As a professional in the hospitality field, using Yelp to communicate my complaints with a company is an absolute last resort. That said, I am so incredibly disappointed and --quite honestly-- appalled -- at both the "cleaning" and customer service that I received today that I wanted to write a review in the hopes that others will be discouraged from using Cida and instead choose to invest in a company that both values their experience and will deliver on their promises. Today was my third time using Cida so I had developed a certain trust for the employees and the company and chose to pay cash in advance and leave while they went about their work. If you chose to ignore anything else I say-- DO NOT MAKE THIS SAME MISTAKE. I live in a small one bedroom apartment and had asked (and paid) for a deep cleaning (150 including tip) which in the past has been relatively extensive and overall worth it. Today, however, I returned to find my baseboards untouched, my shower doors and shower not touched, my kitchen counters NOT TOUCHED, the area behind my couch not swept, my windowsills not touched, numerous surfaces not wiped down, hair on my floor? (its almost impossible to believe as I write it, I know) .. truly it looked as if they spent less than five minutes here. I immediately sent Cida a text and she was initially responsive, agreeing that it was "absolutely unacceptable" and offering to come back ...except--one problem-- only on her terms. I had to leave for work and could not be available for the times she offered and, as I continued to find areas that were completely ignored, I opted to ask for a refund. Cida not only refused to send me a refund (after looking at multiple pictures and using the exclamatory "WOW!" in response to what she saw) but also stopped responding when I continued to ask how we could possibly resolve this and if they could come at another time outside of today. Please, please, please, I urge you to look elsewhere before using this cleaning company and, if I could attach the pictures, I promise you wouldn't think twice before doing so. (oh wait, just realized I can.. and will do so in spite of being slightly embarrassed about the state of my apartment but it speaks volumes AND thats why I hired cleaners) read more

Updating my review and I will tell you why, cleaning alone they deserve 5 stars but unfortunate events have given them 1. At first Cida's crew was fantastic and efficient, trustworthy, the best I could possibly ask for. Then I noticed things missing, some of my clothing items, and then watched a member of her staff walk out with 3 rolls of my paper towels (this staff member is the same size as me and approximately the same age as me, after I watched her walk out with some items I strongly suspect she had taken some of my clothing), 3 cans of comet went missing, and my own cleaning items that I purchased for my home for my use had been used. I also noticed that someone had been in my closet which I've never had a cleaning crew go inside my closet. I cannot prove what I didn't actually see happening but whatever. Another time when different members of her crew came to my home I found my thermostat on and the heat blowing like mad mid summer with my air-conditioners going!!!!! Wonderful, oil isn't a free commodity and is pricey! Although that team did do an outstanding job cleaning. This is ultimately when I decided to discontinue service with Cida, it's unfortunate because again they do a phenomenal and thorough cleaning job and Cida had been absolutely WONDERFUL to deal with, but I do not trust her staff in my home. I hate to write a negative review but I do not feel that I would be doing my due diligence if I did not update it. read more

Well, things started off pretty well with Cida's cleaning service (I have been using them for seven plus months). However, over time, her "cleaning girls" became less and less thorough with their cleaning and would leave certain areas obviously caked with dirt. And to top that off, their timing and consistency became very unreliable. Sometimes the cleaning girls would not show up at all on the day they were appointed to come (and I would have to text Cida to see why her girls had not come to clean), and other times (most all of the time) the cleaning girls would come at a completely different time than the time Cida texted me they would arrive. The final straw with this cleaning service was today when the girls showed up much earlier than the appointed time Cida said they would arrive (again) and they called my cell phone SEVEN times asking to be let in. They also text messages me four times. When I saw the missed calls, I wrote back to Cida saying her girls must have come too early again, and that I had asked a neighbor to give the cleaning girls a key at the appointed time. Well, this is where it gets ridiculous ... both Cida and her cleaning girls start texting me that I was lying and making up stories and they saw my neighbor who did not give them a key. Um, I have multiple neighbors in my building, not just one. I continue to be harassed with these text messages ALL DAY calling me a liar, and telling me I am making up stories and not appreciating their hard work (obviously I am not even responding). WHAT? If you want a total crazy and unreliable cleaning service that stalks you and hurls insults at you via text, then go ahead and hire Cida. Otherwise, I would suggest you shop the market for someone pleasant and reliable like I will be doing. read more

After reading all these positive reviews on Yelp, I was super excited to get my brand new apartment cleaned by Cida's crew. However, I was less than pleased with the results. There was no furniture or boxes at all in the apartment and when I talked to Cida on the phone, I told her I would want a very thorough cleaning. We both agreed that this would mean getting inside the oven, the fridge, the closets, and the bathroom. While Cida's crew, two women, arrived on time and spent almost 1.5 hours cleaning, they did not clean inside the fridge, closets, or oven as I had discussed with Cida, and did not do a thorough cleaning at all. It seemed to me like all they did was mop the floors, clean the bathroom, vacuum, and barely dust the window frames. There was still dirt in the pantry, on the vanity, and on the cabinet over the sink...all places which were obvious to clean if you were doing a thorough cleaning. After the women left I did a quick look around and was pretty annoyed that they only did a quick cleaning, and did not do a deep clean as promised. I called Cida and told her that they did not clean in the fridge or the oven, as we had discussed. Cida was very nice and told me that she would send the women back to finish the job. When they arrived, they were very upset that they had to return to clean, which put me in an awkward position. For the price, I do not think I would use Cida's services again and I would not recommend her cleaning service to my friends who live in Boston, Somerville, or Cambridge. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I feel as if I could have done a deeper cleaning myself. UPDATE: 6/3/2011: This morning I received several texts from Cida apologizing for the way in which the women cleaned my apartment. She offered me a free cleaning, which is very thoughtful. I can tell that Cida really cares about her business and the opinion of her customers. Since my apartment is still extremely disorganized (we moved in 2 days ago) I told Cida that I would appreciate it if she sent someone to clean my apartment in a few weeks, once everything was organized, and she agreed. I very much appreciate Cida reaching out to me and I hope the next cleaning goes well! read more

I had my house cleaned last month for the first time. Cida promised me a "deep clean" as it was the initial cleaning for my house. When the team of two arrived, they seemed rushed and did not have the patience to listen carefully to all of the areas/furniture I wanted cleaned. As they were professionals, I quickly showed her the areas as she let me and let them do their thing. They cleaned my huge house within 30 minutes and when I went to check that all of the areas were actually cleaned, some things that I showed them were not. The carpets and floors were clean because they used a high power vacuum. The bedroom furniture was dusted and organized. I appreciated both of these things being cleaned nicely. However, it all went downhill when it came to dusting. I noticed that they did not dust/wipe any of the glass tables in my two living rooms or dust my leather couches as I had requested. When I pointed this out to them, they seemed a little aggravated and did a quick dust in less than 10 minutes. 10 minutes to dust two living rooms? Not even I can do that when I'm in a rush. After that, I requested them to sweep/mop my 2nd kitchen's floor because they "forgot" to do it initially before they claimed to be done. This too was done in a rush and was supposedly finished in less than 5 minutes. One thing that bothered me about the overall process was the moping. I caught one of the women pouring down the dirty water down my kitchen sink. I'm sorry but I cook and wash the food that I eat in that sink and don't want dirt all over it. I would've appreciated them ask me where to dump the dirty water rather than just go to the nearest sink and dump it there without asking my preference. At this point, I was just fed up at how rushed the two of them seemed so after they once again claimed to be done, I just let them go. I didn't want people in my house who didn't seem like they were 100% focused on their job. After the two of them left, I looked again in detail, I noticed the vacuuming job was also just mediocre- there were still pieces of random stuff in corners of the floor, etc. which really bothered me. All of these things were not what I would consider a "deep clean" by any means. It seemed like a job that was either taken last minute and squeezed in just to make the money or that I got a bad team. I'm really not sure what to make of it because I picked Cida's based on the amazing reviews her team got. No show at all. We tried to communicate through emails at least two weeks in advanced and even the night before to make sure they were coming at 2pm appt time. Cida told us that they might show up around 2-2:30pm, which was no big deal. I had been waiting them for an hour on that day and called them but apparently no one speak English on the phone. At 4pm, after two hours of our original appointment time, they called us that their girls were waiting outside of our new place, which I already left. For $200-$250 estimate cleaning services for two hours, the basic simple rule is to show up or some courtesy to call for some changes. How difficult it is?!!! read more

We had tried a few cleaning services, particularly through discount websites. Turns out they outsource... and it's sketchy. In one instance, we had someone clean the house and it was awful. So we complained, the company didn't pay the woman, and the woman had our numbers so she started leaving harassing voicemails for myself and my pregnant wife saying she got the job on Craigslist and wants her money. Needless to say, we needed a better (and safer) service. So I scoured the web (and Yelp) and found Cida's. It seemed like most people were elated at the quality of work, and that she didn't outsource. So I reached out and Cida was very accommodating right away. She communicated with me by email mostly since that was most convenient for me. We arranged for a deep cleaning at the first appointment. It ended up taking a few girls a few hours to do our 3-bed 2.5-bath townhouse... and it was pricey... but it was worth every penny. It literally looked and smelled like a different house. And everything felt clean. They got every nook - in the oven, in the fridge, and every inch of grout! Since then, we have maintenance cleanings done every three to four weeks that are less deep but also much less expensive (more in line with what I would pay normally to any random service). The quality continues to be high, and the girls that work for Cida are extremely competent, friendly and earnest. I have since recommended Cida's to a number of friends and colleagues and I don't think I'll use another service any time soon. My advice if you're looking for a cleaning service? Do your homework. Know who you're hiring and how they work. Look up reviews. And most importantly, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. And it's worth a few extra bucks when people are in your home, being trusted with all your stuff. That's just my two cents. read more

Let me start by saying I never hired anyone to clean my home. I recently had a baby, and had guests coming to visit me, so I didn't really have the time to do a deep cleaning of my place. I never thought I could trust the standards of a home cleaning company, but after seeing the high reviews for Cida's House Cleaning, i thought i'd give it a try. I sent Cida an email, and got a response within hours after. We set up a time on a Saturday and told her if they can come earlier than the scheduled time to just let me know. She told me that they will try, but most likely they won't be able to come earlier. I was fine with that. I waited for the crew, and realized it was 15 minutes past when they should've arrived. I sent Cida a text (as she said I could text, email or call her). The text returned to me saying it was a landline. I thought that was weird. Soon after, I recieved an email from Cida saying the crew was running late, and they would be there soon. Luckily, I happened to be checking my email. Otherwise I would've been sitting there wondering what had happened. Needless to say, they were an hour late. I wasn't happy. Once I met the crew, I felt alot better. They were very nice, and it was probably a team of 4-5 women. I have a 900 sf condo, so i thought, wow, all these people to come clean my house. This is great and it should be quick. Let me just say, I try my best to be neat and clean. My place needed mopping, dusting, window cleaning etc more than anything else. I made sure alot of things were put away before they arrived to make it easier. I had arranged to also have the refrigerator and oven cleaned and paid $210. They clean around the door frames, clean the actual doors themselves (front and back). Initially Cida had told me they would only clean the inside of the windows, but because my windows tilt they cleaned both sides. Legs of my furniture were dusted. Even the toothbrush holder was cleaned inside and out. Those are little things to explain how thorough the cleaning was. As an extra touch, they even swept the front stair well! I had a few things out (like mail, for instance) that was put in a drawer. I had wished they asked me where they should put things, rather than open any random drawer or cabinet and put them there. I understand they want things to look spotless and organized, but there were a few things I had to look for and found them in places I would never put them. I also think my vacuum is much better than the one they used. The major thing that I found disappointing (and i honestly was afraid of this happening) was i found a large scratch on my coffee table. Most of our furniture is less than 3 years old and mostly bought from Room & Board (not cheap), so to find that really upset me. I contacted Cida, and she apologized but I would've appreciated maybe a discount on the next cleaning. All in all, i would recommend Cida and her crew. They met my expectations (and I have high expectations). read more

"Wow....wow................wow" This is was my mantra as I walked through my house after Cida's cleaning crew got done with my house. I thought I could clean my own house pretty well but.... I wish I had the money to do this on a regular basis. My friends and I expensed this cleaning to one of our employers after a company party at our house. The result was amazing. Not only was the house cleaner than I ever could have gotten it myself (they got my shower curtains clean- my crappy, never cleaned, plastic shower curtains! How?!) but I also noticed my books were neatly arranged, vases and candles were also placed in better places than I had them myself (not all, just some). That may turn some people off, but my house is not only cleaner, but it looks better aesthetically too. So many nice touches that went above and beyond a mere cleaning. I guess they've cleaned so many houses they know how to spruce the place up with a few minor touches. I tipped these great ladies heavily and I'm truly sad a regular cleaning isn't in my budget. What an amazingly easy experience! Cida's definitely delivered a flawless cleaning, and I couldn't be happier with the process. I'll start off by saying that I am from a military family, and clean means **clean**. Since crazy hours at my new job prevented me from keeping my 1BR spic/span (dusting is the bane of my existence), I knew I needed help, but I was scared of breaking the bank for a lackluster job. Not Cida's. I explained my situation via email, and Cida promptly replied with a quote and available dates (no turning back now). She texted me to confirm the appt. a few days in advance, and promptly showed up on the big day with vacuum, supplies, and a helper at the ready! These two women were gregarious and friendly, and they had exceptional attention to detail. One of them dusted the spare change that sat in a pile on my dresser and replaced it in neat little stacks. Yeah, that kind of detail. Two hours later -- Microwave? Spotless. Toaster oven? Spotless. Floor behind the fold-out sofa? You guessed it -- spotless. My endorsement? They left with a spare set of keys to my place so they can come back for discounted "maintenance" cleanings any time I need it. All I have to do is send Cida a text, and my place will look and smell like new! read more

Based on the reviews on Yelp, I hired Cida and her crew to clean my old apartment when I moved out (because seriously, who wants to do a deep cleaning right after moving?). I can't tell you how pleased I was with what they did. They cleaned the grime where furniture and other things had been, they cleaned the bathroom till it was spotless, and they cleaned the areas where the movers had left big messes behind, and at my request they cleaned the inside of the fridge and freezer. And the windows? The windows had literally never been cleaner than they were when they finished. They turned a grimy space into a spotless one that I would have been thrilled to move into! And they were professional, pleasant and inexpensive to boot. My only wish is that I weren't allergic to bleach, ammonia and a lot of other cleaning products so that I could hire them to regularly come and clean my new place. If you're so lucky as to not have this allergy, hire them to come clean regularly - you won't regret it! read more

At first, house cleaners seemed way out of my budget. Wrong. It all has to do with the time saved. One morning a month, a merry crew of two or three wake me out of bed and accomplish what would take me all day before I even go to work. These cleaners are a tornado of efficiency! They also do all sorts of small tasks I would never think of-you need to clean a door? a light switch? Yes you do, and mine have never been cleaner, thanks to Cida's group. Cida is also incredibly efficient and polite at booking appointments. She accepts communication by email or text which is super convenient. She either reminds me my monthly cleaning is coming up or I'll text her and an appointment will be made right away! My only concern is that those working have let my cat out into the hall before (I'm sure that was mainly his fault) and sometimes throw out things that are important to me. I feel like that must be a hard part of the job though-one man's junk is another man's treasure. Still, I see no need to throw away full bottles of shampoo or never touched make up brushes. All and all though, a clean home is a happy home and I consider Cida's to be an excellent use of my money. read more

We recently (read: a few months ago) moved into a new place, and finally were on the tail end of unpacking, but the apartment was still a complete mess. We have two dogs and two cats, and anyone with pets can tell you how quickly you can accumulate new pets in the form of massive pet hair dust balls...everywhere. Hair, dust, dirt...all the evil things that had added up over the past 4 months while we didn't clean, justifying the mess by claiming we were still "settling in"...it all had to go. I couldn't spend one more day with it, and with only a couple of days until a visit from the parents, it was time to bring in reinforcements. I read the reviews here and decided that Cida might be up for the job. She was quick in her email and text responses, and gave me a quote site unseen - $180-$210 for a 900+ square-foot apartment. (The price ended up at $200, which I think was a steal!) Her team did a fantastic job! It looks like I live in a real house rather than under a bridge with 4 animals. The grime that I thought would never come off one of the venetian blinds is completely gone. The dark layer that I was sure was somehow part of the structural integrity of the bathtub is no longer there. The inside of the fridge even smelled nice. Their attention to detail was very impressive. I recognize this was a deep clean, as first visits usually are, but Cida's girls went above and beyond what I was hoping for. I was proud to give my mother the full 30-second tour. I'll certainly be calling on them again as these additional "pets" will surely appear soon. read more

I had Cida's come to my small apartment this morning. Originally, I had scheduled them to be here at 12, but they called around 9 and said they could be here earlier. Fine with me! I had planned on heading out while they were here, but since they came a bit early, I had to stick around and take a conference call. The 2 member crew brought all their own supplies, except trashbags and paper towel - which I think is perfectly fine. They worked really quickly, efficiently and got into all the nooks and crannies I needed them too. They even rearranged some small things that made a really big difference in the way my apartment looked. That was great. What was even greater - was the fact that my shower literally broke this morning. No water came out - at all! I told the crew, and explained if they could clean it, great. If it was too much of a hassle without any water - I'd totally understand. I had no idea it was broken until 8 this morning and just didn't have the time to cancel. Didn't matter! they cleaned the shower - spotless. I honestly didn't expect them to do that. I think you'd be hard pressed to find something wrong with Cida's service. She was super easy to deal with, the cleaning was great. I have a fairly small apartment, paid $150 this time and have set up my 2nd appointment for next month. I think it should be about half price now that the first major cleaning is out of the way. read more

Cida did a phenomenal job and exceeded all of my expectations. We just moved into our apartment two weeks ago, so I would like to think that we didn't make it *that* dirty in our short time of residence. In fact, the main reason we even decided to hire a cleaning service is because I am pregnant and growing every day, and am afraid there will be a day in my near future that I won't be able to scrub the bottom of my bathtub without toppling over. That being said, I began to search Yelp for help. I found Cida and though she had only one review, it was both recent and five stars, so I gave her a call and left a voice mail explaining that I would like someone to come on Friday (this was Tuesday), and then every other Friday after that. She returned my call within 15 minutes and then scheduled a time to come over the following day to give me an estimate. When she came over, she looked everything over, let me know what I needed to do, and gave me an extremely reasonable quote. The first cleaning is double the normal fee, which I figured is what I would have encountered with any service, so I agreed and we set it all up. Fast forward to last night.... I come over after a hellish week of work, open the door, and all my worries disappeared. My apartment was gleaming. Literally. The counter tops, the wood floors, any stainless steel she could find.... sparkling. My couch had been wiped down or vacuumed, so that there was a perfect pattern on it that made me almost not want to sit down. Anywhere there was tissue, it was tied into a sweet bow. My toilet paper was folded over like as if my home was hotel. Even the liquor bottles that sit out on my wine rack had been dusted off. My husband, who only agreed to hire Cida to appease me, was thoroughly impressed and commented that it was money well spent. We even discussed how we feel we will definitely make the effort to keep the house picked up because we LOVE the way it looks. And, I personally, am looking forward to every other weekend when I will come home to a shiny, new like apartment. I highly recommend Cida to anyone looking for someone to clean their house. I found Cida's House Cleaning on Yelp, I looked around quite a bit first, but I ended up trusting Yelpers. I e-mailed Cida, she was very prompt, and got back to me quickly via e-mail. This was important to me, because I was overseas while scheduling, so a six hour time difference could have made trying to set this up over the phone a pain, but Cida made it very simple and pleasant. Cida had three ladies come out at to my apartment, and to be fair, I consider myself quite neat and organized, but with a busy schedule, and lots of travelling I find it hard to get down to the nitty gritty and get a good clean in by myself. I went to work while the ladies got to work on my place, and I was a bit worried, I did not know what to expect. Well, I have to say, I was shocked (in a good way) when I walked in. Everything was cleaned, even the sides of the couch (!) were vacuumed. More importantly, the ladies organized EVERYTHING. Which was great, I actually realized my place has a lot more room than I initially thought. It was like hiring a fantastic cleaning crew, and professional organizers in one go. I could not be happier with the service provided, and I have already scheduled my next home cleaning with Cida. I will keep my review up to date - if anything should change (which I hope will not be the case!) I will update my review. But for now, I cannot praise Cida and her team enough, really fantastic. My husband and I had our first child in November. We never considered hiring a cleaning service until we notice how quickly other things got in the way of house work. After researching our options we contacted Cida. Cida was very responsive and answered all of our questions quickly. We were able to schedule an appointment for the following week. The girls arrive a bit early, but that was just fine by us. My husband is home during the day with our daughter so he was there to greet them. The team came in and started cleaning immediately, focusing on the largest projects first...the kitchen and bath. I will admit, our house was a disaster. When I came home from work that day, it was gleaming! I can't remember the last time my house looked and smelled so good. Because of this we opted to have Cida's team come back every other week. The girls were back for our second cleaning this past Monday. Again, great job! I won't say these things are negatives, just some observations I've had....the staff is not very talkative. Maybe this is their training, maybe this is just how cleaning services go. I wouldn't expect them to do a lot of chit chat, but they hardly say hello and goodbye. They are definitely NOT rude in any way, just not social. I think it might be a good idea for Cida to arrange a visit to the home prior to the day of the deep clean. This way she can assess the number of hours needed for the job and provide an in person estimate. We were able to accomplish this via text, but it was site unseen. She may find more value in an on site visit before cleaning day. Four stars for Cida and her team. They are efficient and get the job done. They are timely, reasonably priced and easy to contact. read more

I really like that Cida communicates via email and text, it is very convenient. I was a little unsure that she could not give me an exact arrival time but it all worked out. The women arrived on the early side, did a complete clean out of our empty place and even helped me put my left over food in a cooler to transport. The price she quoted was a bit on the higher side for a completely empty apartment but the women worked quickly and did a great job. I would use her again. read more

My roommate and I decided to schedule a one-time deep cleaning before company came into town for Thanksgiving - with both of us working full time, we never seem to have the time to get the apartment as clean as we would like. After getting quotes from several services around Boston, we picked Cida's because of the great reviews on Yelp, overall value of the deal and her level of responsiveness and enthusiasm when we were coordinating schedules over email. Cida's team was very flexible with our schedules, working in a last-minute midweek appointment at 8am so I could meet the team before leaving for work. The two girls showed up on time and got right to work, freeing me up to go to work with the house in good hands! We were very pleased with the results when we got home - everything was sparkling! From the inside of the refrigerator / oven / toaster oven to the bathrooms to the floors, our apartment has never looked better. Definitely worth the money! It was so nice coming home to a stress-free clean house that we're thinking of scheduling semi-regular cleanings with Cida's in the future. read more

I called Cida on a Friday and she said I could text her anytime at least a day or two before I needed her. I texted her that Monday and she gave me details and I told her I would leave the keys for her and her team on Tuesday morning. When I got home from work on Tuesday I walked into a new apartment. The keys were in the same hiding place and my apartment looked brand new. I can't even explain how happy I was. I live with another guy and we hadn't cleaned in months. I will be using her again next month!! Best in Boston! First cleaning is about 160-180 depending on your needs and after that she agreed to 80 a cleaning. Service received: first appointment "deep cleaning" for a 650 sq ft apartment without furniture - $140 with tip and it took about an hour What would keep me going back: short notice availability; email and text appointment scheduling (no phone calls required - a huge plus in my eyes); cida seems pretty attentive and willing to accommodate any requests or needs The result: i'd give the cleaning a B+; perhaps my hopes were set a little high with all the amazing ratings and for $2 a minute i was probably expecting perfect. for the most part everything typical was taken care of and probably cleaner than i could have gotten it myself. i did go back and have to do some touch ups on a few things (there was a dirty mug put back in the cabinet, i'm sure on accident as the others seemed clean) or catch some missed a-typical items like a very dirty door frame and wall in the bathroom. I moved into a new apartment on September 1 and contacted Cida by email to arrange a cleaning crew to clean the apartment on the morning of our move, before all our things were moved into the space. Cida was very responsive and set up an appointment for 11 am on our move day. I only needed to provide a phone number and she gave me an estimate of $160-$190 for the apartment. The cleaners ended up being about 30 minutes late, but Cida texted me well ahead of time to let me know they were delayed. This was very appreciated considering the last minute packing I was doing! The cleaners showed up and went to work for about 2 hours. They did a great job cleaning the kitchen, stove, and bathroom. The rugs in bedrooms were vacuumed, and the baseboards were cleaned. I do wish the blinds had been dusted and the trash taken out, but that was my only complaint. read more

Cida's team are a ninja strike-force of squeaky clean. I've had her over twice now, and both times my apartment was transformed from "barely livable wreck of a bachelor pad" to "so clean and shiny I can't look directly at the fixtures for fear of blindness". Her crew are not only insanely fast and thorough - no corner left untouched - but are also very gentle when it comes to delicate things like instruments (I'm a musician who has a few guitars and basses here and there) and cleaning around them. Cida is AWESOME !!!!!!! My apartment was a disgusting mess before Cida cleaned it. I called Cida to clean my apartment since I was moving out and I wanted to leave it immaculate for my super clean and sweet, 82 year-old landlady. Cida came out and gave me an estimate. I have to admit I was embarrassed to let her see it because it was such a nasty mess. Even my refrigerator was super gross. Cida and her crew did even more than I asked !! My landlady said the bathroom looked brand new ! Cida even waxed the beautiful wood floors !!! My landlady said everything was spic and span (completely neat and clean). Cida is a godsend !!! I had my apartment cleaned by Cida's crew a few weeks ago and I can't praise them enough for the spectacular job they did! My apartment was in shambles- so dirty we couldn't even move in on time. The tub was stained brown and repulsive- same with the toilet. There was a dog living there for 2 years so it was covered and fur and just smelled awful! When I came home from work to see my apartment it looked brand new. They were able to get ALL of the scum out of the shower and toilet and it seriously looked brand new (it was so dirty we almost got a lawyer to talk to our landlord- THAT bad). I am so thrilled with the results and will definitely be hiring them again for another cleaning. I didn't even mind paying them $210- worth every single penny! read more

Just to clarify after Cida's response to my review, the hole in the wall was not "uncovered" by her clearing, it was produced by her cleaning. Cida did not bring her husband to my apartment to offer to fix it, he only offered to fix it after coming and arguing with me, denying responsibility. I did not take him up on this generous offer (sarcasm intended) because I discussed it with my landlord, and she decided to take care of it with people she trusted. Also: Materials used for original "repair": Duct tape, white paint. Number of hardware stores within 0.5 miles of my apartment: 3 I'm just sayin'. --- Original review: Cida sent her "girls" to clean my apartment this weekend. While they were cleaning, they put a hole the size of a broom handle in the wall above my kitchen sink. Rather than being honest with me about it, they opted to do a crude repair job and covered it with a piece of duct tape and painted over it with white paint. I called Cida after discovering the hole, and she profusely denied that her "girls" had done it. She brought her husband, one of her "girls" who cleaned my apartment, and that girl's husband to my apartment the next evening so they could all deny it to my face, blaming it instead on our landlord. Please, people. My landlord would never allow such a crappy repair job in her building. They were the only people who had been in our apartment aside from ourselves, and they without a doubt put a hole in my wall and lied about it. They were dishonest and incapable of assuming responsibility for their mishap. I would not recommend this service. read more

I rent a 1-bedroom apartment and the previous tenants were just disgusting. They accumulated maybe 10 years of dirt in this newly constructed apartment. And of course as all bad rental companies in Boston area go, the building management did not send in their cleaners like they were supposed to. So I cleaned the apartment myself. It took working a few hours over a few days and still I could not feel clean enough. I eventually decided to call professional cleaners to do a complete clean. I looked for a service which had relatively more positive reviews and paid attention to the reviews which looked like they were from genuine people, and Cida's cleaning service received the most reviews, most of which were good. But I have to say it was extremely disappointing how little was done for a deep clean. I honestly think it was a waste of my $120. I know Cida pays attention to the reviews, and hope she can use this feedback to perhaps better train or equip her team (or rather the 2 who came to my place to clean). I appreciated how she's responsive and able to send people over at short notice. And they are punctual. Many of the reviews indicated that the cleaners would clean for an hour and a half to 2 hours, but my cleaning job barely lasted 35 minutes. I had already cleaned most of the place myself and requested specifically for the floors, stove-top, windows to be cleaned thoroughly and spotless. Meaning, I needed them to spend the usual time they spend cleaning the fridge and cabinets and FOCUS on items in my request. Bathroom: I'd asked that they clean the bathroom as well as remove dirt from between the tiles. They spent a few seconds scrubbing the side of one time and went on to other tasks. She said she'll just mop the bathroom before she leaves. Really? For a deep clean? I have done the same myself before, and for free. And for that result or rather the lack of, I would say they have not done their job. Kitchen: The burners are still sticky from burnt grease. Windows: Blinds are still dusty. If it was for a deep clean, I would have expected that every blind be wiped if it was that dusty. And they did not clean the windows. Seriously, why leave a 30-second task out while you're already cleaning the window area? And no window cleaner or squeegee too. They were also not equipped to clean anything taller than them. I thought a professional company would probably bring a small step ladder. Living Area Floor: They did not do a dry wipe of the area but instead used water to mop. Anyone who knows how to clean will know to remove the dirt and dust before using the wet mop, and some floor detergent too!!! I did ask the girls why was so little done as they walked out the door, and she simply shrugged and asked me what more I want? How about the deep clean that it was supposed to be? I was unconvinced right after they left, so I used a Swiffer wet wipe and mopped over a small area. I had to use 2 sheets and still it wasn't clean... and as we all know, Swiffer products are really meant for very light surface cleaning. I sent the picture of the blackened wipes to Cida. It was nice that she offered to have them return and re-do the job. I wasn't keen after seeing what they were capable or equipped to do, plus it was inconvenient for me to have to leave work early again to let them in. But I decided to give them another chance to live up to their reputation as it is on Yelp. But again, it was not up to standard. The same girls came and before I could say anything they began filling up their floor bucket IN MY KITCHEN SINK and mopped the floor with ONLY WATER, again without the dry wipe or waiting for instructions. I asked her if that was how she normally mopped the floor for all their clients and she said yes, but since I wanted soap, she dunked my DISHWASHING LIQUID into the bucket, and mopped up a frothy mess. I had to ask them to mop over with clean water twice to get rid of the foam. The floor was still dirty after they left. There were other details which made them look unprofessional but which are relatively minor. I contacted what I thought was a professional cleaning service with their own set of professional cleaning agents, to come and clean something I'd done myself but needed extra work which I wasn't equipped to do on my own. What they did was some superficial cleaning with no chemicals whatsoever (first time their spray bottles were near empty, second time they came with nothing but a bucket and rags). If they didn't have cleaning supplies, just let me know and I could get them. If I had been more assertive I would have held back the payment until the place was properly cleaned (which it never was). I like Cida's responsiveness and willingness to re-do a poorly executed job, but at every level, I don't think the job, for its pricing, qualified as deep cleaning. Routine cleaning maybe. I really cannot recommend Cida's service if I didn't receive the service that it was meant to be. read more

I have tried several other cleaning services. I signed up for a deep cleaning and overall they very superficially cleaned the place. On the plus side, they arrived within 30 min of scheduled time, were fast, and cost less than other cleaning services out there. Cida herself was very responsive when I tried to arrane the cleaning, but she was not there with the team she sent. When they cleaned my place, everything was in a box, so they could have very easily done a great job. They did not clean the windows at all (which I would have expected for a deep cleaning service), and also refused to help me take out the trash bags. One of the girls was a little rude and had an attitude. After I gave them a generous tip, then they agreed to take out the trash. They also threw out some food that I had in the fridge without asking. The team used up all of my paper towels (several rolls) but did not let me know to purchase more. I found this out later on my own. Many other services I've used bring their own products. I liked my interactions with Cida, but unfortunately, I would not use them again. read more

I used Cida for almost two years and it was always great and I was always very happy with the cleaning. The cleaning girls usually showed up early but it was nothing I couldn't adapt to. I scheduled a cleaning last week for noon as I had an appointment and had to leave at 1. I confirmed this with Cida Friday (the day before) again stressing I had to leave at 1 was that OK and her confirming they would be there by noon and it was all set. Noon comes and goes. I text Cida (her main method of communication) at 12:15, 12:30, and 12:45 to ask if everything was ok. I received no response. Finally a bit after 1 I texted her a final time saying I had to leave for the appointment and couldn't wait any longer. They were at this tint over an hour late. I still have not heard back. I had my apartment cleaned by Cida's crew this past Saturday and am absolutely thrilled with the results. I contacted Cida early last week and told her my apartment was in desperate need of a deep cleaning, especially the bathroom which I've clearly been neglecting... She was super fast to respond and we set up a time for Saturday morning. Two of her girls showed up right on time, I let them in and then left to go to the gym so I wouldn't be cramping their style in my studio apartment. When I got back home, I was thrilled. The bathroom was spotless - the cleanest it's been since I moved in 2 years ago. All of the hair that my cat Phoebe leaves around everywhere and I'm constantly trying to remove were gone. They cleaned out the inside of my fridge, microwave and toaster oven. They even organized some of my kitchen cabinets for me! All of my dishes were done, my walk in closet was vacuumed and everything on the floor of it was reorganized. I've used another service before but they were not nearly as thorough as Cida's. I would highly recommend them - they are professional, trustworthy, and are fabulous at what they do. I will be setting up regular cleanings with them moving forward! read more

This service is awful. I don't even want to give it a one star! I am extremely unhappy with Cida and her crew. Firstly, she does communicate by email but is awfully slow to respond. Also, the only reason she communicates by email is because she cannot speak English or understand English all that well. Neither can her girls, so it is almost impossible to tell them what you want them to do. I can't stand that! Their cleaning service is no better. I just got a new apartment and it sat empty for 4 weeks while I was finishing up school, before I had time to move. I had Cida's girls come in four times over the four weeks, thinking it would be clean when I moved in. Nope! By the time I moved in, it was disgusting. So bad that I had to spend 5 hours cleaning everything myself before putting any of my personal belongings in the house. Simple things, like not cleaning dust out of corners, not cleaning the bath tub, and not cleaning inside the kitchen cupboard (which we had talked about doing, since it was a through cleaning and I didn't have anything in the cupboards at the time). I was so upset, I spent just under $350 in the four weeks, for what? To clean it myself. The service is awful. I highly recommend using someone else. Very disappointing, especially for all the great reviews I saw on yelp. If you have a better cleaning service that you can recommend to me, please let me know! I will never use Cida again! read more

I'd been really wanting to have my apartment cleaned, and after reading the reviews on Yelp I decided to give Cida's a try. Cida responded to my email right away and scheduled an appointment for that same week. The appointment was scheduled for 2:30, and the girls were still there by the time I got home from work at 5:30. And by the way the place looked, I could tell they had definitely been there the entire time- everything was spotless! My apartment has never looked so good. I also have a very furry cat who just went through her shedding season, and my vacuum was no match for that battle. But after Cida's House Cleaning, you wouldn't even know I have a cat! They even organized all of my shelves. I am beyond happy with their services and will absolutely use them again! read more

I moved into a new apartment and wanted a thorough cleaning prior to moving all of my belongings in. The apartment was already pretty clean, I just wanted them to focus on the bathroom, cabinets, windows etc, and I expressed they to Cida. Well, when the day came, the cleaners arrived about a half hour late. However, Cida did arrange the appointment for me at the last minute and it was the only day that worked for me, so I wasn't too upset about it. The minute they walked in they started cleaning and were done in about 30 minutes at the very most. The job itself was okay... I guess I was just expecting a more pristine, thorough job considering the apartment was completely empty and they had more than enough time. Now that it's been about two months and were all settled in, I'm going to try the cleaning service once more to really give a good judgement. read more

I've used Cida's House Cleaning two times now. The first deep cleaning was great! For my ~850 sq ft apartment in the North End, it was $170. The two girls were respectful, punctual (even a little early which I appreciated!), and very thorough. The second time three weeks later was great but still a little expensive ($110). I'd break it down as follows: Overall cleaning 3.5 stars Cida's professionalism: 5+ Availability on short notice: 5 Crew's professionalism; 2 Overall value: 3.5 As other reviews stated, Cida is very available and responsive via email. This came in handy when an issue came up during the cleaning itself. By emailing Cida, I was able to resolve it before the crew left. However, her intervention did end up making the rest of the time the crew was there a bit awkward/unpleasant as they felt I'd "told" on them. But I had really been having a trouble communicating in English to explain what I wanted or needed. The crew leader who spoke English left for over an hour, making it impossible for me to communicate with the other woman who was cleaning. My place was in awful shape -- have a cat who sheds a lot and it had been *a while* since i'd dusted. Had cleared away piles of stuff, revealing colonies of dust bunnies. They did a good job at dusting, vacuuming, making it look like a new place. The stuff that was *really* dirty ended up looking very clean. Yet the stuff that was not so dirty looked not much different. That the stove and refrigerator are included in her price is pretty good. However, those were the parts of my apartment that were pretty clean. Didn't feel that they looked any cleaner after the crew came by. Actually went back and cleaned it myself to get rid of various areas that were missed. In the past I've had cleaning crews make my bathtub sparkling white. Whereas now, it looks the same as when I clean it. On the other hand, the blinds were not included (had asked Cida about that ahead of time) and they did clean off the dust -- including the sticky greasy dust of my kitchen blinds. That was a pleasant surprise. The thing that disappointed me that I did not notice until later was that my freshly laundered shower curtain (that I'd paid $40 to have cleaned -- since it's rows and rows pleats require ironing) was dirty with Ajax spots. Granted it's not "dirty" -- but it is unsightly. I've had cleaning crews remove shower curtains while they clean to avoid such issues. Hope the cleaning agent on it doesn't bleach the cloth but am not keen on paying another $40 to get it laundered and ironed again -- at that point I should really just buy a new shower curtain! So, overall am glad they came by. Appreciate Cida's attention to detail and professionalism. Do wish her crew functioned at her standard rather than needing so much instruction. Am not sure how they would work if my place were cleaner at baseline -- would they be more detail-oriented and do a better job or would it be superficial cleaning as I noted with the stove?
