Linguini Ciccio

A wonderful ambiance, very kind service, and delicious food. I had the Linguine Ciccio which was delicious!

This is located about 10-12 minutes walk from the Hilton. The walk over to here is not well lit and can feel sketch, but Quebec seems to be one of the safest cities I've been to. They close at 9pm and the restaurant is on the small side. They were able to accommodate 9 of us. The food was very good and worth the walk over. The portions were pretty average and the prices was not that bad. I would probably say the carbonara was the best dish. The linguine Ciccio was a close second. The lemon spaghetini is a little heavy on the lemon side and needs more sauce to it. It's still good though, but not my go to. Service was great and attentive.

First time at Ciccios and, if we lived in Quebec City, we'd be back often. Nicely hidden away from the touristy sites, it serves outstanding Italian food. We ordered the pasta carbonara, the linguine with shells (vongole), the pasta carbonara, the linguine Ciccio and the tomato sauce pasta. The food was worthy of any Italian trattoria I've ever been to. For dessert, we had the profiteroles and they were very good. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The ambience was very Italian, except maybe for the 60s and 70s pop music. Street parking but not hard to find given the out of the way location. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

This place rocked. There are other Italian places in the area but stop your search and come here. Looked at Yelp and saw that people felt the same. This is a hidden gem atop a hill with generous portions, good service, and awesome food. Definitely was enough to share across 3 people! If you're in the Quebec area, please make this a stop of yours! The Lemon pasta is delicious!

I was in quebec city for the weekend and I found this hidden italian restaurant away from touristy area. It was located on the hill, however, it was worth the walk to the restaurant. The servers here were very friendly and accommodating. We didnt have reservation but I called ahead around 5pm and they were able to get us in. So definitely try going early if you dont have reservation. We got calamari for appetizer and this was the best calamari because it melted in our mouths. We also got chicken alfredo and seafood pasta and they were so delicious. It felt like I was in italy as i was eating this pasta. Chicken alfredo was super creamy and seafood pasta was white wine based and it was full of seafood. For dessert, we got crème brûlée and affogato and it was absolutely amazing. If i were to come back to quebec city, Ill come back for this delicious italian food. If you are in the area, please visit! It is so worth it.

The best fettuccine alfredo you've ever had.

This is one of the best hidden gems/Italian places I've ever been too. The food (fettuccine alfredo for me) was so creamy and delicious. Just wow. The service was very nice and funny, and brought out a 2-foot long pepper grinder. Got to love it. From the neon sign catching your attention from down the street outside this beautiful little place to the classy tables and pictures of Marylin Monroe on the inside, this place was awesome!!!! I will go here every time I'm in La Vieille Capitale!!!!

The service is impeccable. Food was amazing. The lemon pepper pasta was outstanding and we all agreed it was the best dish.

They fit us in on a Friday night with an 8pm reservation. We were having trouble finding some place to eat so we were grateful. The restaurant was cute with a very mellow vibe. We were a party of 4 and we ordered the rice balls and fried cheese squares. We did not like either. I personally ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and I'd give it 2 stars. The chicken tasted like it was from a can. Others tried it at my table and all said the same. Also, it wasn't very flavorful as a whole. My husband ordered the steak and fries and really liked it. One friend ordered the veal Parmesan and said it was very good, the other ordered two entrees to try. He ordered the spaghetti in meat sauce which was really good and the carbonara which wasn't great, at all. For dessert we tried the crème brûlée. It wasn't great. All in all, we wanted to love this place because of the reviews and everyone was so kind, but in our opinion it really fell short in flavor, but certainly not in service or atmosphere.

Amazing little spot off the main streets! If you got a craving for some really delicious Italian eats, this could be the place for you! As usual, my fellow yelpers put me on the right path. We tried the carbonara and the duo du chef where the chef picks to pastas for you to try instead of ordering one full dish. :) I like the element of surprise and we really enjoyed what they brought out for us! The service was extremely attentive. They don't really dedicate one server per table which works well when all of them work so well as a team. Every table was well taken care of with water, service, billing, etc. Smoothest dinner we've had in a while and all the staff, by the way, are amazing!!! Its a really cute dining spot that's great for small tables. Date night anyone??

Great little Italian gem just off of rue St Jean! Yelp led us to this spot, and as usual, we were not disappointed. This is a tiny restaurant with maybe 10 or 12 tables and a small bar, which lends to an excellent ambiance. I speak French, but my wife and daughter don't, and they were so happy that our host and servers both spoke English. We were excited to see that suppli (arancini siciliani) was on the appetizer list. Suppli is a deep fried risotto ball filled with meat sauce with a mozzarella ball in the middle. These were much smaller than what they serve in Italy, sans the mozzarella ball in the middle, but still very good, as the cheese is mixed with the risotto for a very creamy bite of goodness. For our main courses, we had the Linguini Ciccio, the Fettuccini Alfredo, and the Spaghetti Carbonara. All 3 were fantastic! The pasta was so fresh, and the sauces were smoothly divine. Incredible flavor! This is the best Italian food that we've had in a long time - probably since being in Italy. Compliments to the chef, as well as to the front of the house, for their excellent service.

We came here on a rainy day and it was definitely and older crowd, very chill and relaxing music. Decorated more old-school with darker colors. Do not recommend the crab cakes - not very flavorful and pretty dry. I did however like my smoked salmon pasta and it was a large portion. Nothing memorable, but good for standard Italian food.

The service at this little cafe is amazing. We came on a Saturday night at 8pm and it was packed - so you know this is a popular spot for Italian food. We weren't that hungry so we ordered the calamari, the caprese salad and an order of their prosciutto, capers and olive penne. We shared the pasta and to our surprise, the chef brought us two plates with the pasta already separated! The calamari and salad tasted amazing and full of flavour. The pasta wasn't bad, but I found it a little too salty for my liking. I don't think it was the restaurant's fault, it was just a dish that didn't suit my tastebuds. Water was always refilled and they came to check in on us every so often.

The servers here seem to work in tandem helping out wherever needed so we had two different people waiting on us throughout our meal which was cool! To start off with drinks we ordered a limoncello spritz and a fruitatto spritz. The fruit one was by far my favorite, but I'd also dangerous because you could drink them all day like water lol. The limoncello was delicious as well, just be mindful if you're not a limoncello person or have had it before that it'll be a strong flavor when you sip it! For our food we shared the Parmesan truffle fries as an appetizer, the Spag pollo (pasta with chicken, tomatoes, and veggies), and the 1608 flatbread (bechamel sauce, mushrooms, bacon, 1608 cheese, rosemary). Everything we had was so delicious & I even drizzled some spicy oil on top of the pizza which really elevated the flavor! If you're ever visiting Quebec City you have to check this place out!

I wasn't too hungry so I ordered an app for my entree, the bruschetta. It came loaded with seasoned tomato pieces. Hubby ordered the pasta with clams in a spicy sauce. There was a misunderstanding with his meal. When hubby asked questions about the carbonara, our server thought he ordered the carbonara when he actually decided on the pasta with clams. When the wrong meal was brought over, our server escalated to his manager who then offered to exchange his meal. They kept apologizing for the mixup but honestly, they already handled it well by replacing it without issues. The pasta dish was so good! We arrived on time and waited maybe 5 minutes before being seated. All the outdoor tables were full so the two of us sat at a low 4-top inside not far from the kitchen. Water was brought right away. Our server then took our drink, appetizer and entree orders. We each had a pint of Stella beer on draft and we shared an order of their Focaccia bread, served with butter and a dish of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The beer was cold and because it was draft, not from a green bottle, no skunk smell or taste :) The Focaccia bread isn't what we make in the States, but it was find. More of a soft, yet dense bread, topped with herbs. For $3 CAN, it was a deal. Later on, the Casesar salad was brought out. It was a generous portion and was plenty for the two of us to split. The dressing was tasty as was the shaved Parmesan cheese and the house made croutons. Later, our Cannelloni entree came. It was in an oval dish that had been baked. The full order came with 2 Cannellonis. Here again, plenty for two people to share. It was stuffed with a meat and cheese mixture. We were too full to be tempted by their dessert menu. Our friends arrive from the US in a couple of days, so we've made another reservation here at Portofino for the four of us. The only downside to Portofino was that it is popular and busy, so it was a bit loud inside.
