    Dirt dust and mold
    Alex D.

The cashier was very nice and very professional. After I walked in I realize there were ceiling tiles missing over part of the buffet area. When I spoke with the manager about the possible issues of dust and dirt falling from the open area in the cieling on to the food he did not seem concerned. The response he gave me was "That's what the sneeze guard is for dirt and dust can't fall on the food." After this I looked around the building there was condensation dripping from every air conditioning duct. As well as most of the tiles around the vents had mold growing on them!

Welcome to CiCi's!......Most people have heard this phrase upon entering this establishment. This is your basic pizza buffet joint. At any time, they have about a dozen or so types of pizza on the bar, along with a very basic salad bar, an Alfredo and red sauce pasta (spaghetti or penne) selection, and a few desert pizza concoctions. Most of the pizza is what I would call thin crust. I've had better pizza, much better pizza...but if I want pizza that is quick and not to heavy on the wallet, I will go here every now and then. Of the inexpensive buffet places I will go to, this one does a better job in keeping the restaurant clean and the food fresh (most of the time). They usually have someone attending the pizza so no kids (or adults) touch all over everything. All of their precautions still cannot ward against the occasional patron that disregards the fact that they are not in their own house and scratches their rear end before serving themselves a slice. Which I have seen an adult do before and immediately lost all appetite and walked out (under their sweatpants, by the way). It took me a long time to get the nerve to go back, and I now scan the crowd of eaters first for suspects. I've never done it myself, but if you want a special pizza that you don't see on the buffet, they will put together anything you wish within reason. I don't know how long that would take, I'm guessing about 10-15 minutes, I just never camped out that long enough to try it myself. Although 2.5 stars might be appropriate, I'll drop them down to a two because like the rating says...."Meh..I've experienced better".

So then you have to walk quite some distance to get to the elevators... find you no one is helping you carry the bags nor was there a cart to use. of course the room is very end of the hall, but not a problem. However, the room did have a fly in it. Not sure where it went. I then looked room service and there is what you have to scan QR code that brings up a website that doesn't work very well, so you have to reload it several times. Once over that hump there's only one restaurant that is open at 8:20 PM. And you can't order room service from anywhere else. What the hell? OK so instead of wrestling with the Bad website, I decided to go down and order to go. Mind you I didn't see that you could do this from the Room Room or the QR code website. I have to look it up on a different website. So I go down there and the single restaurant that was open was pretty unimpressive. After I ordered and paid for mine to go, I saw bug crawling across the counter. Once back in my room, there was a mosquito in there I mean again what the hell? As I ate the pad Thai, it really wasn't all that good so I don't even know how this place is making money except for the gambling. And there is a place to get money at every turn you make. I would like to never stay here again.

From the outside, it looks like a rundown strip mall storefront with limited parking, the kind of place you might drive right past. But the lot was packed, and that told us everything we needed to know something good was happening inside. Walking in, we found ourselves in a big, old-school dining room filled with a handful of tables and chairs, every single one occupied. The smell of fresh cooked seafood hit us immediately, and I was hungry before we even sat down. Right by the entrance was a rack of local, hand-painted tourist knick knacks for sale, adding to that authentic, no-frills local charm. A hostess greeted us right away and asked how many were in our party, lucky for us, it was just the two of us, so we didn't have much of a wait. Once seated, our drinks came out shortly after. The menu was refreshingly simple, with just a few special items to choose from which included fresh crab. I headed straight for the grilled section and landed on the grilled fish plate, while my buddy went with the fried fish plate and an order of boudin balls on the side. A fresh salad arrived first, and not long after, our entrees followed. The grilled fish was outstanding, flakes of fresh, moist white fish that practically melted in my mouth like butter. But the real showstopper was the boudin balls, four large ones, about the size of pool balls if not bigger, which we split between us. They had a smoky, perfectly cooked flavor that was so good I made room to finish off more than my share. If you're looking for some of the best seafood in town, you've got to hit Seafood Palace. Don't let the exterior or the location scare you off, inside, it's absolute heaven for your taste buds.

Here's what I had on this lunch visit: The crawfish pistollette (8/10) which was a small appetizer that was bread with some crawfish etouffee on top. Bread was nicely cooked and the etouffee on top was delicious. Solid starter! The Cajun Cooking Sampler (9/10) - this was a sampler with 3 amazing dishes. I got the shrimp and crab gumbo, which is classic Louisiana gumbo and it was outstanding! The sampler also had a bowl of crawfish etouffee which was good but felt it needed a bit more etoufee to mix with the rice. Lastly, the special of the day was fish courtbouillon which was a fish in tomato based sauce over rice. I really enjoyed this as the fish has a great texture and there was a lot of flavor in the sauce. Overall, solid lunch meal in the $ to $$ range depending on what you order. Recommend you trying it for a great Cajun experience!

The bed was nice and soft, pillows fluffy, and the bathroom was spacious. The gym was a typical hotel gym. There was an elliptical, bike, treadmill, and a bench with weights. I only used the treadmill, which seemed a bit old but did its job just fine. Downstairs you will find a Dunkin and pizza place. The Dunkin was perfect for a quick breakfast. The egg bites came out piping hot and were delicious. The latte was standard. The customer service was great. The pizza place is meh. Thick crust, thick layer if cheese, not many toppings. Starting with the atmosphere -- when we were seated, the table was noticeably sticky, which immediately set the wrong tone. The overall space felt dated, and several tables showed visible wear, including warped wood. It gave the impression that maintenance and upkeep may not be a priority. We decided to move forward and hope the food would make up for it. The quality itself wasn't terrible, but it wasn't memorable either -- fairly average and not something we'd go out of our way for. The biggest issue was the portion size and service flow. The sushi arrived in very small increments -- two pieces at a time -- with long pauses in between. It made the meal feel disjointed and unnecessarily drawn out. For the price point, the portions were extremely small, and I actually left hungry, which rarely happens. For three people, the bill ended up being over $125 (including a couple of beers), which felt steep considering the portion sizes and overall experience. I understand how challenging the restaurant business can be, and this isn't written to be harsh -- just honest. There's potential here, but improvements in cleanliness, presentation, portion sizing, and service pacing would make a significant difference. With several dining options in the area, I would likely explore other restaurants during our stay.
