well. Not like grilled chicken places that you can't even eat it! The salad has endive, blue cheese, peppers, walnuts with a vinegarette. Very nice. Of course we also had to order one of their pizzas which we got the regular pie. It's such a refreshing pie. It's so nice and thin and no one in the area really makes it like they do. Not even johnnys. It's really paper thin. Can't wait to go back and sit down

We even ran into an old friend who lives nearby, and she confirmed what the vibe already suggested, this is very much a go-to spot for locals. Parking is manageable. There's metered street parking, and if that's tight, there's a paid lot around the corner with plenty of space, which makes things easier. Service was solid. Our waitress had clearly been there a while and carried that local familiarity, comfortable, knowledgeable, and attentive without overdoing it. To drink, I ordered The Perfect Gentleman, and it lived up to the name. You immediately pick up the chamomile aroma, which gives it a really smooth, refined feel. A well-crafted cocktail. We started with the Crema Di Burrata and Arancini alla Piemontese, both were excellent. The burrata was fresh and creamy with just the right balance of seasoning, and the truffle and mushroom risotto balls delivered great flavor and texture. For dinner, we shared the Goat Cheese Pizza. While the combination of walnuts, balsamic red onions, baby arugula, and truffle honey sounded great on paper, it came out a bit on the drier side and felt like it was missing that extra punch to bring it all together. We wrapped up with Hazelnut Chocolate bonbons, which were a nice, sweet finish to the meal. We went in not overly hungry, but between the apps, pizza, and dessert, it ended up being more than enough. Overall, it's easy to see why this place has a strong local following. Definitely a spot I'd recommend, especially if you're in or around Eastchester.

I opted for water as my grandson did and his fiancé order a glass of white wine. It was Sauvignon Blanc, and she found very satisfying. For an appetizer, we shared a truffle pizza. It was a different flavor that I never had before, but very tasty. For entrees they ordered a sliced steak and chicken parm. I went for the seared duck with mushroom gravy. I never had duck served this way. I really really enjoyed it. No one wanted a dessert so my grandson ordered espresso and I ordered a cappuccino. The waitress brought us thin slices of powdered sugar biscotti as a compliment. The ambience is quiet and cozy and dimly lit with an electric light on each table. On the menu it mentions like this restaurant is a sister location of Cafe Alia, also in Scarsdale. This was an excellent choice for Thursday night. You won't be disappointed.Sal E. New Rochelle

Any restaurant that has thrived for more than four decades must be doing something right, and after…read moremy recent visit, it was easy to understand why. From the warm hospitality to the outstanding food, this was one of those dining experiences that leaves a lasting impression. If you're looking for a great excuse to visit midweek, be sure to stop by on Wine Wednesdays, when bottles of wine are half price. It's the perfect opportunity to gather with friends, unwind, and enjoy a leisurely Italian dinner without breaking the bank. Now, let's talk about the food. The standout of the evening was, without question, the double-cut grilled pork chop with vinegar peppers. This wasn't just a good pork chop--it was the best pork chop I've ever eaten. Expertly grilled with a beautiful char on the outside, it remained incredibly juicy and tender on the inside. It was finished with a rich brown sauce and tangy vinegar peppers that added just the right amount of acidity and depth, creating a perfectly balanced dish. The entrée included a choice of pasta or potatoes and vegetables, and I'm so glad I chose the latter. The real mashed potatoes were creamy, buttery, and clearly homemade, while the grilled broccoli and string beans were cooked perfectly--tender with just enough bite remaining. To start, we ordered the Clams Casino special. These were far from the typical version topped with a small amount of bacon and breadcrumbs. Each clam was generously stuffed with a flavorful seasoned breadcrumb mixture and baked to perfection. Served alongside warm seeded Italian bread, it made for an excellent beginning to the meal. The bread was fresh, crusty, and ideal for soaking up every last bit of sauce. My husband ordered the egg battered lemon sole in a white wine butter sauce, and it looked just as impressive as it tasted. The delicate fish was coated in a light egg batter that created a solid exterior while keeping the sole moist and flaky. Accompanying the dish was a generous bowl of penne tossed with garlic and oil, a simple preparation that allowed the quality of the ingredients to shine. Both entrées were served with fresh side salads dressed with a perfectly balanced oil-and-vinegar dressing. One bite immediately brought back memories of the simple, delicious salads my grandmother used to make--fresh, flavorful, and never overdressed. The restaurant itself is tucked away in a small plaza, making it feel like a hidden gem. During the warmer months, guests can take advantage of the spacious outdoor patio, complete with umbrellas and comfortable seating. It provided the perfect setting for a relaxing summer evening filled with great food, good wine, and wonderful company. I left happy, completely satisfied, and already planning my next visit. Mamma Assunta has earned its reputation over the years, and after this meal, I can confidently say it's a place I'll be returning to again and again. There is meter street parking as well as an outdoor municipal right across the street.
