Our friend took us here, and honestly, I wasn't sure about it at first since there was only one table when we walked in. I thought maybe we shouldn't eat here, but she said it's worth it, so we just went with it! They've got a pretty big menu, and the service is pretty normal for a Chinese spot, nothing crazy, just a different vibe. We got the pancakes, sizzling beef, a pork belly dish, and a lotus veggie thing. And let me tell you, the food was absolutely amazing. It took a little while to come out because they had a bunch of to-go orders, but it was so good, totally worth the wait. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

I love Sichuan food. We came in for lunch to an almost empty restaurant and were greeted right away by the nice owner. The menu made it difficult to choose what to order because it had pictures of all the dishes, and everything looked delicious in the photos! What we ordered: Garlic ribs: kinda measly, but I did enjoy them with the red pepper dry dip they came with. The dip wasn't spicy, so my spice sensitive husband got to enjoy it as well. Stir-fried beef: A little blander than most Sichuan places I've been to. Stir-fried pork belly: My favorite from our order. Flavorful, and I loved the thin slices of pork belly. Combination fried rice: It was alright. The inside is kind of dark and filled with old school wooden furnitures. But the service was great, and we enjoyed the food. I think Coachella Valley is very lucky to have them since there doesn't seem to be much variety when it comes to Asian food.

I wanted authentic Sichuan style food on my way back from Calexico. Just so happens that CIE Sichuan is some of the best I've had in a while. This is a nice place. Authentic Chinese deco, in a medium sized dining room. There was one lady running the show. She didn't speak any English, so pointing to the menu worked. I started with the cold noodle appetizer. It was so good! The noodles were chewy and fresh. The sauce at the bottom of the dishes was salty, sweet and spicy. Delicious Next I had the spicy wonton soup Wow! Packed with wontons and plenty of mala. My whole mouth was numb. This spot is the real deal and I'm bringing my wife back here so she can try it

3.5 stars. The food is a 4 but the vibe is a 3. Food was good but unspectacular. The spicy chicken was the most interesting. The other dishes were tasty but unmemorable. The service was a bit aloof. This place has an odd vibe but the food is solid. It probably does a good take out business? We couldn't figure out why we were the only ones there at 6 pm on a Sunday.

Great dim sum prices $5.25 apiece.

While performing civic duty tasks in Indio, one of my colleagues and I decided to go to lunch at local restaurants and spread the wealth while we were assigned to the area. I was craving Szchuan cuisine, especially since my favorite restaurant in Riverside closed earlier in the year. Luckily, this local gem came up in a Yelp search and we set out to give it a go. After two visits, this is my report. First, parking is very accessible, including street spots. The restaurant has an antique interior with older style furniture and Chinese decor and collections of vases, ceramics, etc. There are dim sum options as well as a wide range of regional cuisine, including many spicy dishes the Szchuan region is known for. My first dish was a spicy number called the griddle cooked chicken, with lots of jalapeños rather than the mouth-numbing peppercorns. Nevertheless, its simplicity is what makes it stand apart from mainstream Chinese food. My buddy tried the Kung Pao, which was freshly prepared, but simple in presentation. Tasty, but not something I'd order in the future. The second visit saw a wider sample of entrees and dim sum options. The dumplings were excellent! I especially liked the house made crispy pork ones. We both enjoyed the steamed dumplings, too, and I was especially impressed with the dipping sauce. Essentially, it was a premixed condiment with soy sauce, black vinegar, hot chili oil, and infused with ginger. Our entrees also impressed, and my spicy pork was light and progressively spicier with each bite. Overall, I thought the food was very good and I'd definitely dine here again if I'm in the area.

Taste good but restaurants smell oily. Got a referral from my friend overall it's good Chinese food.

Spicy. Chicken? (If I remember the name correct). 10 out of 10 - amazing!

This time I had spicy chicken (I think it is called). I said I wanted something "mala" (term for that mouth numbing feel and spicy. This meal did not disappoint. This the first time I had any Chinese food with potatoes. It seems odd at first to have potatoes as that doesn't seem traditional at all. But they were perfect because they absorbed the flavors even more than the chicken. Each potato had that tingly sensation when you chew into them that I love with spicy szechuan food. Although treasure hunt is no longer open, this is my goto spot for lunch or dinner when I visit spotlight 29 casino.

Found This spot randomly searching for food! Everything is made fresh to order and in turn causes it to take a while for To Go Order... But im Grateful for it! They have plenty of seating and they are always helpful and ready to take your order! I ordered the Egg Foo young with Shrimp and it was the best I have had so far! The sweet lady who runs the restaurant made them fresh and by Hand..as if it was from your Moms Kitchen! The Egg Foo Young is not only fresh but the Portions are HUGE!! 1 Egg Patty is enough to get you full alone. The Egg Foo Young comes with 3 and are bigger than most I have seen!! The Menu has many Options and I cant wait to try some other Items next time im in Town! This spot has a nice Atmosphere and is Great for any Occasion big or small! If you are Near the area Check them out

Does anyone know if they are re-opening soon? Or if there is anything comparable in the area? We were planning on coming here for my mother's 60th birthday this weekend as it's her favorite restaurant in the area. So sad to see it's closed :(

We will be opening on September 22nd. Sorry for your inconvenience, as we are currently in Chengdu, China

Are they still serving their food in paper plates?

No, looked like bone china. Place was very clean, good service and excellent food!!

    Do they use MSG?

No- According to the owner and chef. - AND my lack of headache!

    Open on Christmas?

    Maybe call!

Do you use traditional rolling carts for the dim sum?

My wife bought the carts, but the dim sum business is not large enough and steady enough to utilize them (they just sit in the back). Currently all dim sum is made fresh for each order.

Anyone know if they use msg?

They will leave it out of you ask them to and reduce the salt. But they all say that and I always have super dry mouth all night after eating any asian food. But CIE is s--o-o good I always return for more.

Does the staffs know how to speak cantonese?

They speak Mandarin and English. Cantonese, I don’t think so.

Do they still offer dim sum?

Yes; you can call on Tuesday and talk to my wife (Sherry) and she can go over what dim sum we offer. Thank You for your support!

Do you serve dine in or just delivery?

Serving dine in now as of June '21.

What are the hours for Dim Sum on weekdays?

    Open - until 4:00

What are the hours for dim sum on weekends?

    11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

I was so incredibly impressed with Da Chef Noodle, I felt actually giddy joy when discovering it existed and then even more excited once I learned the food is as good as you think it is going to be when you walk in. Staff was low key but kind and helpful. I popped in on accident one night when I was in the area and have ordered several times since. My first fortune cookie read: You are in the right place for something unforgettable. And boy, were they right! The roast pork was sweet, tangy balanced perfect with salty. The walnut shrimp might be the best I've ever had and I've lived all over the world. Typing this now, I can't wait to go back. I've been several times, the first time about 3 weeks after it opened. Didn't write a review then, or did I? Anyway... It is about the size of a Starbucks lobby, complete with standard decorative restaurant applications. There's a couple of tables and a half dozen booths to sit in. Soda selection is limited, and they do have a few adult beverages there as well. I don't drink, so I usually don't check out the drink menu. Not to make the staff seem too stereotypical, but as soon as I heard the yelling in the kitchen, with the language of the natives, I knew from the first visit, this was gonna be at the very least, a tasty meal. This visit was not a disappointing one. I ordered the potstickers, and an order of combo lo mein. Very good and very filling. And all the flavors were very authentic. I will say the service is hot and miss, but only because the language barrier is somewhat thick. But, I really don't need to ask for anything else past the meal being set, because that's ultimately what matters, in my opinion. As long as we communicate, the plates and cups aren't thrown at me, I'm a happy camper. I feel like this place is a little more popular for take out, but I think it is also worthy of a sit in meal. I'm having the duck next time... Thanks!

The restaurant is hard to find in the huge building and we ultimately had to ask directions but that's a minor detail. And if we had come through an entrance closer to the actual restaurant that might have been different. One thing that gave me pause is you can smell cigarette smoke going through the main casino building but thankfully the restaurant air was fresh with no detectable smoke odor. I suspect a positive air-flow system which is good. The restaurant interior is roomy, clean and pleasant with Oriental style decor which is nice. The staff were warm and inviting right from the person that greeted us at the entrance, throughout our meal and just as gracious upon our exit. We were there during the lunch menu which of course is limited but plenty of appealing choices. I ordered Twice cooked pork which though I have made myself I don't recall ever ordering it in a restaurant. My dish was very tasty with plenty of tender pork slices and filling enough I didn't want dessert. My lunch partner had Kung Pao chicken which looked good though I didn't taste, but he thought underwhelming, bland and average at best. If only going by my experience I would have given 5 stars but I have to take into consideration the opinion of my lunch partner for the benefit of anyone reading this review. I would eat there again but not likely anytime soon as it is an unnecessarily long drive when there are plenty of Asian restaurants that I like within my local area. Good but not 60 mile round-trip good.

The chutney complimented it very nicely. The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful. Not greasy nor dry. When duck is available on a menu, I always order it. Duck is one of my favorite dishes. I was not disappointed. The portion size was ample, enough to make a meal for the following day. The duck was accompanied by an orange glaze and a side of rice. My Aunt thoroughly enjoyed the crispy shrimp which also came on a bed of rice. We ordered the garlic spinach to share. The one disappointment was that green tea ice cream was not available. My Aunt opted for vanilla ice cream. A slice of white cake was offered complimentary as a birthday treat. I sipped on a glass of Merlot. Overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing evening.
