    Mild buffalo wings

My boyfriend and I recently moved to South Plainfield and we were in the mood for some pizza. We've heard that Ciccio's is one of the best in town so we decide to given them a try. We ordered a pepperoni pie and mild buffalo wings. The pizza was pretty standard. I wouldn't call them the best but it satisfies a craving. We really loved the wings! They had a good flavor to them. Very close and convenient to home. I would order from here again.

One of the BEST pizzeria's around. They use all fresh ingredients. Pretty much anything you order from their menu is AMAZING! We drive 40 min to just enjoy a good slice of pizza or a fabulous grilled chicken sandwich. The staff is amazing. Family owned and operated. They are very welcoming to make everyone feel like family! Highly recommend if you're looking to eat amazing food!

Decent local spot. Only tried the plain and pepperoni pizza slices. The pizza was good. Your standard thin slice pizza. Slightly greasy and a good balance of sauce & cheese. Tables are taped off for social distancing dine in as well. Good solid spot. I'll try there other slices next time.

Pizza in the park- Sausage and White Excellent!

First time stopping by, I was looking for something to have for lunch while I enjoyed the sunny day in Spring Lake Park since I happened to be in the area. They had a nice assortment of slices available so I went with my usual favorites the white and a sausage. I thought it was a bargain $6 and change with a drink included. The woman at the counter was very friendly too! When I finally ate my pizza at the park it was crisp and delicious. Now I definitely know where to go for pizza when I'm back in the area. Definitely recommend!!!

No idea how long Ciccios has been open but I have been coming here for over 30 years. This is what you think of when you think of a local pizza place. Lots of table for people to hang out and order a slice, a friendly staff not to mention all the standards for an Italian restaurant. They make a good pizza but I really come here for their dinners. I love the eggplant parm or chicken parm, and they have really good meatballs.

Penne vodka with chicken. Very simple.

Typical local pizza place. Haven't tried anything out of this world. Pizza, Stromboli, and calzones are all good. I've gotten pasta dishes a few times which were just okay. The staff is always very friendly. Plenty of parking in the lot.

I ordered @ 9:15pm on Sunday and they treated it as I ordered 5 mins after opening. No matter what you need they least treat every order like it's a family order. The food is great and the pizza is off the chain. The family is straight from Italy and they make the food like they are back home. Each pasta dish is made to order and nothing is mass produced. It's just real comfort Italian. I asked for extra fresh Mozzarella and basil and without question it was done.

    Personalized Margharita pizza.

Over the years I have heard nothing but good from friends -- "Excellent" "Exactly like they make it in Florence!" "Best Italian food I've ever tasted." I went with a party of four. For appetizers we split the Polpo E Patate (grilled octopus & potatoes) and Patate Fritte (French fries). The octopus was amazing, tender almost like perfect scallops with a tasty pesto. The French fries with herbs, garlic bread crumbs and pesto were crunchy, tasty, delicious. For mains my companions had Branzino with eggplant carponata, an amazing 4-cheese Gnocchi, and swordfish. I tasted all, and all were spot on; everyone loved their main course. I had Linguini Vongole (clams and linguini); the clams were perfect - tender and tasty; but the star of the show was the homemade linguine, seasoned perfectly and cooked to al dente perfection. We finished with cappuccino and Tiramasu. The service was excellent. Attentive and quick, and our waitress, Merin, was able to answer every question about the menu with authority, and even about the ingredients and preparation. The ambiance is understated, relaxed, and what you hope for when enjoying a special meal. I am quite stingy in passing out 5-Star ratings; I reserve them for the best of the best, for restaurants where I'm confident readers will also enjoy an outstanding meal. Mangia Toscano is clearly 5-Star; it is *the* must-do restaurant in Metuchen.

It was clear they were severely understaffed, and we were largely ignored until one of them finally said, "I will check on your table." The food was okay. The bread? Their stock answer was humorous after hearing it recites by all three servers: "It's in the oven" I guess practice makes perfect. Standard salad with balsamic, same as every mid pizza/food place I have been before. Red snapper special was way tough on the outside, like chewing leather that you never would really want to eat?! Best thing here was the pork chop, sweet spicy peppers, with onions yummy brown sauce, although the pork was a tad overdone. Overall, this place is a pass.

An excellent way to ring in my Womb Exit Anniversary. My top-tier chum who literally went to the…read moreschool of hospitality brought me here last Sunday for a birthday dinner. I picked it knowing the solid rep of Jessica's Cafe in Plainfield, so I can't say I was stunned to find out this was awesome - but given the expectations coming in, this probably even slightly exceeded them. Pretty cool. This was literally my first time in Fanwood, unless you count taking the Raritan Valley Line through here to Hunterdon County back in the day (I don't think it counts). The weather was a little iffy throughout the day, which I'm assuming played a factor in the town feeling a little desolate when we showed up. It reminds me a lot of the Newport neighborhood in JC - super, super gentrified. Maybe it's just the section where Jessica's is though, right across the street from the train station. We parked over there, not entirely sure if that was naughty or not, but given our outdoor seating, we easily could have peeped a cop or tow truck driver before anything terrible happened (I think it was fine, given it was a Sunday night). All that to say though, I'm not entirely sure where the ideal parking is if it's not at the train station. We were only in the restaurant for a minute (enough time to ogle a fridge or freezer of tasty looking meat to the right of the entrance), so I can't speak to the spiffiness of the interior. Even though rain was a possibility, it seemed worth the risk to stay outside due to the temps and large umbrellas. No regrets in that regard. We were seated promptly and ordered shortly thereafter, while also receiving some decent bread and butter with a bit of olive oil drizzle. Quite tasty. Somehow it's become an informal tradition, but if it's on the menu we usually get the Grilled Octopus. One of the better ones we've had. Nice and crispy (texture to me is the key to this one) and seasoned well. The accompanying potatoes were a nice touch to the proceedings - would totally get this again. A lot of the other apps looked good too, but someone accidentally made me birthday weenies on the grill earlier, so I couldn't get QUITE as frisky as I normally would. Both of us gave the lamb a long, hard look (and my chum wondered aloud about the ribeye special for the rest of the evening - possibly the one that got away) but I ultimately went with my classic Short Ribs entree. Delicious. Tender, flavorful and the perfect serving size. I was a little nervous that a puree versus mashed would mean the potatoes were too wet or liquidy, but not the case at all - they maintained their relatively solid integrity as far as I was concerned. I forgot to take a picture of dessert, but I got the Creme Brule. Also excellent, and at the perfect temp. I think there may have been a birthday musical accompaniment with that, but it's all a blur. Arguably just as good if not better was the service. Our waiter was super personable and professional, stopping by regularly and just added a hospitable touch to the meal that brought this to the upper echelon for me. Service is king, and it matters - you can't take for granted the ability of your server to essentially riff for two minutes on their menu knowledge, as well as just good-natured banter. Had that in spades. Coming back for sure - Womb Exit Anniversary or not.
