Oren delivered on all of his promises. The crew appeared on the property on time each and every day without failure. Oren said the work would be done in two weeks but they actually got it done in one week then used a few more days to put the finishing touches and left the property spotless at the end of the project.. Our next project is a kitchen remodel and we are definitely going to use CID to do this work. We have had lots of work done to our property and CID is by far superior to all other companies that we have hired in the past. The bathroom took a bit longer to finish than we wanted, though, because the had one poor guy working on it alone, but the end result is fantastic. The Patio enclosure took only a day to put up and it looks great. In January CID Builders rebuilt our kitchen completely. We couldn't be more pleased with the result. The price was competitive though not the cheapest. Ron was extremely helpful from start to finish. He was also always available and paid attention to all the details. Fily and his team worked very hard and were very friendly and clean. I have had major problems in the past with contractors not respecting the property and not cleaning up properly. CID have restored my faith that there are contractors out there that do take care with their work. Even after completion we had some minor issues with small blemishes etc. One phone call to Ron and everything was sorted with someone on our doorstop to take care of it the next morning. I worked with Ron at CID Builders. I wanted to have a proper double sink cabinet made and electrical wiring moved into my master bathroom. The prior owners designed a beautiful master bathroom, but there was only a single sink, with another sink just outside the bathroom as the vanity area off the bedroom. Ron had a double sink cabinet made to fit the master bathroom perfectly. The cabinet looks fantastic! I had the vanity area removed and had a closet made in its place. That was done very well also. I must say that Ron responded to all my calls and texts very timely. I was never ignored by Ron, and when there was an issue, it was resolved with no problem with Ron right on top of it. I was shopping around to get bids for a backyard job. I checked with 5 other licensed contractors the bids were all over the place. I had CID call me back to follow up on their bid. After some discussion Ron Darmon came back to review the bid and give me an update from the company's previous bid. Having Ron there and reviewing everything was great compared to any salesman padding his commissions. Remember I had 5 other companies come and bid and the time it took just to find a good contractor was difficult. Once the contract was signed and his team came to work, things moved along very quickly. I observed that Ron came there to oversee the work multiple times. Where can you get that service of oversight nowadays. The job was pavers and repair of a retaining wall. They had the work finished on time as Ron stated, actually even sooner! CID recently replaced an aging wood pergola in my backyard with a beautiful new one made of alumawood. Additionally, the concrete slab that supported it was also replaced with pavers that gives the yard a much-needed updated look. The construction was timely and the crew professional, clean and friendly. We did have a permit delay but Ben from CID was on top of it. He had many frustrating days with the city but was always professional and courteous and great at keeping me informed. We recently moved into a home that needed a tub remodel to accommodate my mother. It previously contained an 18 inch alcove tub (which was too high for my mom to use) and we needed to re-tile it into a shower. We interviewed several contractors for the job and ultimately chose another contractor. I had made an appointment with CID builders and later canceled it after we signed the contract with someone else. CID called me later that day and asked if they could take a look at the job and give us a more competitive price. I was surprised, but agreed. Ron, one of the owners, arrived exactly when he said he would and gave us a better deal than any of the other contractors we had met with. We hired him on the spot and work began two days later. Called Ron Darmon in for an estimate for an extensive job involving a shower remodeling, tiling from front door to the kitchen, refinishing cabinets and other work. He evaluated the scene, gave an estimate, along with start and end dates on his very first visit. We signed a contract wherein he identified the progress payment dates and amounts. He did not miss a date! He has outstanding people working for him and they seem to take pride in their work, like Ron. He would visit not infrequently to make everything was proper, on target, exchange pleasantries and move on. A few minor issues which popped up were fixed to our complete satisfaction. It has been over three months since the completion of the project and we don't have a single complaint. The oddest thing happened when I tried to book an appointment for an estimate with CID. They turned me down because my wife was unable to be present! Wow. I was completely shocked. My wife has a work schedule that prohibits her from making such appointments, and to be frank, she just doesn't want to. Aren't we supposed to be in a recession? You'd think a small business would be delighted to have a new customer, especially since we had a lot more work in mind for the right contractor. I can only guess the reason this company insists on having "wives" present; religious, ideological, who knows. My husband and I have been dreaming of a patio cover for years. We've been going back and forth on a design because we couldn't agree between a covered patio or a lattice covered one. When we finally reached a compromise and a design, and after getting quotes from other contractors, we decided to go with Ron and his crew. We had to undergo a few design tweaks because of the architecture of our existing house but Ron did everything he could to make our design happen. We wanted the pitch of the covered roof to be higher and city building codes won't allow it because it would hit our bedroom window. He offered to change the whole window at no cost to us at all. The whole process took a little longer than expected but that was because me and my husband are very picky with the kind of window we wanted (which had to be special ordered), but Ron accommodated that as well. We had a small misunderstanding with the type of wood to use for the patio cover but that was partly our fault. We didn't specify the wood in the contract (lesson learned). Ron did add waterproofing and staining of the wood as add on to make us happy. Plus the wood they used was similar to the wood we wanted and top grade, so we were satisfied in the end. I wanted big wood too and he delivered on that as well. My husband would have the crew add things here and there, and they were always accommodating. Overall, the project went down smoothly and we're very happy with to finish product. I have already recommended Ron to family members for their projects. read more

We have known Mr. Oren Amar since November 2013 when we hired CID Builders to resurface a retaining wall, create a bench within the wall, and construct a fire pit for our backyard. We had a great experience with Ron and his crew. We had an all-concrete back patio, rotting wooden posts holding up the covered part of the patio and a crumbling driveway. Ron worked with us to come up with the optimal design and layout of the patio, and quickly agreed to replace the posts and fix the driveway at a reasonable cost. When issues with paver design arose, Ron was very patient and worked with us until we arrived at the pavers that we wanted installed. The result was far better than I envisioned and the professionalism, workmanship and project management, under the direction of Ben Dottan, was perfect. I told Ben what I wanted, what I wanted to pay, and when I hoped for the project to be done and he made sure that everything happened on time and for the price I asked for. He guided me to make design decisions and he came over every day to check the work and progress made. He also made sure that I was only charged what we agreed upon and when my design choices changed and were less expensive than the original plan, he gave me the price adjustment without my having to ask for it. The people Ben contracted with to do the actual work were kind and professional as well, often working late into the evening to make sure that everything was ready for the next day's work. I knew Ron was the right choice for us after interviewing several contractors that looked at our tiny house in Van Nuys and our tiny budget and didn't laugh or look down their nose at us. Ron was also the only contractor who would allow us to customize and have his team install, having one of the guys put together the Ikea sink vanity was worth the price alone ! Everyone that came into our house was polite and respectful, Ron took care of the permits, he was always there on call or text when we had a hundred questions and when we made a drastic mistake with a paint choice, he had it repainted at no extra cost. Scheduled an appointment for room addition and full house remodelling. First call, they didn't want to schedule an appointment if my husband was not with me. Then a week later they call and said they can come in and do estimate. After I have scheduled the day and time, they did not show up. That was Wednesday. The following Friday, they called to schedule and insisted to come in for an estimate and bid (project at least 300k+), when I told them I waited Wednesday and did not get a courtesy call to cancel, the person on the other line lied and said they did leave me a message to re-schedule. I told the person on the other line if this is the way they will do business and cannot communicate I don't have time to work with them. Before I could finish the next sentence, I heard a bang on the other line. They hanged up on me! Wow, if this is the service, I was so glad I didn't have to work with this company. read more
